no. Ivanchuk and Fischer never played. Ivanchuk is the same generation as Kasparov, by the time they were playing professional chess, Fischer had already gone full-blown crazy and retired from chess, if I'm not mistaken. Agadmator is free to correct me if I'm wrong :)

I tried to workout the next move by pausing video, and then when the queen sac was revealed I said out loud "What!". I think it was intuitive,. When I saw it was a swap off idea I was still wondering how he was going to get that other rook. If he really calculated that far its incredible, but maybe it was the psychological shock value of the q sac that would unsettle your opponent. Is the loss of the black rook forced?

Ivanchuk has always been an extremely dangerous player and his ability to play creative ideas accurately is a big part of that; I believe Kasparov had mentioned the danger of playing Ivanchuk a very long time ago which was understandable to warn his friends. Ivanchuk has another recent positional Brilliancy as Black beating former World Champion Kramnik, V in this year's World Cup with a B13 Caro-Kann, Exchange, Rubinstein variation, Round 3, 0-1 you may have all ready looked over where Engines as well have a difficult time finding exactly where Kramnik went wrong - In that game Ivanchuk went up a pawn on move 27 and my extensive study of the game can only suggest Kramnik needed to at least bring his Queen to d1 on move 33 instead of b5 where it seemed to lack harmony with his other pieces and I think the Queen should've been played to the Center with 33.Qd1 at least in an effort to continue keeping additional guard on his isolated pawn at d4 (Once he lost that pawn the game was really over). It's amazing that in the game Kramnik finally got his pawn back on move 55 only to see his whole Position slipping quickly away and Ivanchuk just demolished Kramnik after that with an outstanding finish! Oh, agadmator has an awesome presentation of that game here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rU74r2JATbA.html Also, Just recently I was glancing over another of Ivanchuk's complete Brilliancies where he was White and played into a B33 Sicilian, Pelikan (Lasker/Sveshnikov) variation in Ivanchuk, V vs Muzychuk, A, 1-0, 2013 and in that game he takes a pawn with his Queen on the Queenside and is up a pawn. Then, Ivanchuk brings the Queen back to the Center and near his Kingside. In that game too, The Engine does not like or at least does not 'understand' what he is doing at move 30.Qg4? and then we see the Engine struggling with 0.00's indicating he is only Equal up until move 33.Qh4? Then an Engine at first gave Ivanchuk's move 34.Ng4 an evaluation of 0.00 as if he was only 'Equal' and was looking at a Draw but then I had to move forward through a few more moves (to where it was more clear he was winning) then when I backed up to where I was it suddenly gave Ivanchuk a +1.29 advantage and this quickly grew by the time he played 37.f3! it was re-evaluated as him having a +3.41 (more than a Knight or Bishop) advantage even though he was only up a pawn (normally only would give him about a +1.00) and on Invanchuk's move 39.Qe2 the Engine finally calculates he has a forced mate in 12! which is where his opponent Anna Muzychuk then finally resigned. Ivanchuk's Kingside attack doesn't look like much at first glance and the Engine can't even calculate that he's winning at first so I know exactly what you mean about an Engine not agreeing with some of his moves or at least not really 'understanding' some of his moves in computer calculation. I hope you enjoy studying more of his games in the future like that as I have for years and with watching great instructive videos like this one! Take care :)
