In this video, I’m gonna share with you my full review of one of the most versatile Rolex novelties the new explorer 36mm launched this year by Rolex recently. I’m gonna go through all important and interesting moments of this model to make it informative, entertaining and useful, so that you don’t waste your time. Great objective review Alexksy. I think the new 36mm size has much better proportions than the outgoing 39mm model. Once you have it on the wrist for a few days, the perception that it's too small fades away. Classic sizing in my opinion.

214270 is hands down the best Explorer Rolex has ever made. The new 36, which is actually a 35 mm watch, is simply too small for the majority of men’s wrists, and looks awkwardly large and bulky on a ladies wrist.

These are really good points. 36mm Explorer, with reduced case size, actually offers the wearer a true sport comfortabilify. I can aesthetically wear 42mm watches, but to me, any watch bigger than 38mm gives discomfort on wrist. Thus, 36mm would be perfect for sporty and casual activities. Only problem is that regular mortals cannot get the new models. I asked at couple of my local ADs in Munich, and the waiting lists are full for at least next 2 years. So, we can for now just forget about the new Explorer 36mm. Or one should simply buy brand new 37mm Seiko 5 (they are not discountinued). It is only 11mm thick and offer similar aestheticaly feeling, plus you get a daydate complication :D

I was very lucky. I emailed my AD and ask if they have the 124270. They called me back at the same day and they had one. So don't give up!

Enjoyed the video: first time viewer. Only feedback is that you show both the 39mm and the 36mm during the center portion of the video so people will need to note whether the “Explorer” text is at 12 (36mm) or at 6 (39mm) for their consideration. Agree with the message that the 36mm is a comfortable size and fits a good space between dress and sport. I wont likely give up my diver but this solves for my daily wear in both casual and business functions. Good luck to those that are seeking: they are available.

I owned the steel 36mm explorer for years. Had tried the 39mm explorer when it was introduced but find that the proportion is off. My wrist size is 7.25in and I do wear 40mm or bigger watches so it is not the size that is not right for me. With the released of the new 2 tones Explorer, how can I miss that?

Only complaint is that the lume is over hyped. Sure you can tell the time in the dark. But its not super clear/bright

@CoolHandLuke I wouldn't day sucks...in fact thus watch is very special. I disagree on the lume....nothing special about it. Almost seems like penny pinching ie not using enough.

Good summary. Really enjoyed the presentation. I have the 39mm Mk2 which is perfect for me. Not too small not too large. I think Rolex missed an opportunity here. I think they should have kept the 39mm and added the 36mm gold two-tone, thus covering a wider market, especially young females. In my eyes, the two-tone would make a great anniversary gift or for newly married couples.

Nice looking watch, the proportions of the 36mm are great for a small wrist . I had the opportunity to try on this model at my AD but it’s way too small for my 6.75 wrist . I owned the 39mm and love how this size fits perfectly. Great video

Overall great presentation. Personally this model does not resonate with me. Aesthetically, they should have left it as before. Btw, I'm potentially picking up my first Omega speedmaster this week.
