He definitely should be in the conversation now. There likely hasn’t been this dominant of a streak ever. He’s beginning to cross over into movies. He’s a highly revered national champion. His popularity is soaring. Every GOAT in every sport has different ways of getting into the conversation, and Levan is on a 7 year dynasty. Even if he loses a few times it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t be a contender for a long time to come. Longevity is a major category but even with John and Devon they never had a dominant streak like this. Levan isn’t the GOAT yet but he’s on the doorstep imo. Put him ahead of Pushkar now.

He was ahead of Pushkar even before. Pushkar got unlucky and had opponent like Denis in his time and that made him lose quite a bit. John is goat when it comes to winning longevity in armwrestling, Levan is goat when it comes to being the most powerful right hand and Denis is a goat when it comes to the left.

Who else is he gonna face? Devons already taken down all the top guys and he got flash pinned by an recovering levan. Only person with a chance is either ermes again or alex kurdecha. Just for Levan to defeat Devon twice at his peak (10-0) is a very impressive and unmatched feat, considering how many victories Devon had achieved in the past and present.

John Brzenk pulled numerous times and dominated for DECADES against people BIGGER than himself, people argue that the level is different but fail to realise that John himself was of that time period, he didn't train in the future and time travel to the past for matches. Levan dominates alright, but mainly because he is the biggest guy in the room, everyone he faces is at least 50kgs lighter than him (30kgs for the big ones) and can't handle the extra power (weight classes exist for a reason). There sould be an extra class at least in the 130 threshold (if not in the 145-150), but that's not possible due to the low number of athletes. John was THE guy till his 50s while Levan might not be pulling (or worse) in his 40s.

The fact is competition was less fierce back then. People didn't make a living off of arm wrestling. People are putting their health on the line to win matches and everyone of these monsters are looking at dethroning Levan. All the different types of training are documented on videos and people have figured out more effective ways to train. Back then you could possibly get lucky and train differently and end up defeating the competition that does arm wrestling as a hobby.

At this point, the question for the GOAT isnt a question of who is the most impressive, but rather just a matter of semantics Arm wrestling has changed a lot since John was in his prime, not only level wise but also in the format of the matches, there are way too many variables to be comparing John and Levan and I personally think its impossible to make a comparison between the two, imho if someone were to dethrone John for the GOAT status, it needs to be a weightclass puller, otherwise, if the athlete is an SHW only puller, they are the strongest of all time, SOAT. Hell, people cant agree on the top 3 pullers because of "style matchups" and "variables" let alone to make an conclusion on who is the new GOAT

Depends on your definition of GOAT. Is the GOAT the raw bench press specialist who does 555+ in competition for 30-years straight in the 198, 220 and 242-pound weight classes? Or is it the 400-pound monster who has done over 800-pounds raw in competition for seven years and has been undefeated in that time. Both are iconic legends light years ahead of most of their peers either way.

Wow, what profound logic & discernment I have. But Levan is the strongest arm wrestler that I know of.

Going off your logic if Levan never defeats anyone his size then he will never get goat status, that's just so ignorant. Tell me since your so smart who you think has a chance at the same weight or near as Levan who hasn't already been decimated by Devon? Think of any? No you can't, why? Because there is nobody, and anyone that does has either been beaten by people Levan already destroyed or are nowhere near Levans strength at that size. You have no actual argument, the only one close to Levans size is either Georgi or Zaur but Zaur post to Georgi who lost to Devon who lost to Levan. Only 2 left or three is kurdecha or Morozov apart from that, there's no competition for Levan. There would be no point in him having multiple matches a year cause he would just destroy them. So how is he supposed to gain goat status if there's no competition for him? Cut him some slack, if Devon says he's the greatest then he is. @@Anzunai Levan won’t live to see 45. No human body can sustain the staggering amount of drugs and weight he maintains simply to arm wrestle one super match per year. Denis polluted his body with a decade of Tren and buckets of hGH, and it nearly killed him, but even he was never remotely close to 400 pounds. This is the highest peak of arm wrestling strength, no question, but there’s no chance he can sustain this for decades. He will literally die if he doesn’t lose at least 100 pounds within the next 5-10 years.

When comparing Levan and John, I think you also have to look at the level gap between number 1 and 2. There were many pullers near John's level, but Levan looks untouchable.

Important to mention that the only guy who was number 1 at both left and right for a decent amount of time ( especially on the left) is Denis, i don't think he is the goat but nobody else ever achieved it and it's really impressive.

In terms of raw strength and the technical chops to make proper use of it I doubt anyone has ever armwrestled at as high of a level… HOWEVER what Brzenk did at multiple weight classes and very different training regimen makes it impossible to compare imo

longevity and consistency. despite the juice. despite the size difference. that is what makes a goat. you dont just put him at the highest level if he hasnt been at the highest level yet for at least as long as the decades like john. you cant put him in the same conversation as devon in terms of all of the good hes done for the sport. hes obviously by far the strongest and deserves that title, but goat? nah. if brian v levan ever happens that would be a true test of his metal.

