This is the very first time i heard Matt Slick in a formal debate, however, listening to the debate Matt Slick is very correct in his assessment when he said that Shadid Lewis did not seriously looked into the doctrine of the trinity and Shadid does not understand it which is clear from this debate and every other debate he has been in with Christians. The arguments he brought up is pretty bad and his analogy with Obama and the tea party is also very bad because it is not the same as what is said in the Gospels about Jesus. So basically Shadid admitted that he would rather talk to those Christians who have not studied their faith at all.
He was a man, but not just an ordinary man, however he was NO God...............If Jesus is God then WHO was he praying to ? ......If Jesus is God then why did he say "I am going back to MY GOD and MY FATHER ? So WHO is the God of Jesus, and what is his name, when you find the answer to that question then you will see the TRUTH behind WHO God is ! Jesus backed up that belief when in prayer to his heavenly father said,...”"This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. John 17: 3. Notice how he calls his father the ONLY TRUE GOD! The first century Christians taught the same when they preached for example 1 Cor 15: 24-28 where we see in Vs 24 that Jesus has a GOD AND FATHER and that in Vs 28 he SUBJECTS himself to his God & Father! SOME do say however, that Jesus does address God as his God and his father because he was A MAN however one of the clearest scripture which shows that Jesus is NOT God is Rev 3:12 where we see Jesus as NOT a man but back in heaven: "The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. New International Version So WHO is the God Of Jesus, and what is his name ? "Think critically"? NO WAY. I guess they think Jesus prayed to himself and claimed to be his own son. THINK!!!
Because you refuse to accept that Jesus has a human and divine nature you will not understand this. When Jesus took on flesh, for the time that He walked the Earth He “emptied” Himself of His divinity. He laid aside His divinity for a period and as a human being He prayed to His Father.
@@Lavender-blue80 OK so then why is it that even when Jesus is back in heaven he STILL has a God......1 Cor 15 which I quote is NOT about Jesus as a man but as a spirit creature back in heaven ?.......WHY is it that the verse in Rev 3:12 is Jesus back in heaven and STILL saying that he HAS A GOD AND A FATHER ? So please tell us WHO is the God of Jesus ?
@@STROND Jesus is God the Son. We worship a triune God - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit and the Spirit is not the Father but they are all God. They are three distinct persons within the one God. Jesus was truly God and truly man. He did not stop being God when He came to earth as a man but laid aside all the aspects of divinity while He was on earth. He ascended to heaven and is still truly God and truly man. As truly man He prayed to God the Father. As truly man Jesus was able to say that He was returning to the Father which is what He did at the ascension. Jesus is as much God as is the Father. There is only one God but there are three persons within that Godhead. The Muslim idea of Allah being alone is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible and The Christian doctrine of the triune date back to when Jesus walked the earth. The Muslim doctrine came much later and is not accepted as truth by Christians. Because the Quran tells you one thing, doesn’t make it true. If your Jesus didn’t die on the cross what happened to him and where is he now? Presumably he died and is buried somewhere as is the case with Mohammed. Quite frankly, it takes far less faith to believe in the trinitarian God of the Bible than it does to try and make sense of all the diverse ideas as presented in the Quran. And please don’t dig up the old chestnut that Muslims use when they assert that the Trinity was an idea that was dreamed up at the Council of Nicea. The Trinity is to be found from the first page of Genesis to the end of the New Testament. It is ludicrous to insist that the word Trinity has to feature in order to prove truth. If you want to disprove Christian doctrine you need to use the Bible to do so. Muslims doubt that the Bible is true but expect non Muslims to accept that the Quran is true. Doesn’t work that way. In fact it can be proved that many of the stories that are in the Quran can be found in heretical gospels and other sources that have been around for centuries.

The Bible does not show, that. If it does then please show me ONE SCRIPTURE from the Bible where it says that the holy spirit is God and is equal to God , just one !
@@STROND the answer is that Jesus is God. However, that does not mean that Christians worship two or more gods. It is impossible to separate Jesus from the tri-unity of Father, Son and Spirit. We worship one God but our definition of one God differs from yours.
Anti-trinitarian like abduls, jw, unitarian read the verse out 9f context. They will arbitrary pick verse which will prove their point but will never read the whole chapter or book for example the whole book of John like. For example abduls will pick John 17.3 but they will avoid to read John 17.5 where Jesus Christ said "And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.. Who is mere man can say to God The Father to glorify him that he had with God the FATHER before the world was? The answer is "BIG NONE". Or another example , the WORD became Flesh and dwelt amongst us in John 1.14 where in the beginning WAS The WORD THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, and The Word was God (John1.1). . No one has seen God but only God (MONOGENES THEOS ). Jesus said "before Abraham was, I Am
I think you will find that the opposite is true, that the Trinity lot twist and quote totally out of context the truth of Gods word in the Bible..........the Trinity is nothing short of a pagan God dishonouring teaching !
