Just some raw jumps. Setup includes a castle element (sv2) esc with a tacon 540l 4000kv and 32 pitch gears. It also has a 3s ecopower 3400mah hardcase lipo in it. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BROKE, but a few shockcaps popped off! Any question can be posted below.

when did he say modified? this video is misleading to those that might think this is a stock machine and when they try to jump or do some of the things he's doing it falls apart. It could have better presentation.

you should let me drive it. I bet I break it in about 5 minutes. if I drove my rustler that hard, even thought about it, something would break. I don't know if I have the worst luck ever or what but I've gone through and upgraded everything and I still only get 5 min runs. race, repair, repeat.....

Is this the VXL rustler? I got the Xl-5 for my birthday a few days ago. Yes it is a bit slow.... but I have already broke a caster block on the front and popped a rear shock cap off with 3.5 feet jumps on air. you must have all aluminum and RPM. The stock stuff can't even handle 3 foot jumps. I mean it might a few times...

Try getting aluminum shock caps, some rpm parts, aluminum trans gears and it’ll make a world of a difference. I like the rpm stuff because it’s tough plastic and gives a little flex so it doesn’t snap. And you can always throw a brushless castle motor and esc in your xl-5 and it’ll be a new monster for under 100$

The main rustler in this video has the following upgrades: castle sv2 esc, tacon 4000kw long motor, custom 32 pitch gearing, proline tires, aluminum links, hq shocks in the back, stock in the front with aluminum caps from strc, rpm shock towers in front and back, rpm arms, and rpm front bumper.

Ouch ive only jump my 2wd lcg slash like that one time an brok an shattered the bulk head f arms crushed the rims brok. F & B shock towers bent shocks cracked chassis my battery wint flying with wier riped out the esc never agin... but very cool to wotch other people it lol

I had the same issue when abusing my Rustler... I blew one of the front shock caps... Maybe Traxxas should give us a finders fee for pointing out this flaw on stock components!

dude same here, i was getting some air a bit driving on a bumpy dirt section in my neighborhood what was under construction. checked on the car and was wondering why the front was sagging so much, come to find out the caps are caps are gone.

Get some Proline Badlands massive 1/8 scale wheels&tyres and oversized shocks. Helps heaps aswell as increases all aspects of Rustler. Wheels allow you to self right, increases speeds heaps and when crashing or bashing big it sounds like a rubber ball bouncing instead of standard plastic rattle. Avagud1

The castle 4 pole 3800kv and 5700kv are both much faster than both of those

+George Dipaula there is now way the 5700 kv is faster than the tacon. I have both.While the tacon is a lower kv, it's much more powerful which means you can gear it faster. what matters is watts, not kv so whichever is highest is the fastest. This is very generalized though because each motor has a different efficiency but in rc this is mostly true. I would say the castle sct motor is probably a little faster than the tacon but I can't be sure.

Get an rpm shock tower. They don't break. You could also just glue the shock tower back together with CA.

ANo NyMaTa : on était 3 amis, moi avec un traxxas rustler, un autre avec un Tamya a presque 400 EUR.,l autre avec un buggy LRP. Au deuxième jour , les deux rc de mes amis étaient cassés.la mienne a roulé longtemps d origine, au bout d un an je l ai vendu et je n avais encore pas changé de piece.juste des petites fissures sur la carrosserie , C est vraiment du costaud.un vrai plaisir. D ailleurs, ça me manque et j envisage de m en reprendre un :) . Un vxl cette fois.

Infinite Remote Control that is not true at all. My heavily upgraded rustler breaks all the time on only 2s, and I think I’ve only driven it once on 3s without breaking it. However, my Arrma Kraton V3 so is far more durable, and I’ve been doing giant jumps with it. It’s also much better quality.

Beginner rc we basically replaced everything we broke with an rpm alternative. All you would really need is a rpm bumper, rpm arms, rpm rear shock tower, and 32 pitch gears. Aluminum shock caps help a lot too. If a shock shaft bends just take it apart and bend it back, no need for a new shaft or shock.

By breaking I assume you mean stripping. We had that same problem too so we upgraded to 32 pitch gears verses the stock 48 pitch gears. Just make sure you keep the gear ratio relatively similar.

This is the one problem with RTR, since you didn't build it yourself it can be hard to understand when something goes wrong, sadly non RTR is hard to find nowa days

Trying to put somebody down because they are fortunate to have parents that made good decisions in life and can afford a nicer house and things than yours is just jealousy. Good for him if he buys his own. Good for him if his parents buy him stuff. Im sure his parents worked hard to get where they are at. Focus on making yourself better instead of trying to put others down. It wont work.
