Why would this koppen fellow get it all right in his first ever time signing players. It's inevitable he is gonna mess up just like Beale who actually did not bad, considering it was his first time building a team too last summer. We really should have got an experienced manager that has experience in signing players/building a team like celtic have with Rogers or Ange before him. We haven't learned from the Beale experiment and brought in yet another amatuer rookie taking up his first job at Rangers. Makes us look like such a small time club. At least Beale was actually AT Rangers alongside Gerrard for a few years. He got to know Scottish football and what type of players he needs. He may have got most of them wrong, but if u look at Lammers in Holland, Dessers goal tally? Yilmaz talent injury aside, Danillo the same. You can see why he bought them. whereas this guy Koppen has only been in Scotland less than a year and was merely a scout ar PSV not buying players. Clement is just a coach. I'm not sure who our manager actually is......? Well in fact we have TWO managers.... No, really we have a head scout/chief buyer and a head coach. One looks for players, builds a team and does all the negotiation and the other takes nothing to do with any that, just turns up at training & takes to coaching what he's been given then picks a starting 11 from the squad handed down to him. For me, that's a totally foreign thing, and NOT the Rangers way. All of our successful periods and managers as well as celtics too.... have all been proper managers who build their own teams... Smith, Souness, Advocaat, McLeish, O'Neil, Postacoglou, Rogers. Even Gerrard you could argue he wasn't a success 1 title out of 3, 1 trophy out of 9. And he had Mark Allen and then Ross Wilson, who was sacked he was that useless. I think the evidence is totally overwhelming that having 2 men making up a full manager like Walter Smith or Souness just isn't right for Rangers and the Scottish League. It's overkill. It's not a bigleague with 20 teans and even 4 or 5 clubs who can realistically win it. Its only a 2 club league, u just have to be better than ONE team. You only need a man that can build a team to beat that orher team already built up by their manager. Thats the way its always been and the reason celtic are so dominant over us, because they have stuck to that traditional model. It's so obvious a d a manager like Walter would have signed Shankland long b4 now, take the best from Scottish football who are either bluenoses or get the league and give it their all. As well as a that foreign flair or types of player that atent available here
