This is “Kinda Souls” - my new series, where we play various souls-likes to see if they are worth the time and money spent, keeping it as spoiler-free as possible! Hello, Mighty Melvo here and today we are checking out Mortal Shell - a souls-like action RPG game made by a relatively unknown company called Cold Symmetry. Is it a good game? Is it worth buying at full price or should you wait for a sale? Is it worth picking up or is it just another half-baked Dark Souls rip-off? We’ll see!

I bought it 2 and a half years ago as my first ever soulsborne game. I loved it so much that, when I saw that there is a dlc on sale 70%, I waited to buy it in full price 😂.

@@remiaspergay9113 hahahahaha just imagine how much I enjoyed the game 🤣🤣🤣. I was even holding notes about stats for damage,hp,speed and abilities of every single thing in the game. This is the first thing I became a nerd about it.

Love the game! Its weakest point is its size and its boss roster really only has a few good bosses. BUT THE DLC was sooooooo much fun!

Man the game was fine, but the final boss was just a huge pain in the butt. The levels, the visuals, the combat were amazing but good lord I just hate the final boss and his attacks. Now that I think of it I actually had more fun playing DLC mode tbh. I wish Cold Symmetry would either make a proper sequel one day, or a sripitual successor to it because the foundation is solid.

Mortal Shell is awesome and it'snot only metal from a graphical point of view, it has two soundtracks: one by Atrium Carceri, one of the best dark ambient bands out there, and one by Rotting Christ, the most metal of all black metal band, making Mortal Shell actual metal, no pseudo-metal like Doom 2016/Eternal or Hellsinger.

@@MightyMelvo I have played Nioh 1 and 2, Code Vein, Death's door, salt and sanctuary, blasphemous, and Remnent. Blasphemous is a close second for me.

I Finished Demon souls, Elden Ring, Nioh 1+2 and Rement 2, Mortal shell was actually my first PS5 games but I never got around to finishing it, after beating Nioh 2 and looking into this game I finally feel ready to give it a go and beat the game. Wish me luck!

Someone said it's broing because you can just run and only fight the final boss, is it true?

It’s dlc but after you beat the game you have dlc called virtuous cycle you pick a shell and a weapon and it’s a randomized seed runs where you spawn in a random area and can find perks and have to run through each area to beat it then fight all the different shells and your timed it’s pretty fun to try and speed run it once you find a seed you like

It is possible, I've seen it happening but is very difficult to achieve and mostly can only happen by a glitch or something similar. So don't worry about this
