Is Session WORTH IT? 

Make both brother, I’m sure we would all love your input and expertise on session for all the console players since xl is ultimately dead for us

I've played SXL for hundreds hours but I just play Session for a year now. I can't wait for the next month's update. The devs love their game and listen to the community. It worths to be supported.

Honestly, make both if you like both. The content is always good. I wish there wasn’t such a divide in the community. It’s a great time to be a skateboarding fan between all the games and the Olympics. Thanks for keeping up the grind Milky🤙🏻

I’d love to see you play both!! Personally I think that session is a game that you can get just as good at (it’s just tough, like transition in skater xl!) and I’d love to see you take a solid crack at the game and really learn how to consistently bust out the tricks!!

Decently new to the channel, enough to put in my 2¢. Just play both, comparing them, they’re both similar, but session adds a little different element that’s refreshing.

Session content would be a nice switch up from the usual sxl content. It would be nice seeing you improve at session since you're already beast at xl. That would make for an interesting progression in videos!

I've played sxl since the beginning of the pandemic , have thousands of hours on it. I have bought session first but only gave it a real chance this year. Since the major update they did, can't stop playing it. Session reached another level on both gameplay and content. It's way more mature than sxl and its 1.0 v haven't been released yet. About whether you should bring videos about one or another, honestly, bring em both. The content is good regardless

I can't appreciate the animations as much as skaterxl, mainly because of the legs constantly weirdly spread, and the landings that don't look natural at all. Hope they can fix and improve the animations. Thanks for the video !

I think 2/3 SXL and 1/3 session would pretty much meet the audience demand. I myself love both games equally.

In my opinion, I'd watch anything you play, from SXL, Session to Phasmaphobia, and that's why I usually leave a like as soon as the video starts because I know I'll bloody enjoy it! As for Session, fuckin 'ell I'm hyped for the PS4 launch! Been playing SXL on console since launch and I will still play it after session launch... I absolutely love skate games, from THPS to OllieWorld, so as I said previously somewhere "The more skate games, the merrier!" Keep killing with these videos, Milky... We do love your company. To play this game good you should really set advanced settings and settings in general. It's pretty easy if you have it set correctly. Cuz you can adjust everything pretty much.

I’m just still pretty nervous about the launch. I still feel like it’s just gonna be to clunky for my liking even after full release. I’m gonna wait until I see some videos on it to see if it’s worth buying

You should definitely do both if you like session! Both games are awesome depending on the experience you want, and I personally love playing and watching both!

I play both. Logged more hours in SkaterXL, but also love the story mode in Session. Equally great games. Can’t wait for 1.0. Make content for what you feel like playing. We’ll be watching 🤘

Looking forward to V 1.0, even the latest early access build of Skater XL to full release was a huge improvement, some polish on Session will have me playing all the time.

Looking to see more when 1.0 comes out. Like you i'm a little burnt on xl have been playing it non stop for 4 years. I've finally got over the comparing xl and session hump and finally gave session a try, and its actually fun. Yeah animations are wonky and switch and fakie are not switch and fakie but it is rewarding to do anything with custom settings and manual catch. Look forward to seeing more milky session content.

not gonna lie session > skater xl! its right now still not fully released and has more content than skater xl and costs only 25 bucks right now ik next month it will become more expensiv but they will add even more content still worth it in my opinion plus it doesnt rely on mods to be decent.

I gotta say, I installed session years ago and only played 15 minutes. But got bored the other day and replayed session and man, it needs alil bit of polish but it's actually pretty good now. It's hard. It feels more difficult to land tricks then in skater xl, and while frustrating it's kind of how skateboarding feels in real life. As you said you'll be working on one trick for along time and I was getting that feeling yesterday.

