Right before the recent roller coaster ride in the spot price of gold, I bought an ounce of gold from my local coin shop dealer, Tim and crossed a milestone in my gold stack. 70 ounces of physical gold! At the current spot price of 2,025 it’s over $143,000 (Not including any semi-numismatic premium). Am I done stacking gold? No! I need more gold (and of course, silver). It’s a hedge against what you and I know is coming. I don’t “invest” in gold and silver to build wealth…but to PRESERVE my current buying power. But I also speculate in a future precious metals MOONSHOT by leveraging a small amount in mining companies poised to make 10, 20, even 30x my investments. In this video I have the distinct pleasure of interviewing Canada’s most famous gold prospector--Shawn Ryan. He has an absolutely fascinating story! He was called the “Tin Shack Millionaire” in the 90s when he and his wife literally lived in a tin shack--no toilet, no running water, no phone, no power. Shawn prospected in the Yukon, sparked its 2nd gold rush, and won “prospector of the year” in 2011. And yet…this gold prospector has pivoted his attention to something that I need to know more about--Lithium!

First, thanks so much for watching my channel! Really appreciate it. Yes, that is always a danger in doing a "full stack" video. I am very aware of it. However, I spend MUCH more time regularly encouraging new stackers, giving away piles of silver (and occasionally gold), making it clear that there is ALWAYS someone else with a "bigger stack", urging people to stack within their means and budget, and to just keep at it over the long haul. I also occasionally mention that I didn't have an ounce of gold to my name until I was in my 40s! What I've found is that for every person triggered towards jealousy because of a full stack video (which is likely an issue for them in life generally) MANY more are inspired and encouraged to stack! That's a risk I've decided to take. I really don't want these videos to be something that causes one to be envious. I really don't. 👌

I really like to stack the "old world European" coins like Francs, Ducats, Marks, and British coins. I think it's a great way to stack the smaller fractional pieces like .1107, .1867, .2304, and .2354 ounce pieces. The best part is the premiums are really low for these coins in the US. Most of them I bought for melt or melt plus $5-$10 per coin. That's an extremely low premium for bullion. The only issue is most Americans don't recognize them but any bullion dealer will buy them back so I'm not worried about it.

Congrats Yankee, that is a fine collection of Gold Bullion, over two kilos. I have well over my body weight (200 lbs) in silver, but have been trying to build my second kilo of gold for some time. Right @ 40 troy now but money is tight, just trying to keep our head above water is a task. Keep Stacking Yankee.

Im stacking Palladium RN. Its under 1G an ounce RN and going back to 2020 it was around 2700-2900 much higher than Gold! At current spot price of around 970 there is a huge upside if u can find it! Palladium is 40 times rarer than Platinum.

Wow, I wish I had your kind of cash to buy ounces of gold and silver every time I drop by the coin dealer. You got what they used to call gold fever. That's serious bank for metals, at least for us lowly medium income and poor folk. Pray you don't get robbed. Tim seems very down to earth and he's very knowledgeable and a good soul, so keep it up.

My goal has also been 100 oz. It’s a bit of a guess with some slabbed numismatics where the gram weight isn’t precisely given on the holder. But if online “agw” figures are correct, I probably have just barely reached my goal! But I still think I’ll have to keep stacking another ten ounces or so to reach a *definitive* 100 oz. in coins or bars that are actually *marked* with a weight on then and don’t carry as much sentimental or numismatic value. They say the first million is the hardest. But I don’t think a second 100 oz. will be any easier than the first - that took me about twenty years. 😅

Well, that is not bad, 70 ounces of gold! I think you are doing a good job! I think how much you stack is up to the individual, their circumstances and their reasons for buying it. I think one must always allow time for the stack to go up if they intend to sell the stack. Therefore, front load, then buy smaller and smaller amounts as time goes by, unless of course you want to pass the stack on to family which is also a great idea. This is the reason you must never sell until the appointed time, I certainly do not sell. Nevertheless a great achievement indeed and cash in the bank would now have lost so much spending power. Gold has proven without a doubt that it keeps up with inflation and it has been a great investment!

congrats! methinks you need more fractional... pay the premium for 1/10 coins - if/when the "spot price" goes to the moon, you will have smaller denominations for applicable situations which require gold over silver.

