Even though indian govt. asks you to have either NET or PhD, private colleges and univ. asks you to have NET, despite having a PhD. They wish to hire labourers (not employees) on minimal wages but wish them to be highly qualified, intelligent, and brilliant. Funny.
Well private colleges want to make good returns on investment. Minimizing wage costs is the easy way to get this. This is happening throughout the world. In the USA temporary adjunct professors do most of the teaching work. This is a major issue in higher education.
@@Drganguli well. After doing a PhD, I feel it's worthless. Rather one should go for professional courses such as in AI. Life long struggle after studying for almost 27 years of my life out of 30.

In case I clear the PhD interview conducted by one of the US universities in March next year, can I wait till July or August and then proceed for visa interview? Actually, the portal opens a bit late for the European universities and I am prioritizing Europe over USA. Please tell me the best solution.
You should book an appointment with the us embassy or consulate as soon as possible as you get admission and I-20 from us university. Getting an appointment is itself a difficult task nowadays as many people apply for visas. You can delay the interview date till later but the problem is that if you get 221g then it may take 1-3 months to process that. So it is best to get the interview done with as soon as possible. I hope you know about 221g and 214b problems.
@@academicgladiator Yes of course people get visa and do not go. That is why they take a good amount of money as visa fees. But in that case one should inform the university that they are not joining as a matter of professional courtesy. The seat may then go to some other person.