Would love to see both SXL and Session videos on this channel. Don't make it exclusive. You whip at skater xl and its so fun to watch, but session is my game of choice for non-PC reasons so its rad to see you play it

I bought an Xbox 360 back in the day for the sole purpose of playing the original skate. At the time, I couldn’t believe how good of a skate game it was. Played the heck out of skate 2 and 3 (2 is my favorite), and honestly, they got a little too easy. When Session came out on console, I put it on hardcore with no grind alignment etc and I loved it, but the fail animations were really jarring and you would fall from just hitting a curb or a ledge weird. When XL came on console I thought it was a good balance of being more challenging/realistic than Skate, but more polished and casual than Session. When Session did the big update awhile back, they seemed to have fixed the problem with the really jarring animation, and gave you more leeway in what would make you fall. I play with the fisheye camera on, and I feel like I’m playing a skate video. It is really challenging, but more rewarding than any other skate game, and on the hardcore settings and advanced settings, I adjusted turn and flip speeds etc... to make it feel really realistically. Now, I couldn’t imagine playing any other skate game. Skate 4 is dead to me before it even came out, and XL just isn’t satisfying enough. I love doing realistic lines or tricks that take me a bunch of tries. Even like a nollie flip crook flip out is a challenge on session, even though I’m getting a lot more consistent, and that’s what I want in a skate game- the feeling of progressing in actual realistic skate tricks. In EA or XL, I could do an equivalent trick with such ease that its not even rewarding. My big gripe is that on Xbox one, the session graphics got WAY worse with that update. It is barely playable in that regard. I really hope that the full release fixes that issue because I am 100% playing Session, and no other skate game even comes close for what I’m looking for. Manual catch is amazing.

for as long as i can remember, I always thought Session looked better than SkaterXL and this video surely solidifies that thought. The physics in this game seem a little stiff and weird at times, but is dwarfed when compared to the weird physics that I find in SkaterXL. I love how the tre flips and kickflips look on Session. The tricks have characteristics that make them look unique instead of a robotic and perfect Utopia kickflip you'd see in Skate 3. The graphics on Session look like attention to realism and details were a priority and that is a definite plus; not to mention Session has deep blacks and contrast that adds a realistic depth to the environment. I'd definitely buy this game.

I honestly enjoy Session a lot more than Skater XL these days. It actually feels better and more real to me than Skater XL does. Anyone saying Session is stiff and not satisfying just haven’t played it enough.

As someone who bought session on xbox when first released do we get full game free or have to pay a bit extra?

I think sxl released to get it out on consoles because they would be able to get more money for future projects and it was a bad idea. I think staying beta would have helped it because it’s clearly not finished and sxl could have made story modes more content and it wouldn’t be so boring and that’s what session is doing. I remember it being call skate 4 for so long and now session is recognized as it’s own game not a skate 4 wannabe but it has the potential to become more than skate 4 and I bet the story mode is going to be bigger and better than the skate 2 story mode. I suggest both games but one needs mods to be amazing but the other is incredible on its own getting hyped for the full session release because we are getting new maps along with the game when it comes out. Enjoy both games they are both respectable.

I think you have uncapped fps. Session doesn't do too well with too high fps. Your game looks very stiff and animations are jittery unlike mine. Best to run it on stable 60 fps

Yo milky, just want you to know, imo once you figure this game out it is really rewarding in ways no other skating game is. This is matsix, I have 1000+ hours in SXL and 700+ hours in Session so I definitely have the experience in both games to say that, although it is still just an opinion. A lot of the flow you feel in the game is when you understand the way the game works and how to do things the right way, almost like skating irl tbh. The game is really unforgiving and has a huge learning curve. For example, SXL took me probably about 100 hours to REALLY start to understand it. Session took me easily 400-500+ hours to really get the hang of it, it takes real practice. If you ever want to get into a discord call I could go over the details in depth with you and show you how the game plays when you become more consistent. It's actually so sick and 1.0 is sounding like it's going to be amazing

3:30 Can confirm. It takes me about an hour and a half on average to get a clip (usually either a simple line or a crazy single trick)

at the time the game is missing some features that are important to me and overall is a bit too broken, but def. going to put some time into the final release. even though session has its problems i subjectively prefer the riding in session vanilla to the riding to SXL, modded even. hopefully this is going to be good.

