KEN COLE: This was an incredible stream as always and I really enjoyed hearing your guys thoughts especially with the new Karate Kid movie. What’s got me worried the most is that they are rushing this movie, releasing it around the same time as cobra Kai S6 and it feels like they’re just making this movie to just make it and compete with the Cobra Kai series by making their reboot/continuation a movie. I just have a feeling that no matter how this goes it’s going to ruin things for Cobra Kai S6 especially if they put something in there about the Seiki Taiki or anything about the previous characters where bouts: for example Daniel could say in the movie “my Dojo just won a huge world Karate tournament” or “My daughter left for Okinawa to continue her education after she graduated from high school” that just spoils for fans who haven’t seen S6.
Thanks for this stream, Ken! If anything, I believe Joshua Jackson will actually do something GOOD for the new “Karate” Kid film… That_said! I’d much rather they didn’t make it at all 😂
I have a feeling there is a reason why this movie is being made at the same time as S6 - it's not just being rushed out. It will act like a finale or at least come off the back of the final season. I think they have figured out a way to link it cleverly with Cobra Kai hopefully without multiverses and portals. Time will tell but I am sure they have a good idea and it isn't just a cash in. The big three would not let their baby be treated that way.
The Outsiders, My Cousin Vinny, The Karate Kid: Ralph hasn't been in much, but he's usually involved with succesful movies. I really hope this venture isn't a cliff-jumping belly flop!
Josh was fantastic in the show Fringe and a much better actor than he gets credit for. Whatever role he plays here, I'm willing to bet it'll be a good one!
Joshua Jackson also played Peter Bishop in the TV series Fringe which ran for five years. It was a fantastic syfy show which is often compared to The X Files. In my personal opinion, Fringe was better. You should check it out. So Josh is more than just Charlie Conway or Pacey from Dawson's Creek.
