Is Jimmy Fallon a Nightmare?

Carl from Summer House has given a statement about ending his engagement with Lindsay. Jimmy Fallon’s employees have some shocking things to say about the work environment…why does this always seem to happen with talk shows? Ashton Kutcher is being criticized for his letter in support of Danny Masterson. Will Kevin Federline ask for more child support from Britney Spears?
Then, I chatted with Joshua Reed, an expert in drug recovery and healing. He shares his own personal struggles with addiction in Hollywood, the potential limitations of traditional inpatient rehabs and AA, and how he’s helping people recover using his own creative approach.

Thank you Joshua for speaking so candidly about your experience with sobriety & the road to recovery. It's so important to normalize these conversations & hopefully get to a place where the shame or embarrassment of addiction is removed so people don't have to suffer in silence any longer. I found this guest fascinating. Having lost my nephew this year (33 years old) to addiction, this story hits close to home. He’d been through rehab multiple times but could not maintain sobriety. Wow, Heather… this has been one of my all time favorite shows of yours. I am a 60+ year old woman. I grew up in the 70s and we did EVERY and ANY kind of drug/substance.. just anything we could get our hands on. I stopped about 15 yrs ago, with alcohol and everything. Thank you for bringing this man on.. we need more of people like him. Also, I want to point out, like he said, AA isn’t for everyone. I couldn’t do it, but my sister loves it. So we’re all different. I don’t believe in giving up my power.. I will not say that I have no control. Peace ✌🏼

I really appreciate you talking about this topic and related to so much of it. You don't often hear anyone talking about the failure rate of rehab. My son died of an accidental overdose less than 2 months after his 8th trip through rehab and he received no trauma therapy. Trauma was at the heart of his addiction and this is common. The word trauma is not mentioned in 12 step programs. 90% of rehabs are 12 step based . I had no idea about the reality of rehab and AA but it was eye opening, but there is a cult like quality to 12 step programs that you feel you don't dare question it. It is the perfect model too because if it doesn't work, they turn it back on the one struggling with an addiction they are trying to heal. "It works if you work it. You believe it is working for everyone else and wonder what you are doing wrong. Only later did I learn that it was working only for a small vocal minority. I've had all of these thoughts and have never heard anyone else talk about it

@roxanemontegna9867 Год назад
I went to many really good Rehabs and was consistently in the rooms of AA yet kept relapsing. Many gave up on me and I even had some people in the rooms bullying me. I kept going to meetings anyway. I finally have year's of sobriety and feel free. It takes as long as it takes. Never Give Up!

Well, he probably thinks he should quit most of the time, but he’s unable to put it down. Classic struggle trying to quit, rinse and repeat. I really hope and pray he can quit before he gets alcohol poisoning or his life goes to complete crap, or someone else dies. I totally understand your guests' complaints of prolonged benzo withdrawal. I'm a nurse practitioner, and this is a common thing with those meds (Xanax, Valium, klonipin, ativan). They (benzos) are THE most dangerous meds to take and the WORST to come off of, regardless of cold turkey or not. It's an actual phenomenon to have a second & 3d wave of withdrawal. It can take years until you feel "normal" again. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson also went through the same thing & after years, he's finally feeling better. My elderly mother was put on klonipin at bedtime for years & she didn't understand the consequences. It took me a year to wean her off, but I had to prescribe her a different kind of sleeping pill. Health care providers need to educate people on meds and the consequences!

..and when these seniors go to hospital for other reasons they just suddenly cut them off. I watched it over and over..different hospitals , different doctors until I realized a senior was withdrawing from Xanax each time. When I would point out these awful symtoms, doctors blew me off. I think many seniors are addicted to Xanax because they have , almost casualy, perscribed like drugs for decades. Especially women. And they have no clue theyre addicted. Side note: Now I see generations after..being percribed Adderal and like drugs . (Yes I know sometimes needed.. Im just stating an observation).

Good interview,, Heather. I had a good friend/coworker who moved away and I didn't see her very often. We stayed in contact in emails,etc., and one day she revealed she was detoxing from Xanax and struggling with the withdrawal. I was shocked. Her doctor had her on different meds to supposedly help come off the Xanax, but she ended up killing herself. The note she left for her family said she just couldn't take it anymore, the physical symptoms from the withdrawal were affecting her brain she said. She was 75 years old and never had any issues with alcohol or drugs, but asked her doctor for an antidepressant after she lost her own mother. That started her downward spiral and it lasted several years before she died. She told me one time, don't ever take benzo's. 😢

I will say, however, I don't think an addict can do ANY substance if they want to be sober. Regardless of whether or not they view it as their "problem" substance, Addiction is not specific to a substance. It is a brain disease. Any substance you do will awaken the addict in you. Have to nix it all to really get healthy. I do my own version of AA. It isn't all for me, and I am ok with that.

RE the kiss in Spain - the woman who got kissed did not care, she joked about it later and the next day in one radio program she said she didn't really liked it but was not a big deal. And then the pressure came from other team members who wanted to get rid of this guy before and then feminists and politicians in Spain so she got worked up into this. It's so insane for us who live here seeing it how it played out and how media created a victim along the way. Not that what he did is not wrong but its also Spain, people kiss here and a "pico" (kiss in the lips) you often see in male soccer or as a joke in tv programs and no one says a thing...

If you are working a program for freedom from any addiction it’s important to be honest. ‘Let’s not and say we did’ … doesn’t work. Because if you aren’t honest about breaking your sobriety … you won’t stop. I should say in my humble experience … and I’ve had a lot … this is almost always the case. 🙏🏼

If Ashton would’ve not lied to the cops and said he wasn’t there he just said he looked through the window if he would’ve called the cops when he walked in that house and saw her they might’ve caught that killer before he killed again and he did kill two other people afterwards Also he went to a party afterwards yeah real nice guy if you wanna know who I got my information from it was the channel growing up in Scientology you can hear it all there

A conspiracy around Ashton is probably not going anywhere. When accused of a horrible crime, family members will still reach out to people who knew them in a different relationship to talk about the person they knew. It's done on the regular. It may or may not be a good idea. It's of little or no weight in a trial if the person is guilty of the crime they are accused of.

I am a retired RN. You can’t imagine how Doctors, people in power would scream at, demean us on the job in the OR especially cause the pts were “asleep” and even in the open in front of patients. It’s part of all work places. People in power usually abuse their power It was bad but I must say I became stronger, tougher because of it. I wasn’t going to let a few assholes ruin my great job for me. You learn to navigate around said assholes. There are plenty of really wonderful Drs too.
