IS RESORT THE WORST MAP IN RISING STORM 2 VIETNAM 

The problem with Resort is it's entirely reliant on pilots, 3/4 of the games don't get off the beach, and the other 1/4 tends to be a US steamroll.

Unpopular opinion: resort is a fantastic map, but us needa good pilots and those roles tend to be taken by fucking apes. Im cheeky so i always rush the roof of last point with a squad then we hunker down there. It usually ends up with ua dying eventually but the vc allocate too many so they end with not enough manpower on A

My favourite thing is sitting with a dp28 on top of the lighthouse and for some reason even when the game pushes forward you can still stay up there. The combat zone message just dissapears.

One of the biggest reasons this map doesn't work is because everyone is too stupid. So notice how the first assault is usually the best or only chance to take [A]? Thats because it's the only time to have a massed assault with multiple helicopters. After that, for the entire remaining duration, the attackers will just funnel in one heli at a time, which the entire defending team can then focus on and easily deal with. If the heli pilots on the other hand would simply wait for each other, and head in together, every subsequent attempt would be as or more effective as the first. Especially when defenders ammo starts to wane, and they become restless. But people are so impatient that they wont wait for all the helicopters to spawn and fill up, so they instead spend the entire match making repeatedly futile attempts and dying every time. The fact that the Resort map was made as it was eludes to the developers believing that their playerbase were far more intelligent than they really are, unfortunately. They assumed something far higher, but instead, we know resort as we know it...

This map is the reason I became a transport pilot main. I have a love hate relationship with it. Flying on this map is easy, all the landing zones are easy to get in and out of. The problem is as you say, even the best pilots have off days. All it takes is the rpg getting a good spawn to beat me to the rock. Bad teammates are very unforgiving as well, a lot of people immediately point the finger at the pilots. Meanwhile I landed a full helicopter on Alpha behind the rocks at the start and they didn’t take. It’s a group effort from the top to the bottom to get Alpha. I have developed a strategy to get Alpha if you don’t take it immediately. Start landing on the flanks repeatedly for 7-10 minutes roughly. Then make a quick, random landing behind the rocks on Alpha. This works a lot as the players defending Alpha often get bored and move to the action. It’s a simple yet effective strategy.

definitely do Resort 24/7 actually. only thing you need is a cracked pilot and your good.

Resort is just such a good map. I have about 500 hours on this map and I still notice new little things that perfect the balance of the map that seem to be randomly distributed on the map but have another purpose. There are only a few "OP" spots on the map and even these have some kind of obstacle that makes the place only half as good as it would be without it. No game is like the previous one, as you always have to adapt and coordinate with different strategies and new player positions. Unfortunately, resort 24/7 seems to be dying out a bit as the server fills up sluggishly and only at prime time. Other maps just dont get me hooked.

I was playing a campaign yesterday and Resort came, we were defending though, however that still meant we had to attack. Late war no USMC no US Army, just South Vietnamese and boy was it a horrible skirmish. All pilots sucked real bad and our commander couldn't even make it to the beach, no Loach since Combat pilots are american. Only cool part of the mission was when my squad filled the chopper, we crashlanded on the beach east to the Lighthouse and we pushed up the beach to get mortar struck on the fallen helo. We then proceeded to lose the fight at Resort and VC pushed us to Saigon and lost the war. We almost won at Saigon through time but we ran out of men just in the nick of it.

Combat pilots also play a huge role on this map. During objectives B, C and D the cobra and the loach can greatly help the team by patroling over the tree area and destroying tunnels. The loach can also distract VC by flying fast over the trees and make the VC think they can hit the loach so they pay less attention about targets on the ground.

I hate when defending B, the commander calls a force spawn and there's always someone who drops a grenade. But I do like shooting light house snipers with my M14 from crescent rock.

Yeah it's definitely boring as the VC for quite a while on this map.

Honestly I don't even have a problem with the pilots. My issue is simply that it's kinds overplayed.

Lmao how did you wreak such havoc with your mattock without ever being shot and killed almost instantly? I am playing in Australian servers and I'd bet my arse that you can’t do the shit you do with the players that are active here, they have these bloody ridiculously sharp eyes and always spot me first even before I saw anyone.

