Does anyone know why Nintendo doesn't make a nintendogs and cats switch version? I loved nintendogs, didn't have the one with cats but I always missed cats in the one I had. Would love to have both in an updated switch version. Agility trial was so fun to do
Sadly, a Nintendogs on the Switch is already unlikely due to hardware limitations. The Switch is lacking a microphone, a important feature that let you communicate to your pets in Nintendogs and enter them in Obedience Trials. Another very important feature the Switch doesn't have is the separate touch screen. The touch screen that lets you better interact with your pets using the stylus, throw discs with accuracy, guide your dog through a agility course at full speed, reel in a lure and much more. But you never know, it just wouldn't be the same or feel right.
This game is surely cute, I've been playing it for weeks but It will never be as good and funny as Nintendogs and Nintendogs+Cats. Those are at another level!! I know that Little Friends wasn't developped by Nintendo itself but Imageneer, but come on I can't even wash my dog or do agility trial which is the most common competition for dogs! And do I have to talk about the Joy-Cons calibration? SHAMEFUL, it's terrible especially in disc competition and during the walk... it drives me crazy every time! And what about those 6 dog breeds only!? Nintendogs for DS (2005) had 20 dog breeds and Nintendogs+Cats (2011) had 30 breeds + the Robopup! This game is focused more on the graphics and "cuddling moments" than the other stuff but... I'm not 8 years old anymore, I didn't need a 50$ HD Tamagochi 😅 Besides this game is full of bug and lag as well... I'm sorry but, in my opinion, it was way too early to release this game, too many things should have been fixed before release it. I wasted 50$
I agree. I hate that they made the cats in Little Friends look like aliens, while in Nintendogs+cats theyre fluffy and cute, move their eyes, and their pupils even change size according to lighting. Dogs and cats are more life-like in Nintendogs+cats
wait there is only 6 breeds of dogs? Instant reason to not by the game. If I cant unlock many different breeds, I dont see a reason for playing. Part of the fun of nintendogs was unlocking the breeds and the items. In which sometimes came hand in hand with unlocking 'rare' breeds. That was made the game long term playable. Having goals to reach, things to unlock and find. Something to achieve.
Nintendogs and Nintendogs+cats are some of my most favorite games in the world! I've had them for eight years or more, and still have my very first nintendog I've had since I was 7! I'm even playing them on my channel with my capture card now! Little Friends is a okay attempt for pets on the switch, but there are flaws you just cant ignore. Not having a microphone on the switch takes a part of being able to interact with your pets away and means no calling your dogs by name or teaching voice commands (and feeling awarded when 8 years later, your dog still recognizes you! True story for my first Nintendog I got when I was 7). No camera also means less interaction. There appears to be no baths. The closest you get to is brushing, which isn't the same without being able to give them a bath. With only brushing available, I can only assume your dog isn't allowed to get very dirty in this game, and if so it's another challenge that's missing. There's only one competition, disc, and it looks not very interesting at most. No feeling the thrill of racing through an agility course at full speed, or seeing your dog respond to your voice commands and do a good job as you would in Nintendogs. At home, you can't really relax with your pets since a song that is highly likely to get annoying after a while plays instead of some peaceful, natural outdoor sounds (and if you want music at home in the Nintendogs games, you can choose from several records to leave playing in the background!). Speaking of homes, I haven't heard any mention of there being different home styles in Little Friends the way there are in Nintendogs... From what I've seen, walks in Little Friends aren't as entertaining as in Nintendogs and Nintendogs+cats. There only seems to be one area to go walking instead of several different ones, and I don't see a park or gym to train at or cafe anywhere. Or anywhere to go, really. No puddles or trash to avoid, either? Do rainy days exist? Worse still, no neighbors and their dogs to meet. In Nintendogs it's always nice and sometimes funny to see what people have to say. In the first game, they can even comment on if you won a competition! As for their dogs, certain dogs are bad (Aster and Butters are notable bullies in the first game that are a challenge for your dog to make friends with) while others (like Archie's dog Spot!) have friendly personalities, and you can even see them again when visiting the park (or you can come with them to the cafe in Nintendogs+cats). In the first Nintendogs, the different versions even allow you to literally live in different neighborhoods with different people and dogs! Walks didn't have to be this bland in Little Friends, and this time it isn't even the switch's hardware's fault... The dogs and cats in Little Friends don't even acknowledge each other! They just walk around as if they're the only ones there. In Nintendogs and Nintendogs+cats, pets are aware they are together and will have no problem playing with each other. Interactions between pets are another fun thing to see in Nintendogs and Nintendogs+cats, and you can simply leave them with a toy and watch them have fun. And weirdly, despite the Switch having better graphics, they chose to make the cats weird-looking and alien-like, which I don't appreciate. It's creepy that the eyes of the cats don't even move, while in Nintendogs+cats the cat's pupils will move around and even change size depending on the lighting! Dogs will move their eyes around too. The dogs and cats are just more life-like in Nintendogs+cats. The cats were designed very well too and are very cute on 3DS graphics. Who says 3DS graphics are bad? Considering how good the graphics also are on the Switch though, I dont believe there's much of an excuse for Little Friends' weird-looking cats... Little Friends seems pretty lacking in features or anything memorable, which is why the Nintendogs games, which have something (or rather a lot) to them that's missing in Little Friends, is still standing in the test of time. As for Little Friends, I dont hear of it anymore. I would be ok with a different experience from Nintendogs if Little Friends just had a bit more added to it, and if it also had that something to keep people returning again and again and still have fun while at it.