Most of my gold stack is numismatic from other countries. For example, ICELAND G500K NGC, Germany - Prussia 1913-A Military Bust 20M Mark ANACS, Colombia - Battle of Boyaca NGC, Iceland - First Settlement 10000 Kronur, etc. The premium is a little higher but the artistic value and history are worth it.

If you just want weight, you buy the cheapest premium bars usually 100 gram. I personally bought a few kilo bars of gold back in 2017 when they had a sale that was actually slightly under spot. But in the end I like numismatics more, and my largest collection of gold coins is that of pre 33 st gaudens ( 104) and pre 47 50 Centenarios (35). Other than gold coins I also collect gold nuggets, as in metal detect in Northern California. I’ve found around 10oz over the last 15 years of hunting. Something about natural gold is just so beautiful in the opposite way of bars and coins. They are all in my estate and will not be sold for as long as I live.

Yes I agree keep stacking I actually stacked 20oz in 3years but I'm a single guy just took a ..we'll I'd say a temporary retirement from trucking due to my health. About to finally get access to my dad's life insurance policy gonna invest in 5oz maybe 10oz bars .thank you for all ur knowledge you have passed to so many and tim as well. Praying and hoping for it to stay 2000 or less..God bless everybody on here .so many peaple are about to get life slapped. Hope I'm wrong. 85% of Americans don't know what's about to happen. Gold bars or silver bars? I know someone that got rid of his gold bars (traded them for one ounce bars/coins) because a sales transaction over 10k triggers required paperwork for the IRS.

Congrats on the 70 ozs. of gold milestone, brother. I'm there with ya with a similar amount. I know that I still need more than this, so am using 100 ozs. of gold as my goal. Not sure if I will get to that before the balloon goes up or not but it's a worthy goal, IMO. Hoping to make the milestone by late 2024 or early 2025. A nice price pullback sure would help at this point. $1850 would be ideal but $1900 might be good too. Stacking dry powder at the moment, so that when we do get a nice pullback, I'll be ready to add several ozs. or more.

Yankee, Enjoy your blog. Here's an idea for some more gold: Perth Mint Australian 1 OZ Cast Bars. I bought a bunch of them when they were $800 each. They are beuatiful bars with the distinctive Perth Mint Swan logo stamp on the front side. Ask Tim to show you one-feel the weight, yeah and it's a different "animal "for 1 OZ gold! Joel

Wow, that is great! Seventy ounces is a big milestone to hit in gold for sure. I know it may sound boring (at least that's what some folks say) but stacking liquid gold, something that's recognized and sold in your area, is probably the best thing you can do. That said, you could always do one ounce Maples. I noticed that you have a couple already so you'd have a head start! Thanks for the interview, Yankee. Lithium isn't something to stack but I sure like how it works in my phone battery!

Depends on what your stacking for. This is an outstanding collection but you have an estimated 3 years annual income just in gold here. I would diversify slightly into other areas such as tools, materials, goods we use and need on a daily basis. But you may already be doing that. Love seeing these videos! Keep up the good work

Congrats Yankee!!! What a stack! And it photographs really well! I don't have any suggestions, well maybe one: wouldn't you like to have as many 1/4 oz Eagles as 1/4 oz Maples? 😁 And here's what I do in my spreadsheet: with the newer versions of Excel you can pull the live gold price into a cell. And for each type of coin I have a multiplier that will show me the approximate values. For instance my multiplier for 1 oz. American Eagles is 1.07 but for 1 oz Krugerrands is 1.05. This way the approximate value of my stack is continually, and automatically updated. A little OCD, but I allow myself that. 😄

Well that's better on the back. When the price rockets, LCDs tend to pay spot period regardless of whether it's an AGE or a Valcambi Bar. This goes back to my grandfather, except rare numis. You may get a dollar or 2 over but nowhere near spot especially on gold. They just removed the 30 day hold period for bars for LCDs in FL bought in FL I'm told. That was a problem. It's so much more concentrated than silver. Not that I don't buy silver but I do gold as an inflation hedge & Platinum as a speculation to a lesser degree. All is far away.

How much gold versus fiat do you have? Do you have also a lot of fiat currency or do you have not a lot of dollars, not more than you would have for all your needs. What is your Silver/ Gold ratio? So how many ounces of Silver do you have per ounce of gold. And what is your Totall worth of your Gold divided trough your amount of fiat ratio? If you have more in precious metals metals dan Currency. So I would be interested in the more overall precious metals ratio and then the ratio between the metals themselves.

