Is it Possible to Beat Plants Vs. Zombies Without Sunflowers? (No Sunflower Challenge)

It’s ironic that after beating the game with no sunflowers, he gets a sunflower trophy

I remember when I first got the game and read the manual. There was a little note saying "sunflowers are terrible, don't use them" (or something like that) and I would play these games without it. Little did I know the note was from the zombies, who obviously are aiming for me to lose. I won a few games, but kept getting stuck. So I did in fact do this challenge without knowing it. At one point I did eventually try the sunflowers, and boy did that save me weeks of time. I regretted it so much, I decided to start the game from scratch. From the experience though, I can more than say it is possible.

The most skilled move in that video isn't the fact he didn't used any sunflowers. It's was his ability to put plants without being symmetric

Did you know that if you don’t pick Puff-shroom in the first Night level, a warning message appears saying: “This level will be extremely difficult without Puff-shrooms. Are you sure you wish to continue without them?” The game even prioritizes this message over warning that you need Sunflowers more than ever now that it’s nighttime. I guess even the game secretly admits how useful these little mushrooms are that you don’t even need Sunflowers (or Sun-shrooms) in order to beat night levels with them around. However if you click “Yes” in the no Puff-Shrooms warning message, it will then move on to the next warning message about having no Sunflowers at nighttime. Requiring you to click “Yes” on the warning message twice in order to start the game, although the level will definitely be impossible to win without Sunflowers AND Puff-Shrooms at night.

Level 4-3: *balloon zombie at night* Sunflower: Ha! See, you do need me! *What do you mean you have lawn mowers?*

Sun: I'm the most important part of this game nothing can be planted without me Puff-Shroom: OBSERVE

All you need to do is boil a pot of water in your fire place, so similar to “the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf”, you, in addition to defending your roof properly, will also get some yummy zombie soup to help out in the apocalypse. When I was little, I thought that sunflowers where completely useless, and sun producing plants where only useful at night, so this was easy in my mind
