@@doinglebonger1291 Lol I've come along way in 3 years. Funny I started out buying a buddy of mine older gen emaxx and now 3 years later that's gone and I have 15 brushless beasts!! This hobby is definitely addictive. But yeah I was pretty green when I asked that lol
The problem I've found with wet running is the wheel bearings seize, then with the bearing not working the stub axial spins inside the bearing. You would hardly notice this when running but it wears the stub axials away.
i like...that's a real waterproof test.. and Traxxas Ruslter are awesome... do you tink with the stock velineon systeme can do the same test? Nice video
I love the video. I am just surprised he doesn't figure out that when its completely submerged the water kills the signal. After your car dried out, did it work right again?
We ice race stock rustlers on ponds in the winter and have completely packed the battery compartment and everything with snow. Put it in the bathtub to melt and dry out and it ran all winter with no problem
No radio signal under water. You need a LONG antenna. Problem solved. I like the video, well spoken. I dunno if your gonna get the 2wd to cross the water no matter what. Gonna need the front tires pushing up above the water to maintain the nose. I subbed. I like it.
After watching your video, I just bought that car! Wish after 10 years from being away from the hobby Traxxas would have gotten rid of those crap rear tires. I remember on my old nitro truck I ate those things up after the 1st day of use. Harder now that there isn't any hobby stores now that specify in good remote control cars like Traxxas. Ordering everything online has a way of keeping your fun down. :P
I was told the 2.4ghz has to have the Metal end sealed, so the water doesn't short out the signal. Honestly, I have no idea, but I should probably test this out...
As for the stock electronics iv had over10 combos of the vxl both in my axial scalers and rustlers slash an more. But nothin is fully waterproof as ull see in my videos but the vxl can take a lot of punishment an i had one in a mud wraith for 2 years. Jus a chance u gotta take with the hobbie. O an get paddle tires they are supper fun to skip but u need a better run at it
The esc, motor, servo weather they are Velineon/vxl or SV-3/1406/1410..., XL5/21T are all waterproof. The 21T motor brushes will die quickly in the water due to the minerals. All the bearings, with the exception of the 21T brushed motor and it's bronze bushings. Are going to eventually suffer the wrath of the water rusting them out. But WD-40 is totally awesome for the rust problem!!! Then again I thought the Brushed Rusty came factory with bronze bushings in everything except the 6 transmission bearings. Since I suffer from not knowing it all, I could very well have called it wrong... . . .
It will handle sinking but now you have to lube all bearings there not water proof or fans. You can abuse your car but if you want it to last give it some oil on metal parts after. Getting it wet. Fun video . I have skipped my slash like a rock through bigg puddles it's fun . But alot of oil time 😆
they are water resistant mine fell into my pool for like 30 seconds and it does not work it just short circuits ( might also because when I first got it we went to san Diego and I got salt water in it and that might be why)
I get you did this for the video, but a lot of people know the electronics are waterproof, all the steel headwear isn't , but thanks for the cool vid 👍🏻
R/C Nation Studios does it over over heat quickly or does it last a good amount of time because my engine overheated and fried it and the Souter came off from the heat
theres no such thing as ''water proof'' if they wer honest it would be ''water Resistance level 70 dont go to a lake and drive it into the water and expect to be top shape''
Bougth the Rustler on 10Aug18 and since then some part or the other has been breaking; it cant even do half the things shown in this video without breaking something. Poor quality Traxxas.
