Is Shin Megami Tensei V Actually Good?  

Merciless is one of if not the easiest difficulty in P5, because weak hits are way stronger for both you and the enemy. Idk about strikers since I've barely played it. Even persona 5 hard mode, the hardest mode, is leagues below smt V normal mode in terms of difficulty. Ps.: I'm not saying this to mean anything bad, people can enjoy easier games and harder does not mean better! I love both persona and smt! I just wanted to clear up any misconceptions. Videogame tastes are really subjective. If you do decide to play it, I hope you enjoy it!

@@stevenkennedy6870 In SMT V, dampeners are items that you will basically need for boss fights, as fights usually revolve around skillful usage of them, as you can only have 3 of each dampener in your inventory at a time. Keep track of weaknesses in your party, as letting any enemies hit your weaknesses will give them extra turns which can really mess you up. Blocking, Reflecting or draining will also eat up enemy turns, so its useful to have a party member that does one of those to prevent your enemy from attacking. This also applies to the enemy's party, so avoid using moves that are nulled. Guarding should not be forgotten, as it also prevents weaknesses and critical hits, so the enemy won't get extra turns. Probably the most important tip: Buffs and Debuffs are very, very important. In V, they last 3 turns and can be stacked twice, and using them while they're on will reset the duration. Buffing and Debuffing turn a battle from impossible to cakewalk, and also completely demolish you if the enemy uses it. So learning how to do it is really important. Also, try to not put points in both Physical and Magic. You definitely can, (specially in SMT V, compared to SMT games), but focusing on one usually gives better results. That's all I can think of right, maybe if I think of something important I missed I'll go back and say it. If you play it, I hope you enjoy it, many people were divided on SMT V when it first came out, some aspects people were split on, others most people disliked and others most people liked, but Vengeace is looking to be a major improvement of the original, and also seems to be fixing and improving most issues people had. I honestly can't wait, as someone who enjoys SMT V but thought it had some flaws, this looks like it's gonna bring out the game's full potential.
