When LD first appeared on the scene, he was already carrying an aura on the court which intimidated older established players like Taufik, Peter Gade, they were saying he was the most threatening player .... And LD's fierce personality helped his game ...
About Lin Dan, I think you did a perfect job of both raising it (causing a little bit of viral reaction) and then explaining in detail about it. Nothing worse than launching a new YT channel and getting stuck in a dull rut, I much prefer your approach, go for it guys! Fans long to hear exactly how you feel about these matters. Also, ignore your coaches or mentors about this. They are sure to prefer a 'safe' but dull approach. This practice of Lin Dan and some other players delaying between rallies... I can sympathize with him deliberately slowing the game down as he got older and lost the great physical condition that he had, but still desperately wanted to keep winning, so he kept trying the tactic of delay. By comparison, I find Marin's frequent scream to be unbearable so I no longer watch her matches. A couple of time a match would be ok
so since we are being honest, I would like to know what Hans and Anders think of carolina marin shrieking scream after each point? even when her opponent makes unforced error. I myself had to mute the tv when marin is playing 😅🤫🤭 Looking forward to seeing Anders photoshot with a cat and D&G suit! :')
Good question! I know lot's of people are annoyed unless they are spanish, carolina would scream from point 1 till the end and each scream is more dramatic than the others :') I am very interested to know what professional athletes think of marin dramatic victory scream
@@vallee7715 Hmm, they may be friends with her and unwilling to speak about it in a negative manner. Anders and Hans, will you be able to speak truthfully about this?
.... and the craziest thing about LD that no other player dares to even try ..... is that he has the MOST EPIC victory celebration ever, multiple times he's ran madly around the court, torn his shirt, crazy air punches, military salutes etc etc .... nobody ever has the guts to celebrate like that in badminton history, it takes a big personality to celebrate like that, you don't see that level of celebration in tennis either .... maybe soccer. LD will forever be iconic, he's born to be goat not just in skills but also personality ...
How would you try to make Badminton "easier" to watch in television. I mean, as a Badminton fan I love watching games of the stars but for many other people it seems to be quiet boring because it sometimes looks slower than it is or the atmosphere is not that great. You think one could try different camera postions or movements or anything? Also love the comment about vittinghus commentating next to Gillian Clark...she really adds much joy to watching badminton!!! Love your work guys! Cheers
Hey guys, you are doing a great job of hosting this podcast. I especially liked the part about you guys being honest in voicing your opinions, which is a rarity these days. Every sport celebrity worth their name has a PR team and will just mouth pleasing things, you guys are coming out as a breadth of a fresh air. Keep it going! Oh, by the way I have an interesting name for your podcast, how about Ands & Hans?!
Great podcast....I wanted to ask you how important mental fortitude is in the clutch part of the game??..your game against Momota where you won in 3 games and your game against Kidambi in World tour finals were treat to watch. You played exceptionally well in the later part of those matches, It was quite inspiring. 😃😃 All the best for olympics 👍👍
Please keep up the good work guys! 💯I think a podcast is all about sharing knowledge, experience and educating your audiance, adding a bit of entertainment or humor is alright. I think you guys are doing a great job. As the audiance we should also keep in mind that different people might have different perspectives or opinions. Sharing one's opinion is not a crime. I don't know about others, but I learned something from it. Please do not stop posting. This podcast is really informative.❤
Never mind. I’m on Weibo every day,and I didn’t know about what you said about Lin Dan. And it’s fine, you can just be honest to say whatever you want. It’s also interesting for the Chinese audience.
Great podcast guys, keep up the good work! Would be great if you could get some of the mens doubles players as guests like Astrup, Rasmussen, Boe or Mogensen to discuss their thoughts on the doubles teams qualified for the olympics
Again Hans, you won the Dutch International, but never won the Dutch Open, remember last time some guy called Momota came back on court ;-) Hope to see you perform here sometime again. Keep up with the nice podcasts.
Great stuff guys!! Question for next episode: Why am i right in saying that Women Singles owns Mens Singles at the moment? And why is it solely TTY's fault? :D
How to implement the forearm rotation into your overhead shots like smash and clear? Also please add in any thoughts from HK Vittinghus or Viktor Axelson. Love you, hoping that you win the Olymics
Good motivational talk! I'm 57 and haven't played hard for about 25 years, but I do believe that if I surround myself with the right people I can get up off this couch and make it to the refrigerator for a snack.
It was a good podcast Anders💯.In the next podcast you could talk about how will you prepare for match and what songs or playlist you’ll listen.how will you handle pressure situations.
Great podcast and topics are interesting. Q and A for next episode. 1) anders..how many kilometers you run per week to keep yourself physically fit for olympics or any tournament. 2)Hans. Do you change your play style to reduce injury as you are senior in your age group and want to prolog your career.
