I don't feel that having all of the flashbacks at once at the end would be a good idea. It removes the satisfaction of putting it all together, plus it would sort of feel like it came out of nowhere. I think spreading it out not only builds more mystery but, if done right, could make the player feel more for Chaos throughout the story.
I love Sonic Adventure, it's not just my favorite Sonic game of all time, but my favorite game of all time in general, and I still think the story was confusing to follow and that Adventure 2 fixed that. This video is also great as well, although I disagree with having the flashbacks all at once just randomly like what another comment implied. Good on you for improving the story without removing any of the great character development!
With all do respect uh some of the character choices feel wrong. Why would sonic go to lost World instead of continuing to look for tails why would zero not attack big why would Amy leave big behind with a killer robot. I know she doesn’t know the guy but he just saved her life even if it was accidentally. Why would big go on his merry way not caring that a killer robot is trying to kill Amy Bigs stupid but even he’s not obvious enough to not realise when someone’s in danger he realised that froggy was in danger when he was trapped inside chaos. and he’s not terrible enough to not care when someone might die.
first eggman shatterd the master emerald with egg carrier, second egg carrier blow up because of things sonic did in sky deck. there is even a detail in the cgi where a one wing of egg carrier is missing (the one we blow up in sky deck)
Wow this would be so much better than the original. A few thoughts though: I never thought it was weird Eggman was 'controlling' Chaos; I saw it as Chaos was probably using him because he knew he would bring the emeralds to him, and then once they are all acquired, would betray him and enact his own plan. Like the tablets deceived Eggman into freeing and helping him instead of Eggman actually being in control. Knowing that the last emerald is in the Tornado on the the ship would be a reason for him to stop listening to Eggman and attempt to collect it, get beaten by Sonic & Knuckles, blow up the ship as a desperation move, and then follow the tornado to where it landed. I don't think having one single flashback later on would be a good choice, I personally like that kind of storytelling and feel it creates interest and suspense in wanting to know whats really going on instead of coming out of nowhere later on and holding your hand through it. A final flashback to tie it all together though would be cool. I kind of liked how Gamma didn't get to see the full picture of how cruel Eggman was until he accidentally saw Beta getting taken apart. The scene with him & Amy definitely needs more dialogue / context or a redo to make more sense than basically "give bird" "no" "okay you're right, I'm freeing you now" - also it didn't make sense why Amy still has the bird; would Eggman not have taken it when she was locked up?? And I think another level on the Super sonic story would have been great, I was a little disappointed that it was only a boss fight. Like SA2 did would be sick. Also it would be cool if there was more to the boss fight than just running at him.
Those are some excellent ideas friend! I especially like Chaos playing Eggman! I’m picturing cutscenes of Chaos rubbing his evil water hands together so we know he’s far more sentient than he ever seemed in the cut scenes of the real game haha! It’s a fun story to try to put back together differently. Hopefully I’ll find another game with the same kind of story and be able to make a video about that one as well! Glad you enjoyed it!
I personally think it was creative to have a False Climax around 2/3rds into the story, yet I really like your changes. I must say it feels weird to have Speed Highway before Chaos 0 fight & because of the At Dawn section I don't think it would fit that well. From what I understand Knuckles was supposed to hitch a ride with Sonic & Tails yet didn't to avoid having you go through Sky Chase Act 2 an extra time.
