In regards to your circuit breaker. If you're partial to welding. Send a dedicated circuit. It's own breaker. Maybe from a b32 up to a b40 .. send a 6mm solid core feed to a socket. Use this plug in your welder, it will only be running at 13amp to the plug. I did similar to a mechanics ramp as it was too heavy to be on (what I discovered) an existing circuit. I done as mentioned above and he's never complained again. Anything heavy / demanding you should dedicate a circuit/ breaker to it. So the existing circuit is also protected. Someone could be using a socket and your welding / breaker deactivated will piss them off too.

This build is coming along nicely. We all forgot about this concept but I wonder how much hp it’s gonna make. I say 300 with just the stuff u have on and tuning it to run just normal without giving off weird idles and lights(considering the stock version makes 138……… pitiful). The the real fun stuff begins after that. Lots of TUNING

@@cmattdabrat the best part about it is that it will be able to take more abuse considering the engine has forged internals. I think the oil issue became a blessing for this build. If something didn’t go bad u probably wouldn’t have rebuild the engine. Everything happens for a reason. I say this car will be able to hit 500hp faster than u think.

Hey Matt I was wondering did you get the idea to make this from the intake that Cruze Culture sells ? I stumbled across their website and they have one they sell that looks exactly like yours. It goes for around 600.00 bucks they said it made 11hp on a 100% stock 1.4 I'm curious what it will make on your motor love your video content keep them coming ✌out with your ✌out

@@cmattdabrat I think the first generation is better than the second generation. I’ve had to modify everything on my car which is a second GEN. Just to make it more enjoyable. I feel like everything they did on the second GEN was an afterthought LOL
@cmattdabrat
@cmattdabrat 2 года назад
@@davesworld2132 I hear that! Not sure why such a huge change in design. Only thing I don't care about in the first gen is the placement of the AC knobs, which my knees hit and change often.
@davesworld2132
@davesworld2132 2 года назад
@@cmattdabrat tell you what heres why. Holden made your car. And Holden is amazing!!!!! Mine is an Opel astra. And I’m pretty sure at that company most of the employees wear blindfolds while they put the car together lol. See that’s the best thing about that car the second generation has so many things that make driver comfort horrible that when you’re driving a first GEN knob placement is the biggest complaint which is awesome.
@cmattdabrat
@cmattdabrat 2 года назад
@@davesworld2132 A lot of truth to that. When I started my quest to boost the 1.8, I didn't know about Holden / Opel. Until I stumbled upon the Astra and Corsa VXR. It's the same engine, aside from the VXR having a 1.6, non VVT, and mechanical flat tappet cams. It would be nice to see GM adopt more of their vehicle designs for the US market. The Gen II Cruze reminds me of a Toyota. Complete departure from what made me love the Gen I Cruze design.

Thicker aluminum plate pulls a ton of current to weld which is probably why it keeps kicking the breaker. At my house I was practicing on 1/4" plate and it did the same thing to me lol. Also doesn't help that I have old outdated circuit breakers. Thin stuff is fine. Aluminum soaks up a lot of heat and pulls it away from the weld site since it is a very good heat conductor. My welder is a 250 amp transformer type and it takes almost everything its got to do 1/4" plate lol nice job btw it looks good!
@garyhowe88
@garyhowe88 2 года назад
Doesn't pull any more current than you set the welder to, I weld 1/2" aluminium all the time with a 200amp machine, all about preheat.
@cmattdabrat
@cmattdabrat 2 года назад
@@garyhowe88 It's an older machine. Goes up to 180 amps. It's either going to punch into it, or not. Preheating helps, but it's a little bit of a band-aid. The guy that helped finished welding it up had a 400 amp machine.

Hey brother! Today is the first time I've caught wind of your channel and I'm impressed!!. Being as I'm also in the process of making a custom intake manifold for my own personal vehicle this video really struck gold with me! Things like this will always generate smiles and flat out positivity PERIOD in the majority of people who also have fallen in love with making things that CAN be made on their own; ) of course I say things that CAN be made on our own in reference to there's simply just parts that have to be either made with certain types of larger machines such as a cnc and of course other parts like pistons ,rods ,stud kits and wheels and so on. Anyways thanks for the upload and I truly enjoyed it! Take care and stoked for the next video my friend! D.j.m, (NEVADA, U.S.A.

Hey DJM! Welcome aboard and thank you! One of the fun things about this project, and little to no parts availability, is creating what you can't buy. Heck, if I could forge my own pistons and rods, I would lol... but getting back to reality... an intake manifold, turbo manifold, etc. Going from a concept to a finished product is just plain ol' fun. I'd rather learn a skill to create something verses just paying for something that has been manufactured.

one you should be welding at about 200 amp your machine is small for that kind amps to be maintained if you want to use that machine for that change your gas to a 75/25 argon helium mix which makes the electrons flow faster across the the tungsten in turn will make your machine able to weld basically it will create more heat

@@thr33ninety28 Gotcha. In the ECU / ECM, it's listed as VIM, variable intake manifold. It can be turned off and set to zero so it's maps based off of RPM, don't affect the VVT and fueling. But just to please the ECU, I'll have it plugged in.. or I may not plug it in at all.
