This show is a good counter-balance to other American shows that tend to portray Asians as nerdy/chubby. It shows to tv audiences that Koreans and, by extension, Asians are dynamic and have strong body types as well. Thank you Korean for elevating the image of Asians in media! It shouldn't have anything to do with physique, it should be what the show's premise, most people here are bodybuilders, while I think htere shouldbe some bodybuilders here as they lift weights and they're strong but people that train for strength like strongmen would be better, sprinters, wrestlers, strikers, gymnasts all kinds of people should be here but it's all people taking tren.

I LOVED THIS SHOW‼️🇰🇷💯 I've lived in Japan and China for 2+ years each so have respect for Asian culture and love to compare and contrast. I've only visited Korea once decades ago so I'm only getting to learn and think about contemporary Korean society through the lens of pop culture output. K-pop will never be my thing but K-dramas, movies, reality shows are my jam these days. I'm fascinated by the cultural nuances around showing respect and using the proper honorifics based on age. Even in the dramas there's usually some re-enforcement of showing the proper deference to someone senior. Now I understand even better why the contestants on Singles Inferno couldn't know each others' ages because they wanted to factor that out. Plus I loved in Physical💯 how the teamwork and respect for each other were woven throughout. The American, in-your-face cockiness was never a thing. Mad props to the producers and looking forward to another season! Hope they bring back certain competitors like Yun Sung Bin for a second go‼️❤️🙏🏾

Good show. Very exciting to watch :) SPOILER ALERT, stop reading this comment if you haven't seen the show yet! I found it interesting in the end that it were not the truly ripped guys that prevailed, but rather the stocky built dudes. When you see that one guy, the one who had his gf on the show. He's massively built, but then you saw him struggle hard in the Atlas contest, against 2 stocky guys who went on for over 2 hours! Now, tbf, that contest is more about endurance than pure strength, yet there was this one little voice in the back of my head that kept creeping up..."roids", and how they may bulk up your muscle, but actually not build up your true strength.

It's great that Kshows are doing more for Asian representation than what American TV will ever do. We're gonna see alot more Kreality shows. They're very cheap to make and they get good ratings. Most people don't know this, but Singles Inferno 2 got almost as high a rating as Too Hot to Handle 4 which both aired earlier this year on Netflix. But SI2 didn't even give prize money and was a fraction of the cost. That's Korea's business model for TV and everything else it exports. Make high quality content at a low price. The best example of this is Squid Game which cost a ridiculously low $21M to make.

I will admit I watch a lot of Korean content simply because what you get out of the West is rehashing the same thing over and over again. I did enjoy this show and found myself holding my breath during some of the events. I was surprised that some of the more physical challenges pitted men again women and did note there was a bit of mysoginy from the male contestants. It was good to see when the one team lead by a women was able to win their event and then get the props they deserved. I do hope seeing more variety of body types as shown here will filter into other areas of entertainment. The only time you see a buff man in a KDrama is when they are playing a thug or the strong arm in a police drama.

It's sad cause there isn't necessarily anything wrong with kpop pretty boys IMHO..in a healthy society this image Can coexist with buff bros, but given the west's lacks of exposure to east Asia and Asian culture, some will inevitably come to formulate stereotypes ., which is rather annoying if you live here. I didn’t watch this strictly because of “representation.” I watched it because I like these sort of The Challenge-like competitions and thought it was cool to see something like this take place in another country where their citizens compete, instead of it being Americans and Europeans competing on a show in a different country. I also like how the competitors were all very respectful to each other, even though they may have been some that were cocky, etc. I also love that it was a Challenge-like show without all the drama. The ONLY thing I ABSOLUTELY HATED about the show was it’s EDITING!!! I got irritated very quickly by the incessant use of replaying shit over and over. It was like a kid discovering PowerPoint slide transitions for the first time. To make matters worse not only do they replay the footage, they replay the audio. So you have to hear the same cheers three times too. It was too damn much and while I hope they have more seasons of this, I pray that they clean up the horrendous editing.

This show has it's strength on promoting the image of potentially peak performance (on the surface). But as a physical worker (food industry and carpenter) I've often surpassed many on endurance on the daily as I have extra weight (extra reserves 😜) to help me go throughout the whole day. It has been proven that under a specific % of body fat. Most cannot work (physically) over several consecutive hours as they need to stop and consume more energy. As you said some have strength in specific fields and therefore can't compete with others. Just in construction the worst "killer" for most (gym junkies) is the endurance as we work easily 11 to 14 hrs per day with 2 breaks in our day. Our diet is based on huge amounts of carbs and protein as to be able to work for long periods of time. Without the intake of carbs in our diet we would have chiseled bodies like theirs but we wouldn't be able to work with the same intensity as we do right now.

I watched all nine episodes. found that show unsatisfying. I didn't like how people got voted off in teams. I would rather see more individual competition to make it more fair for all the contestants.

I was blessed with the non typical Chinese/Asian genes physically very tall muscular lean body type. I’ve alway competed with top athletes in basketball and football at my public school systems that produced many NFL and NBA players. When I was competing race never entered my mind.

@@jasonk.-im6od ohh. Because it sounds like you're young. But also..it sounded a Lil mean-spirited towards your fellow Chinese. ..a little too eager to align urself with others...I mean look at, the physique of these 4 goofballs....you might be " ashamed," of how they look given that your minority and ur entire existence is largely based upon seeking approval of the majority group under whose standards you live. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QrKoRhHcb-o.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QWfH6BI6tw0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bDHWxaDkqhQ.html Yet you know what, between tall you and smart them, I'd say they are more useful to your race then ur b ball skills The Asians r blessed I'n many ways..this includes physically, but its their intelligence thats the most importante and admirable. The fact that some look like this is no grounds for shame.

Anyeonghaseyo (bow)... some were respectful, for like the old guy with glasses or the bald guy with the "Fu Manchu" look. If I was offensive, to people, then I am sincerely sorry. You had the two quiet "Squid Game"-type guards with the gray suits. This Show had a White Guy and a Black Dude. Cool people from All Walks of Life: Buff Fitness/Bodybuilders (Sexy Yama), (Euro) Strongman contest types, armed forces types, Tae Kwon Do martial artists, amateur wrestlers, Olympic bobsled athletes, boxers and MMA (Octagon) cage fighters. It is kinda like "American Ninja Warrior." This Show will definitely Make Bank.