Imma be honest; Personally i am not a huuuge huge fan of session. Never really got into the controls. BUT i love watching content for it. Be it just mission playthroughs, tutorials or edits. Game looks super smooth and if the person playing it is entertaining enough (Which luckiliy you are!) i would love to watch more Session content.

You should give True Skate a try. Sandbox is an absolute must. And they literally just added tripod cameras for replays.

There are a lot of things I wish session had that skater xl does better . Besides everything looking graphically better .. - fluid transition -grab tricks -multiple tricks on ledge/rails -steeze -way more customization -way less stiff

session is much better than xl in my opinion, the fact that xl is reliant on mods to make it good is something i do not want to deal with.

When you first start session, you'll think it's shit, but it's not, you are. Lol. Everyone is, and you'll hate it. It has a big learning curve and needs a lot of practice and patience. But once you figure it out and start landing what you want, it's the best skate game ever. Nice to see you on session though, a lot of changes coming at full release. Should definitely play it more.

So I played the early access of this about a year ago I gave up after 10 minutes. It looked really good in the previews so I figured why not. But yeah, I gave up from lots of irritation. Fast forward, 2 days ago, I saw it was on sale on PS5 store for $30. So I figured I’d give it a shot again. Bought it, and now I’m absolutely addicted. Can’t put it down. Since I don’t really skate anymore in real life, this is the best next thing. And you’re right when you said “this is the kind of game where you’ll spend a very long time in one spot trying to land a trick”. 100% facts. Just like real life 😂

I personally prefer Session over SXL but thats just me. I would love to see more Session content. Anytime a big name SXL RU-vidr posts Session content I get so stoked (You, Garret Ginner, NightSpeeds). It's so hard to find decent RU-vidrs that post consistent and GOOD Session content (We have JL but he needs to post more frequently)

At the end the day, Milkman needs to get paid, so whatever gets his videos out to a wider audience is best for him, and I am fine with that. I like watching and playing SXL because every day we get new maps, new mods, new gear, and so on. It's constantly changing in a good way because the community deeply loves the game and doesn't need devs to tell them what's what. New community content is still regularly coming out for it, so as a viewer of this channel it's an endless source of fresh entertainment. There's current over 1000 total user maps!!! Even if there were hundreds of SXL RU-vidrs, everyone would still be playing different maps, mods, different stats, different modded tricks, etc., so it's not like we would be seeing the same stuff over and over. I think it would be cool if you revisited some of the older maps and/or played some maps that aren't trying to be realistic. On the other hand, I was a Session backer on Kickstarter. Session maps are sick, that's a fact. However, the game doesn't have a large community behind it, and I am ambivalent about 1.0 being the thing that changes that permanently. I'd rather watch you play Session than the other dudes. As far as content, due to the small community, it definitely lacks the ever-changing variety for viewers. The RU-vidrs who play Session exclusively aren't all that different from each other, IMO, so I'd rather see how you do it than them. Let's see if 1.0 fixes all of that (and those canned animations, lol). A shame the devs gave up on adding ramp tricks and grabs, though.

What if Crea-ture threw in mall cops that only try to knock you off from skating into one or a random pedestrian? If they could add spots with skate stoppers so if it is skated and a random mall cop walks by they will run at you to get off and have a random chance to knock you down. Just in a free skating mode and be apart of the story.

Session has always felt too robotic for me however it definitely closes the gap between console and PC and the stats and features (Darkslides etc) are fantastic! and the replays look realistic and rewarding ! 🤘🏻 Skater XL is super smooth and so comfortable however on console the devs are a 0/10 unfortunately.

One reason I can't keep going back to session is just how bad the grind mechanics are. Not to mention the instances of you getting kicked off your board when trying to ollie off or down some sort of hard angle (stairs, ledges, etc) The game looks great but I very much prefer skater XL with it's approach and the ability to mod it to your hearts content
