Many people are asking if Music City is ready for MLB. It's a valid question since nearly 12,000 people attended the Nashville Sounds game Sunday afternoon against the Texas Rangers.
I live in Atlanta and I honestly think it's pretty lame that we have no true regional rivals aside from Miami. I'd like to see another team in the Southeast...whether it's Nashville, Memphis, Charlotte or Raleigh.
I live in Tennessee I'm a braves fan have been for a long time mostly because they're the closest to me but I would love to see a Tennessee MLB team I would root for them but at the same time it would break my heart having to leave the braves
It would never work too many people in Tennessee myself included are braves fans it’s just kinda ingrained in you if your from the south your a braves fan
I mean I would love to see it, but do we also have space near downtown to build it? We will also need to fix the traffic problem that will come with it.
Nope. Nashville is not ready. One huge reason: Entertainers who got involved with Broadway nightlife are lobbying for a downtown location. Bad idea. Baseball games are played all 7 days of the week & you cannot get 35k fans to the stadium Mon-Fri. Now way. If they built the stadium/development where the old Sounds stadium was (south Nashville-Melrose area), getting to the game would be possible. Over 60% of season ticket holders will be from the South, southeast & eastern Nashville areas. If they stopped listening to dopes like Taylor Swift & actually reached out to likely season ticket holders, they could make it happen. But they wont.
Hopefully so, I’m sick of going to Braves games. I’d love to have some more options. The Reds and Rays are next closest but those involve 6+ hour drives. Something 2 or 3 hours would be nice.
Not much going to matter here if the MLB decides to get rid of over half the minor leagues. Where the hell is Nashville going to get it's talent from. If it doesn't have any farm clubs to pull from. This is the latest stunt from the MLB which really kind of just boggles the mind. MLB is trying to claim that over half of the farm clubs in the country. Are not up to MLB standards. It's a f****** farm club for christ's sakes lol. What's important is the quality of talent coming out of the minor leagues. Fact they have to rough it a little bit probably not a bad thing. This whole restructuring bulshit is going to ruin baseball. I'm all for Nashville getting a team. As long is the minor league stays intact and not gutted like the MLB is proposing.
