A lot of John's numbers dont match your numbers on your speadsheet. I think yours are correct and his are off by 4 or 5 on swing weights and not sure about his spin rankings either.

The newer Legacy Pros have a much different grit than the older ones too. They are more spiny now.

I have a Falcon Elite. I thought it looked like a pistol…..someone I played with, said it looked like I was playing with a clipboard. I got mine for $159 since it was the first production run. I have number 286 of 500. I can serve great with it….it took about 5 days to get used to it, but I love it. I can get some great angles and do some things I couldn’t do with a traditional paddle.

I had used a CRBN 1X and recently tried the Pickleball Ape 17” paddle. I am a 4.0 older player and I had no problem with hitting the sweet spot. I agree the paddle is softer and doesn’t quite have the put away power as compared to the CRBN. On the flip side, I don”t think I missed a 3rd shot drop all night. The Pickleball Ape may be my paddle of choice now.

I played with the Apex along with 6.0 Dbl Diamond, Vatic Flash, Volare, Ronbus, Legacy, Vaticv7 Prism, Apex good price just need to get use to it. Nice video guys ❤

Marcin Rozpedski, OG of Pickleball (look him up). His signature paddle by Engage, the Elite Pro Blade which subsequently was upgraded to the Poach LX was a 17incher. Marcin was a phenomenal player during his era pre knee issues.

The issue with ALW, in my opinion, is everyone had built her up with this god-like persona. Dave F is always swooning over her and BJ. I don’t blame her but if you’re “the face” the standard and bar are higher and she should know that regardless of age. May not be fair but it’s where we’re at.

On the topic of soft vs stiffer paddles, Chris or Will have you actually observed less control on the Six Zero DBD compared to softer feeling paddles that are similar? For example when I went from the DBD to the r1 pulsar it felt very similar but softer and I liked that, then I went back to the DBD again to see the difference and it felt noticeable stiffer but just as easy to control and it felt great. So in this specific case I felt kind of like my initial reaction to the softer feel of the r1 was just some psychological attachment and I can't really back it up with any concrete advantages. In general though, I agree that softer is usually easier to control.

Bird offered the paddle for 150 right after it got approved - but the back-order time was nuts. On the up side, it has a lifetime warranty plus, if they upgrade it, you get the upgrade free

Chris, I received my Prism 14mm and it feels lie it has more grit than Zane's or the 006. I can really shape the ball with this paddle. You just got your 14mm Prism, how does the spin #'s on it look like?

Thanks for speaking up for ALW. I remember when I was 16, playing basketball, and was a jerk and sort loser on multiple occasion. Surprised my opponent didn't punch me. Yep, let's give her a break. Yes, she wins a lot. But let's be honest, Pickleball tournies would not be as fun to watch without ALW.

Wait.... resets were weird for you? 😅 Maybe its just me then, resets feel amazing after adding two layers of 5 inch 2g/in lead tape to the throat. Also a bunch of practice doing it. My put aways have probably been some of the best they've ever hit; my reach via the extra .5 Inches length has improved ironically enough. Some shots I barely missed before or had it tip my edge guard, I can either comfortably hit or just barely get on the edge of the sweet spot & make some stupid occurrences. I'm not sponsored, but I do VERY much enjoy this paddle so far.

Wait! If she had thrown her paddle in anger, I think that would have been considered a normal reaction. The cheering, and waving to the crowd was weird, but hey, she's a kid. Will - what were you doing? How did you not know what was going on? This was a banger tournament.

I know a head of paddle company that has one of Zane’s paddle and he says the numbers are off the charts. That saw paddle is nothing new. I see a guy at my club with another company version. He loves it. He has bad elbow issues and it helps a lot

This style was around about 4yrs back. I guy from AZ makes them and still plays with it. I tried it to help with tennis elbow stuff. Couldn't used to it, especially on strong overhead slams. Hard to keep stable without over squeezing which is bad on my elbow. I would really like ProLine Apes to make a model that was just a bit wider and not as long. I have a Cheetah Predion E10 with those dimensions. Not a two hander, so handle length is not that important to me. Rather have the extra width. Also would like it in 14mm. What I'm hoping for is that the Kevlar in the weave will help with "adhesion" to the core. On the ALW thing, females have different emotional make ups than males that show up from time to time... if you know what I mean😉

Still 16, yes. However, the PPA has been putting way too much stock in AL and warping her young mind. THe ONLY way to handle it is to address AL and let her know she can’t act that way. Teach and guide her. DOn’t make excuses for her. Everyone will forgive someone who is humble. Just address it and be humble.

Regarding ALW: She's 16. Still growing up and under an intense spotlight and pressure. I think she didn't know how to deal with it. Which is understandable. She may be playing Pro and since 12, but that doesn't mean she's an adult with experience to handle all the pressure. How about some compassion people. I don't think Anna Lee meant disrespect to Tyra or wanted to pull attention away from her. ALW & her mom also seemed to be having some tense words on the bench. So growing up as a Pro, and your mom as a coach. Tough. Adults are not perfect at all. Other "adults" throw paddles, break them and don't even get fined.

Lots of pissed off engage ultra owners.. Grit wears off in no time and they paid stupid money for it.. Engage has to do something for the ultra buyers or they will lose customers. Big discount on new pro or something..

In my opinion she reacted to the obvious eventual loss and the relief that she immediately felt. Those people who wanted her to lose got their wish. Those who appreciate her skills saw that she is not a robot that can never lose. She didn’t immediately acknowledge the separate moment of the win by her opponent but I understand how graciously acknowledging her opponent is within her character and not a momentary character fault.

Any reason you can't post some pics of these paddles and such.?? Leave it to the "youngsters" (20-30 year olds) to try and F with the system...?? Why do all these guys want to "Frankenstein" their paddles. This Sh$$ is going to ruin the integrity of the game before it ever gets running properly.. These guys would probably cork their bats as well if they played baseball...

ALW’s thing was very weird. I’m not sure why Will is surprised it was a big deal. It was very unsportsmanlike. Her only defense is that she’s 16. Which basically gets her off the hook. But imagine if Ben Johns did the same thing. It wouldn’t be okay.

I don't buy the age thing as the excuse. Sorry, but there have been other athletes at 15 and 16 yrs of age that have learned how to lose honorably. I think she had better get used to it because the women are catching up to her and in another year or so, there will be much more parity at the top of women's pickleball. Also, to defend her on account of how amateur players behave is also a flawed argument. Amateur players can act however they want ... no one is watching them on TV, no one is paying them prize money, and no one is sponsoring them the way ALW is.