It's Brzenk based on the criteria that sports use for greatness. It's not even close on those metrics, he dominated longer than anyone else and did it at many competitions. He was the face of the sport for DECADES. Everyone who armwrestles in some way or another owes their interest to Brzenk. The true godfather. Levan is the best, he would beat everyone, but he is not the greatest as he doesn't have the accomplishments. If Levan stays as dominant as he is right now for another 10-20 years, we can have that conversation. Issue is, as anyone intellectually honest would agree... He won't. This peak is a short term situation because it's only happening because he is taking more drugs and eating more food than anyone else. When Larry Wheels says that your cycle is insane, then your cycle truly is insane. Every sarm under the sun, all the major steroidal compounds, high doses of GH and insulin, all of it. He is only 6'3 and is over 400lbs. Much like the fat man at your local Wal-Mart, that build doesn't age well. All the gear plus the weight on his frame isn't sustainable. Not unless he is incredibly lucky.. It's def not the safe bet. Taking the most drugs to be the biggest and strongest for a few years can make you the best/strongest of all time. It's obvious he is the strongest. It doesn't create the longevity to be the greatest though. If we ever gets someone who is a "more natural" (not literally natural) SHW things could be different. Someone 6'6-7ft+ with a big wide frame, thick bones, etc. Devon is tall, but it's clear he was never meant to be a "big" man. We need a linebacker looking guy at 7ft who weighs 400+lbs while not being extremely morbidly obese. Someone like that could have both the strength and the longevity to "end the argument" and pass Brzenk. Of course that guy would win the recency bias over everyone too, especially if the sport gets more popular

I think there is a line that needs to be drawn with everyone's conclusion of Levan. He's remained unpinned for 7 years and faced the top arm wrestlers in the world especially Devon. Sure Levan has only had one match per year but you have to realize there is no competition for him. He has 6-0 most of the top 10-20 guys, flash pinned at that. He manhandled Dave Chaffee who is known for his explosive power in the first few rounds. He beat an absolute monster of a man Vitaly at his peak and 6-0 him. He utterly destroyed Devon the 1st and second time (with the rematch being a recovering Levan). He also destroyed Ermes 4-2 (the 2 rounds being for the withdrawl) credit to Ermes for making Levan struggle though, but he still lost. Take into account of people Devon beat over the time he was training for the Levan rematch. He beat Georgi, a stronger Ermes, Sergey, Dave, Evgeny, Sandris, Denis and almost beat Gendai (I call it a win with him vs Genadi, the refs were horrible). All that just for Devon to eventually get flash pinned in the rematch. Even if Levan had mutiple matches in a year, whos going to face him that he won't outright destroy apart from probably 2 people he'd struggle a bit against? There's literally no point of it because there is no real competition for him. Levan is an up and coming new Goat soon to be in there with John Brzenk and Devon Larratt

i honestly think it would be unfair to considering how long John did what he did, yes levans peak may be stronger however for his time brezenk was the strongest out of everyone not stronger than current levan however the access to technology and science is far easier to get a hold of and training methods have developed significantly since then

He migh be the biggest and strongest ever, but to be the GOAT of any sport is more than that. John's name is woven into the very fabric of the sport. His style and elegance and how effortlessly dominated bigger people than him for decades cemented his legacy forever. Of course everyone has their own candidates for the GOAT title so at the end of the day it's all subjective.

in my opinion be the Goat someone needs to be dominant pound for pound and must be strength based Classic armwrestler not relying on cheap tricks or being a one trick pony and must have both hand and arm strength. Denis and Levan were able to achieve nothing pound for pound when their weight was similar to thier opponents the weren't as dominant Devon is endurance based armwrestler he use cheap tricks and gets in trouble by opponents even lighter than him he have strong hand but not strong arm John Brzenk is the only complete armwrestler

You can tell that most armwrestling fans are new because their so quick to dismiss Johns legacy and attempt to crown a new 🐐. Can you name another sport where an athlete dominated for 30 years? What about regardless of weight classes? People want to make the argument that the level has risen and I agree with that, but it's not like this is Wilt Chamberlain situation where Wilt was in an era where he was just bigger than everyone else. John was 200 lbs or less for the first 20 years of his dominance beating super heavyweights. In combat sports people argue over who's the best pound for pound fighter, you didn't even have to speculate in armwrestling because John was beating everyone. Including Cleve Dean who was 600 lbs. John retired for 7 years and comes back at 57, decades out of his prime and has had victories over Irakli, Oleg, Corey, Linn, Zoloev and more. Who does that? On top of that John didn't even touch PEDs until he was in his 40s when there was a notable jump in his bodyweight increased to around 230 lbs. As for Levan, I do believe he has attained the highest peak strength that armwrestling has ever seen. Can he be the 🐐? Typically goat status requires longevity with dominance. Just my opinion, but I don't believe Levan will be able to sustain his current level for much longer without significant health complications. He's abusing PEDs at the highest degree at a bodyweight of 400 lbs. You can watch MPMD video on this.

Highest peak does not equal GOAT in my mind. The sport develops over time and people pull in different weight classes. Obviously this Levan would absolutely obliterate any version John Brzenk but that doesn not make him a greater armwrestler. Greatness is about your skill, your struggles and your achievements (Atleast in my mind) and in those catergories John Brzenk still clears Levan.

Think about it, if John were to only pull once or twice a year I think he would also have done the same thing if John calculated his matches and peaked properly he would have probably gone on an even more insane run. The more you pull the more chances you lose. Imagine 2 basket ball players , one of them only shoots once or twice a game and makes both of them, and imagine another player that shoots 10-15 times and makes at least 80-90% of them, which is more impressive?😌

Genadi was fighting for his life and should of lost to Devon. Zaur got destroyed in his last match, couldn't hold out for a few rounds gassed out quick.