Nintendogs was my childhood. I actually still prefer it over the 3ds version due to nostalgia. (And the fact that the 3ds version decided to break on me twice...) This sadly sounds like another one of the 100+ nintendogs knock-offs out there. I don't have much hope that we will get a Switch version, they would have to change the game a lot to fit the Switch. It will probably end up becoming an app if anything.
i was hoping this would be but it doesn't quite compete with the level of fun and cuteness of nintendogs+ cats,however,it's still pretty cute,i won't deny that :)

I liked nintendogs for the ds better than the one for the 3ds. Walking your dog was more customizable and the contest games were more fun. I hope they make a new nintendogs, but that they bring back the charm of the first game. I also hope they either include the cats again or make a separate game with cats, but I hope the cats can actually make more stuff than on nintendogs+cats. I feel like even though is not as common contests for cats also exist, and they could also create new ones for the cats so that we could also earn money from the cats, I feel like it was a missed opportunity. Also, they should improve the body language of the cats, so it reflects more so the one of a real cat and not of a dog.
I totally agree with you, I'm a cat lover and one thing I missed on nintendogs + cats was the fact you can't do much with your cat... Only earn owner points and nothing much really. Cats can go on a walk as well, they can learn tricks and they can be a really interacting mascot as well
Sadly, due to the switch missing a microphone and a separate touch screen, among other things, it's unlikely a good Nintendogs will happen on the switch. But you never know.
@@tigerboobooannsechler_offi44 Yeah, the lack of a separate touch screen is a major concern. The DS and 3DS having two screens gave a major advantage to the Nintendogs games. Without the separate touch screen you can't directly interact with your pets, throw discs with accuracy, race through a agility course at full speed, reel a lure, and so much more. I guess I shouldn't be surprised Little Friends was lacking in features and didn't last very long. I still play Nintendogs too! Some of my dogs and cats I've had for 8 years and I even have my very first dog still! Now I'm showing my Nintendogs and cats on my RU-vid channel and made several new Nintendogs videos recently!
@@Lizuma Resolving the touch part is not that hard, the switch has a multi touch screen, the problem would appear in dock mode, but i think that joycons can be used for that function, they just need to be well calibrated with the game, like 1-2-switch or Ring Fit Adventure, they have many interesting functions that have not been taken advantage of, like HD vibration, IR camera, and others, I think the only actual problem is the microphone, but maybe they can sell it with the game in fisical version, Colors live and Brain Training have their own stylus, and other games that need some accesory to work, or as an alternative to this, people maybe can connect their headphones with a cable or bluetooth, or connect their phone with some app.
I wish Nintendo would make a Nintendo Switch port of Nintendogs + cats I would love to play with Oreo, Roseanne, and Cookie (my Nintendogs- but cookie is a cat) on the tv tbh
Fun fact: let's say you were playing this game on switch lite, to throw a disc, you could shake the whole console (I don't recommend doing) and it will actually work
I used this as a review to see if I should add the game to my 2ds, and I decided %100 yes! All I gotta do is get the .cia file, insert it into the sd card, and download the game using FBI (My 2ds is modded, since I'm 12, it's one of my best achievements)
I had a really bad feeling that little friends was gonna be lacking.... plus I don’t understand because the tablet is touch screen... they could have made it the best nintendogs game.. and they fucked it
Honestly it isn’t that bad, but it does feel very limited. Like the fact you have to level up in friendship just to go on a walk or unlock the disc competition. I don’t like the way they just learn a command. Only 6 breeds of dogs and 3 breeds of cats? I feel like this is a game you’d let your baby sibling/cousin play. Kind of like a simplified Nintendogs
I use to play nintendogs and nintendogs+cats, and i got the little friends for nintendo switch I'll be honest it doesn't compare at all nintendogs is way better. Sadly I spend $53 in this game :/
I prefer nintendogs… this little friends is complicated. I don’t even know how to get rid of a pet. I accidentally got a female lab and didn’t see the gender. I finally found a male and named him after my dog. Now I don’t know how to get rid of the female..
I do have this game well a vary old one sadly it will not work i do remember some of there names rocky lolo and lucky lolo is the newist one tho im still trying to get it to work lets hope that it does i will also make sure all of my oter games still work to like build a bear club penguin sim animals africa world of zoo pet vet zoo tycoon and two mario games i do have a lot more soooo i do know that one of them is broken its ok tho bc i did not like that game a lot there is a 3ds somewhere that is used for hacking... and two ds's one is mine the 3ds is broken now tho soulder buttens are broken and scrues are stripd so we cant fix it sadly i soud get more games to it woud be cool i woud use my ds a lot more if i did to i still dont know where the chager for my ds is lol i think its caged tho XD im going to stop makeing this bc its sooo long
