I’m Korean (American) living in Germany . Similarities (in my opinion): people follow the rules, people are brutally honest, industrial manufacturing export economy, people don’t tend to speak to strangers or small talk, use public transportation, like beer, education is important, highly competitive and judgmental, familiar with American music and movies Differences: Germany is more LGBT, feminist friendly, Koreans care about outward appearance, Germans tend to show off wealth less, most businesses are closed by 5pm and sundays in German, Germans show less pride in their country and less patriotism

As a german I have to disagree with the "Germans tend to show off wealth less". Depending on where you live, germans can be brutal about their wealth. If you don't visit a gymnasium and wear expensive shoes andcertain stuff, they'll massively bash you about it. Same with the cars you drive.. And not to forget, a money makes you independent in germany. Some love to show that off just because they think they're worth more.

@@mells2404 ah I didn't know. I only been in barvaria 1.5 years so you would have more insight than me. I am aware there is almost an anti consumerism culture in germany, hence why workers rights is more important (sick days, laws against firing employees, no working Sundays and after 5pm). I been told Germans tend to buy less products and that's why traditionally german products are so high quality (like old Mercedes benz, henkle knives, Bosch generators, houses, etc..) because Germans prefer to buy a product once. As apposed to Americans that love Walmart China made goods they buy over and over again.

I don’t take bus nearly at all in america. I think I have taken the bus only !twice in my life and train 0 time.

I take the warm bidet, the trains on time and the kimchi, but I will not pay with very long school and work hours for it.

In America, you are a salary person then you only have to clock in 8 hours a day and insanely rare you have to clock in more than that or else the company will get into trouble with the laws. If you are paid hourly then you get overtime if you clock in more than 8nhours. I think you are paid 1.5 the regular rate if you clock in more than 8 hours
