If you think this game is comparable to forces you would have to be half deaf, half blind, had your spine scooped out, your frontal lobe lobotomized, and the age of a four-year-old
I can respect that some Sonic fans aren't immediately ready to just accept something, we're kind of learning from Forces (Albeit some have OVERlearned imho), but I admittedly feel like I'm just gonna wait until the game is out instead of letting myself stew in cynicism like the "This game is not it" crowd, but also not go to the other "This game is PEAK" crowd and potentially give the game credit for something it has not shown yet. Regardless, I liked the Space Colony ARK stage, my pre-order is in, I'm running through Modern Stages with that SA1 Skin, and I'm gonna just see how much Sega and Sonic Team have put into this game.
Takashi lizuka is already comfirm they brought back some of og level design from unleashed/gens and it's not a broken promising like forces does if you wanna find more information check in sonic stadium because they the one interview with him
Tbh the level design is like sa2 ish with the multiple paths but also straightness like sa2 speed levels, its good level design and that open area midstage is fire reminds of the adventure/06 levels more which is good, and its a long and complex first level and its just a tutorial stage type of thing, the rest of the levels are gonna be waay better fr
Holy cow I didn't know that you were gonna be using my criticisms for your video 😂 I also like how you were respectful, fair and intricately stated you response and your views. When I was calling the game straight forward, I didn't necessarily mean literately, I meant in terms of action. I went deeper into it in some of the replies others had but I'm guessing you saw those already. Seaside Hill (I apologize for mistaking for Ocean Palace) introduces lots of mechanics and there are lots things in that level that require usage of all team members to get high action chains, secret paths or just to progress quickly and swiftly. I feel like comparing the gameplay shown to the boarding section of SA2 was kinda unfair since the boarding section was a level gimmick but looking at other sections of City Escape I kinda understand your points. These are the type of discussions I love, just giving different perspectives respectfully without turmoil unlike most of the sonic community or even fan communities online. As you said, Sonic hasn't been all too outstanding lately so the fans shouldn't be shocked when there is mass discourse about aspects of new gameplay. Looking back it was also unfair from me to compare this first level to Metal Harbor from SA2 and Power Plant from Sonic Heroes but I just really liked their level design and use of engagement throughout.
6:30 you slightly miscommunicated the point Levels are built around mechanics. City escape realistically isn’t the most intricate secret heavy explorative level But the controls and mechanics of the sonic in Sa2 make it better. Rail grinding while in a boost game is automated But in sa2 it actually has gameplay. Along with moves like bounce lighspeed dash and all the chaos stuff.
He didn’t slightly miscommunicate, he completely miscommunicated the guy’s argument to distract from the fact that he can’t actually counter the valid criticism the comment was making about this game.
@@pikachufrankieI can’t say that the guys comment is clearly very flawed in its criticism He mentions that people say this game will be just like forces but it’s already demonstrated a lack of 2 of forces biggest issues Length and linearity Automation is one thing but In general I’m not saying the critique is invalid but he doesn’t seem to entirely understand what made forces bad
Maybe the game won’t be as good as GENS but saying it’s as bad as forces Is Definitely not true to me Forces was bad because not only where the levels linear but there was so little to react to you spent most of the sections there doing minimal stuff not to mention its automation which essentially entirely took minimum control from the player for a long time. So they could then go back to limited control. That and the levels were short. 2 of these problems is bad enough all 3?
Literally play shadow and sonic forces, and then watch gameplay of sonic X shadow generations. Then shut up because you just answered your question. They are not the same.
bro how tf u bouta bring up sonic adventure 2 and show me CITY ESCAPE. You needed to compare this shit to final chase, you know, the level this is based on????? like what are you doing lmao
Shadow is more controlable like open zone sonic but with momentum and perfect air movement, id say if he where to be put in forces the game would be better than before, and if he where to be put in cybespace it would be tons more fun, so he controls well and all, the shadow levels are more like the sa2 and sa1 levels rather than the quick reactions based unleashed and generations levels
1:03 I mean, not to agree with the comment but. CE is more complicated with the controls you have to master to do this section well. Compared to just boosting and jumping at the right time.
Well I do have to say about something you talked about, I… Absolutely Agree with you 👍. I believe that people have different opinions what’s what’s cool or not and that really up to that specific person. If that guy think the werehog is cool but I hate it, none of us is right. Overall if we like ticking box of our checklist. Is getting a lot of marks now
Sonic fans yet again feeling the need to downplay older games to make modern ones not look as bad. I don’t want this game to suck, but when Shadow’s own game has a more appealing 1st level than this in the form of Westopolis, it doesn’t bode well. Straight lines aren’t the issue, the stage just seems piss easy and boring.
I’m gonna say it sonic generations for this kind of expansion does not make sense. It’s not even a special year for the sonic franchise. Generations is already available on most platforms. And they are games that people would really love to see remade like sonic adventure or two, which I think a shadow expansion could really be used in
It’s a well reviewed Game and th shadow game is clearly Based of its premise Plus it’s a boost game. LikenSXSh gens It’s not the best choice but it does have a trail of logic behind it
Still better than being branded Frontiers 2, I don't ever want to see Sage in another Sonic game again, EVER... I'd rather see Infinite return, over Eggman's onion head AI daughter.
What did she do? She was written much better than Infinite. I can understand that the way she gained emotions was very unnatural, but at least there was some character development.
Honestly thank god I’m not the only that thought sage kinda sucked also yeah I just wanna see infinite man had the most potential hopefully if he does return the do a better job