This whole thing is a mess. Cramming every characters stories into the same conflict so that they all conclude at the exact same time is terrible and makes the whole climax feel completely incoherent and gives none of their individual stories any room to breath. And all the added exposition to explain story details we were already able infer is unnecessary padding. We really don't need a whole scene to show Eggman finding some magical tablets, we already know he how he found out about Chaos, the details aren't important. The bits of dialogue we do get give us the basic jist and keeps the story simple and the pacing quick. Adding tablet mcguffins that control chaos is not only an unnecessary extra plot contrivance, it also completely undermines Chaos' entire character, the whole point of was that Chaos had his own motivations and wasn't just mindlessly working for Eggman, that's why he immediately turns on him after they lose the emeralds and Eggman gives up on Chaos. And even besides that, you're just trading one plot contrivance for an even bigger contrivance. And I think it goes without saying that having Tikal exposit her entire backstory in the middle of Chaos rampaging through Station Square is the mother of all pace breakers. Gamma's story is stripped of all it's dramatic weight by having all of his solo moments shoehorned into the bloated climax and forcing him to share the spotlight with everyone else. Having him meet Amy at Twinkle Park is really unnecessary compared to the original, even more so by the contrived reason of Eggman sending the E-series after the bird when that's already Zero's job. And in general changing around the series of events and rewriting Beta's role in the story only makes his story worse and takes away from the more personal stakes and slow burn of Gamma's eventual heel turn. Amy's story is giving more unnecessary padding with the whole stone tablet mcguffin and all just so she can't deliver more pointless exposition to Sonic so he can do the thing he was already doing, stopping Chaos and Eggman. It also takes focus away from her mission to protect the bird, and by extension her character growth of taking agency for herself to help someone in need rather than always rely on Sonic. Her story is all about helping a small little bird, it's relatively low stakes and benefits by having her mostly be uninvolved in the bigger conflict beyond the ways she gets swept up in it against her will. Tails having guilt and fear about letting Sonic down is unnecessary, his story was fine as it was, his arc was all about him being too complacent with having Sonic around to depend on, learning he needs to step out of his shadow and believe in his own strengths. I think the only change I agree with is having Sonic and Knuckles fight Chaos 6 together, as it felt really weird for Sonic to leave all those Chaos Emeralds on the egg carrier and blindly chasing Eggman. Though I don't think you gave Knuckles any reason to go to the Egg Carrier in the first place, he seemingly collects most of the ME shards and just randomly decides to follow the Egg Carrier and forget about the ME? If the last shards were in Red Mountain than Knuckles has no reason to chase Eggman and get involved with that whole conflict.
I still prefer Ruby of Blue’s where, instead of a second Egg Career, he uses a Mech that is meant to freeze Perfect Chaos as a back up plan. Also, I think Eggman was the one who broke the Master Emerald, thanks to the Egg career appearing in The first cutscene of Knux’ story. It just makes perfect sense.
I’m excited to see what it brings to the table. Looks kinda serious compared to the adventure games, but hopefully the fun is still there to be had in the gameplay!
I partly like your way of seeing history, But I feel like a couple of things could be fixed. -You added some meaning to Sonic's story (which is not just stopping eggman, but preventing a major cataclysm), but still... Knuckles has no reason to exist in this story, he doesn't play a fundamental role and, Even worse, him leaving with Sonic and Tails in the tornado means that his only important interaction (moving the angle of the egg carrier) does not affect Sonic's level. Flashbacks could be added to Knuckles' story, if nothing else, to at least serve as exposition of plot elements. -Tails, out of desperation that there is no one to save Station Square, is forced to deactivate the missile. I would like it to be the extreme of the situation that forces Tails to grow, and not that he draws courage out of nowhere to raise his self-esteem, that must be a consequence of his good will despite the circumstances. -Sonic has already learned to listen to his friends, especially not to underestimate them, thanks to Tails in Sonic 2, since the same developers described that relationship as "Gohan and Picolo." Sonic, despite allowing Tails to follow him (because of the little boy's surprising ability to keep up), did not show explicit interest in his innocent stalker, but still kept an eye on him to make sure he was okay. Little by little they increased their interactions and strengthened their friendship to the point of being best friends. It also happened with Amy, she is not his favorite person, but he understands that she is somewhat similar to him, two guys who can't stand boredom, although Amy works on a smaller scale. -Gamma does everything very quickly, the fact that he continues fighting after the Egg Carrier falls does not affect the story, since he is a character who works on the sidelines. If he manages to finish the task, he doesn't need to show at the end of the campaign how the 3 birds are reunited, just show that gamma frees the flicky from him. and then in the story of super Sonic it is shown how the 3 meet.
At the start of the video I felt ambivalent towards the idea of rewriting the story, I didn't think it needed to be improved but I do think that you have indeed improved it.
What bugged me was that no one said anything about all the people who died when Perfect Chaos attacked. Are we to believe that everyone was really, really good swimmers and able to dodge all the collapsing buildings and debris flying around?
1:16 No,I Have 0 Problem With That. I Actually Think They Could Make A Better Story There,Adventure 2 Actually Got A Bit Better But Still Not In My S Rank In A Tier List…
3:48 Eggman was the one the that shatter the Master emerald to releasted chaos in the original doffykey and 3:56 what froggy found in the forset was not chaos that was a piace of chaos more spificly chaos's tail You dolt
Dude your bad at darwing your jokes fall falt and you don't Even bother doing reserch to understand the story better before making this so becuase of that you add unnecessary stuff in the story and poorly change the context of the scenes which are not that hard to find out what cuase them if you put more thought into it or doing actual reserch