A couple of boats for Americans to ferry across in addition to the hueys would go a loooooooong way

If you find VC boring on this map, play Sapper with the PPsH. I always have a great time running around placing the toe poppers in high traffic areas like the courtyard around B, the rope bridge to D or the streets behind C while spraying GIs.

Resort is like the typical popular blonde white girl from highschool of the RS2 community map roster. - Day 1: Generally likeable, usually one of the first people you're introduced to at the beginning of your freshman year Day 7: Naturally avoid her cause you cant stand the bitch.

If you are a VC on Resort just grab a DP-28, you are heavy and slow af but finally you can use this great gun as intended

I always get some idiot who flies way out of bounds and we have to run 200 meters and can't use our weapons while they're saying we can attack them in the rear

The thing is Alpha is really the only point that can be held by the VC, and maybe B if the US is terrible. but it's so easy to capture the other points with the US fire abilities and attack helicopters. If Charlie and Delta had to be captured simultaneously then they'd stand a chance, but usually Charlie falls first and then delta soon after. The last point usually sees VC tunnels get obliterated by one artillery or napalm strike and then its over. Really the map is decided by whoever scrambles to A first, and then that's it.

I play about half the time on the resort 24/7 server The pilot thing is an issue, but honestly it could also be fixed if it was somehow more balanced for attackers apart from the initial scramble. Idk. If you can also get shitty pilots but they coordinate the loach, cobra, and landings, you can also almost pull it off a lot of times.

Just hope that the cobra pilot can clear the beach most of the time i land as a transport pilot near the cliff left side of the Obj A

Its a great map. The beach is dumb though, people tryhard A defense too. When I suggest that we let them take A near end of shutdown, those gremlins are like "why would we do that we wanna win". Like is that really fun?

Resort is basically RS2’s Locker/Metro

To be fair, if you have a good pilot that dosn't land on the fecking beach......but left or right of the point then resort can be beaten. Get dug in on the left of resort and get the team spawining in on you. Or far right of the Lighthouse is just as good. It's a defenders map for sure, but you can take it attacking and it's a real tear up. Good map. {WeB} Fat Freddys Cat.......

Resort is one of the most frustrating and worst maps in Rising Storm 2 Vietnam - so write those who represent themselves as soldiers-blockheads of urfin juice, on this map , you need to think with your head , it 's not like hitting beginners with a hoe on the back , everything is much more complicated 👻

Usually, I'd land on the Ridge with the rock bridge or just hover above the graveyard in the middle of the map and hover on top of a rock and then drop them off there if all other spots are hot zones

you'll like resort if the pilots are english, but I prefer to look at both side first before joining a team, because you never know if the pilots are yankees .

im not great at pilot but good enough what frustrates me is when I was flying landing on the beach and theres some stupid pilot riding in the back of my helicopter the whole game

They should helicopter have a separate que for matches and maybe a full on tutorial for flying

Okay I almost fully agree with your opinion. I love this map because it has a beautiful design, it's bright, sunny, hot and it feels like having vacations while playing on it. In 90% of all matches, Americans are taking Alpha and then the gameplay is more intensive but yeah, playing a VC without letting Americans take "A" is sometimes boring if u have no ideas how to take down Hueys. I love to play this map as a Transport Pilot cuz i was learning how to fly for almost 15 hours, just to be sure if i can perfectly land first on the beach without risk of my buddies lifes xD It's always fantastic to hear ur teammates on voice chat saying "good job, that's how all pilots should fly man". There is no other map that makes helicopters so important. And yeah it's so frustrating when some lvl 10 noob is taking Huey and thinking "okay i was flying in battlefield, nothing can beat me" and then he's ending on the first tree... I like this map, still can't play it 24/7 but it's awesome to take a break from regular gameplay and get into pilot role again to make vietnam war great again xD So at the end of my comment: Yes, we need more rocks on the beach and a bit of land-friendly zone to make this map playable for more then 3 first minutes of match xD

Hey tantwo I have been struggling to figure out how to get custom maps to work for rising storm, I downloaded them off of steam workshop and it doesn’t work and it never lets me download them in game

Resort is only fun for people that play as rpg or mg

honestly they've should use the A site as normal spawn, and a gunship spawn for helicopter ( you know like in Cua Viet)