70 is a lot as you say. I stick with silver as you well know. Gold may be as it is, Hard to save for and hard to sell. So, my world stacks of silver and I am ok by that. I do have some gold I panned while living in the NWT. Just over 2 ounces panned off a sand bar on the Makenzie River. It was late in the day and needed to be back in camp shortly. On returning the next day the water had risen almost two feet. The Mackenzie is famous for doing that. I was never able to get back there for almost a year. LOL, Would have, could have, wanted to, well you know how it goes eh, LOLOL. Always a good post old friend. ONWARD EH !

cheap gold is the best gold..... I can say with confidence that if SHTF the gold that is bought at a premium for being more identifiable is way over-rated. During Vz hyper-inflation, I had a gf who's from Venezuela, and she told me small cambios in Caracas paid zero premium for AGE or CGM or Krugs. They ID the weight, purity with very efficient inexpensive means. Weight and purity were all they pay on.

I have to ask out of curiosity - do you only stack silver and gold for investments or do you keep to the 10% or so rule for physical? Because I just saw the silver video and between the two that is quite impressive.

I only stack physical PMs as INSURANCE, not as an investment. Right now about 15% of my wealth portfolio, not including my primary residence. I do speculate less than 3% in Commodities and Mining Stocks. I invest elsewhere-especially in real estate.

@@YankeeStacking Thank you. I use it myself mostly as insurance especially in more recent times with the runaway dollar printing for foreign wars. I do think there is a good chance we will see significant increases in PM pricing though (BRICS dollar sellbacks / implementation as a gold backed currency) hence why I do consider it a bit of an investment as well. Very impressive stacks though you have done quite well for yourself and your family!

Don’t know how much silver you have but with the see saw of value between gold and silver, a similar value in physical silver would be my ideal balance. I am heavy in silver so currently adding to gold.

That’s a lot! I started collecting in 2020 but I only have 10oz of gold so far. I also have approx 300oz of silver….. but I’m not buying anymore silver. Question: Is all of your savings in precious metals or do you also invest in RRSP’s etc? I try to balance a little of everything… metals, RRSP’s and our TFSA’s.

Good for you!!! No way I can stack at all ….on SS only trying to save my debt free home because this month my homeowners will go up by $1,000!!!! Either I find a cheaper insurance or I drop it because I can’t do anymore!!! I already have dropped trips to the dentist and eye doctor…who ever thought it would get this tight waiting for the economy to tank so I can stabilize!!!! Got silver in reserve and junk silver too..got food in storage and clothing & necessities..got a car with no expenses so I still consider myself comfy!!!😌🙏🙏let’s get this done!!!

Nice video. Glad to see other metals being presented. Sometimes we focus so much on one or two things we miss the big picture of all the other things available. Mining stocks are definitely speculative. I guess the best way to make real money would be to buy into the same companies as Bezos, Gates, and the like. The problem is, who knows what they're investing in.

Shoot for 1 metric ton (32,150 troy ounces) but at the minimum 1,000 troy ounces which is just 2 Monster Boxes of AGE's. Silver is good but at some point the WEIGHT kills you. That 75 oz of gold value in silver terms would be almost 450 pounds.

Also, I hear there's research being done on Na+ ion batteries (It's cheaper and most abundant alkali metal). Kind of like how organic chemists are looking for cheaper catalysts like Fe.

Lol, been following for awhile. Same ..70! All ouncers with a couple 1.2 ounce Pesos and a few bars. Rest buffalo, eagles, maples, kangaroos and Philharmonic. Started with two Kangaroos in the early 90's just out of high school that i bought for low 200's.. frends thought i was stupid 😂. Obama was the catalyst to go full steam. Not many ounces at all! Doesn’t fit “Stacking the Yankee Way“. 😆 And I’m sticking with constitutionally prescribed monetary metals. Physical platinum risks being confused for silver during an SHTF, and has way too high a melting point to be used as coinage.

If so id stack gold Maples the new ones I think are the most beautiful coin (leaf side only tbh), if it doesn't need to be pure ounces id stack some pre 33 (st gaudens) if you can get it at the right premiums. I saw a bit of fractional in your list and premium wise I don't think its worth to buy fractional.

I was thinking the population in general. The vast majority of people have zero bullion and/or bars so 70 ounces would absolutely put Yank up there. Even Bald Guy said top 1% was 164 oz. per person. And again, that was based on just people who stack.
