Honestly, ETS2 has not felt the same to me ever since Naturalux died with 1.40. I miss the skyboxes so much and I really really hope it’s able to come back. You already know how I feel on sharing it or not (thanks for the mention in the video haha), but yeah I totally agree with you that it should be able to be shared unless Kirill comes and says he doesn’t want that, in which case that should be respected. Also, good to have you back bro, please don’t apologize for lack of videos though, life always comes first and we totally understand of course!

I think the point is respect. Even with a specific refusal to share, in some sense the author has released the mod for public use. If the creator can't be contacted after reasonable efforts - AND the mod is not functional anymore due to changes in the game itself, then you credit the author and update the mod and share it. The mod should not change in any substantial way in terms of function - it should remain true to the author's intent and only be adapted to meet that function. It should also be understood after decades of modding now that unless you expressly forbid use in all cases, tacit approval is implied. Mods go stale all the time. Creators know that. Smart creators put an age out permission in a mod "After 9 months of no activity - do whatever' sort of thing. It's just dumb to lock away great creativity behind abandonment by the author.

I dont use nauralux as i do set up my own skybox in ETS2, But with that said it does look good and hopefully will give pleasure to many ETS2 users.

I think Kox Suser should share this . This a gem of a mod and everyone loves it . There are 100 of examples where people have reworked trucks mods and shared it and then asked for permission from OG author . Even EVR aounds were reworked for new fmod . When the OG author wants to come and he makes his decision we can respect it . But if hasnt responded now i think he can share it .

I agree with you on most points, but ideally Kirill would come back and agree to everything before it goes public - I wouldn't be too comfortable releasing a mod that doesn't really belong to me without the explicit consent of the original author. Naturalux looks amazing, and I hope it'll be able to make a return in the end!

This might just be my two cents on the topic, but Damian's Project Next Gen (since the newer Version 1.04) in combination with 2.5-8k JBX skyboxes do everything Naturelax did just to a way superior and more detailed degree. PNG is one of the few mods I gladly pay money for with 8k roads, new vegetation details, renewed textures in different assets and map areas, etc. I'm not huge on paying money for mods, but ever since update 1.04 of PNG dropped my Ets experience has enhanced tenfold and I can't imagine myself playing without it anymore. Now that version 1.05 will drop soon in the upcoming weeks I am hyped as f***. Please keep in mind I am talking about the NEW(ER) versions here. Version 1-1.02 were nothing super special I would ever advise people on buying, but right now the mod is simply amazing. And to clarify, no, I don't get paid by anyone, lol, I am just that happy and impressed by his recent work. For people who care there are some interesting RU-vid videos of the 1.04 version people can look up or one can watch his screenshots on Facebook, they are pretty telling.

@@TheClumsyGeekGaming Personally, although I really dislike that PNG changed to money for updates (although it's kinda weird, it's not for every update, it's like sometimes you pay and sometimes it's a free update), it is the best graphics mod for ETS2 and ATS right now. I would definitely recommend it. I've been using it for a while now and am really liking it, although I would still rather go to NL if it can come back (please let it come back lol)

@@Omisake It is the best graphics mod for Ets/Ats, agreed. Update 1.05 which will come out soon will be free for 1.03+ users. And Clumsy it's honestly worth checking out. Maybe when version 1.05 drops you can look into it soon. For me, it's 100 percent worth it nowadays.

@@Omisake Yeah, I was rly hyped for the winter mod too, especially since it looked pretty great in the screenshots. But good things take time. I was looking forward to it since Grimes Winter Mod is just too buggy with missing road textures, discoloration on promods assets etc. Anyways, Project Next Gen has changed my Ets2 experience completely for the better. I understand people dislike paymods, but this is one of the few I'd support like Zeemods or Fred. I also pay for the Promods updates. Some things are just worth buying, other things are not.

The same thing happened with Piva and his Scania S computer dashboard mod apparently, which AlexeyP picked up, and now someone else has updated it. In this case everyone had permission, which is good cause Piva's computer dashboard is top notch. I find it very hard to play using the vanilla dashboard. As for graphics and weather, I only use Grimes's stuff. It works for me, but this Naturalux sure looks really good.

I always used naturalux back then it was the best grahpic mod it's a shame it stopped working or didn't update it anymore but now I see it again I miss the mod I stay a bizarre beautiful graphic mod

Hi Clumsy! The first author of Naturalux is not died after a very long illness ? From memory, I think it was explained in an opening post on the old official Naturalux website. If the original author is dead, it will be very difficult to get his consent. But maybe I'm wrong because it's getting old.

just send an email to the original owner saying, if you don't have any objection we have modified your mod to be compatible with the latest ETS2, gonna release it to the community with mentioning it is a modification of your mod. if you don't get an answer with objection, just release it. btw. nice video again.

Hello again clumsy, wondered if you can help, Im trying to learn to use dolly trailers by kast. Ekeri addon for tandems I believe, any idea why non of my cargo pickups require me to reverse into warehouse bays? All of them just need me to drive straight through some cones and then its loads the cargo, is this just something that ets2 does if you have a dolly attached?

Ah yes, you need to set a console command to allow advanced parking. I think it's g_simple_parking_doubles 0 . Default is 1 (simple parking). Setting it to 0 unlocks advanced parking for those dolly trailers. Enjoy!

I use a mod called realistic fov or something like this. It should be in the mods list (link in the video description) under accessories iirc.

sharing the mod is okay for me, if he has reached out and never got any feedback then i would say its okay to share until the original author says no, and i am sure he will credit the og guy. and he will be sharing for free just as the og mod was free.

Imagine if SCS added food bar in ets2 and ATS and you have to go through drive way(idk what its called) and buy food and also an easter egg that if your food bar is more than 50% you can't enter into Hungary because your not hungary