Thanks for this "Badminton Experience" (excellent name) EP 2 ! I appreciate your honesty, as well as your humour. Maybe, one suggestion : spend less time on each topic, in order to deal with more than 2 topics in the time of the podcast. Anyway, look forward seeing next one soon !
Hey can you do a podcast about rackets and strings? Tension, how often do you restring ur rackets, how many rackets you need per year, which racket specs you prefer ... etc. Thanks 😎
Nice video guys it's great to hear your insights on badminton ! btw 20:21 wouldn't you put the World Tour finals as big as an event like the world championship ?
I just read the comments in Weibo, I think some fans could be got irritated by the translation. Although people who watched Lin Dan's matches from 10+ years ago have to admitted that he slowed down from 2015 since injury and age
Is there any photo , two of you 5 years or 10 year back please share it Anders antenson is kid and h k vitinghus is less than 25 years of age . Really good to see that image
LD vs LCW is not even a debate It's not even close If this is an american sport, you wouldn't even hear about that comparison Lin Dan is clearly the GOAT LCW vs Chen long is a better argument
Please tell what kind of sport nutrition and adds do you use. And the deep question: why asian players generally better than european, just because of badminton popularity or something genetic qualities?
Even Malaysians will say LD is goat over their own LCW .... there's just no denying the lop sided h2h and majors.... for over a decade LCW tried to take down LD in biggest stage but failed to get a single big one from him, he came so so close a couple times but LD always has that extra notch in him to turn it on when he needs it, and he's also a mental giant, no other player has the complete package, hes the closest you can get to a perfect badminton player.....
2008-2010 version of Lin Dan is just ruthless and aggressive. He kinda slow down after 2012 olympic where he's more into tactical and strategy as Lee Chong Wei able to close the gap after that. LCW defensive abilities always get the best of Lin Dan so Lin Dan had to change his play style, they both push each other in a good way. Nowadays the Men singles is much tighter, Antonsen, Axelsen, Lee zii Jia, Chou tien chen, Momota, Loh kean yew, Ginting and Chen Long.
I love both Andres and Axelsen as a player but I have never seen them together in a vlog or chilling out together. I wonder if they are good friends outside the court.
I wish that you can invite asian famous players for the podcast (e.g. Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat, Kento Momota, Lee Zii Jia, Shi Yuqui, etc.). The only thing is that I dont think that they are fluent in English.
Just wanted to point out that Eriksen got a cardiac arrest and not a heart attack. These two are different as they have different causes! Heart attack briefly is caused by clogged blood vessels in the heart and arrest is caused by structural abnormalities/physiological disruptions.
Lmao Anders is taking soo long at the end and then has the audacity to tell Hans to do the outro. Could have stopped anytime before the 40 minute mark. Still, love your podcast, super insightful and interesting to follow your dynamic.
When Lin Dan is debated as the greatest none talk about Lcw , Peter Gade and Taufik hidayat. But when Lcw is debated as Malaysias greatest , tons of Lin Dan's fans said that Ld is better.
@@JohnSmith-kj3jyI didn't said Lcw is the greatest but Malaysian best player. Those Malaysian Lin Dan fans doesn't really know what they are talking. There is no player will be like Lcw, said Malaysian great Datuk misbun sidek.
Being slow on cpurt doesnt mean ur bad. It means you are so good at predicting and anticipating. And i believe he also can easily move faster but i didnt think there is need for that vexause he can cover all the court already.
Anders I do agree with you that LCW is the 2nd best MS player of all time. And I would disagree with Hans on his comment that you missed out a few others back then. Back then the game was much different. I would say less developed. If you watch the videos, the players were slower and less fit. Their overall body condition were not really in athlete’s condition maybe cause sports sci was not as developed as it was today. But whatever it is, those guys wouldn’t stand a chance against the 4 heavenly kings. I’m not comparing about talent wise because if they were born in this current era with the current training program and technology, who knows they may be actually better. But what I’m comparing is a player in his prime in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s against LCW. They wouldn’t stand a chance.
I agree. I also think we both agree on the fact that badminton players are better today than in the past. But their accomplishments in their era can still be better than the current players. If you get what I’m saying?😅
@@AndersAntonsen_official yea because the competition back then wasn’t as tough as right now😂. There were too few good players and challengers. But i think the highest level was from 2000-2014. The top 4 MS players and MD players were really good. I feel the current top 4 MS and MD players can’t compare to them. But overall, the level has increased.
Hey Anders, great podcast as usual, but please can you stop moving the microphone and banging your hand on the table? I know it's habitual but it causes a low frequency 'thud' on the ears every time. Thanks🙂
