Be clear, you are NOT talking about the US Armory and Arsenal at Springfield Mass, which was shut down in 1968. It was one of the major small arms development sites for the US military from the Revolutionary War to Vietnam. This Springfield Armory is not the same as the Illinois based Springfield Armory company that is still in business today. Springfield Armory is an unethical company that lies to your face. They lobby against their competitors and they are run by despicable individuals who colluded with the governor of Illinois to tax the industry and drive them from his state. He sent his lobbyist to negotiate a deal to exempt their company in return for their support of the unconstitutional law. They knew that the smaller companies could not afford the legal fight to win and that they'd move. Then when they were found out, the CEO lied and said the lobbyists "went rogue" and that he didn't know they were doing that. They are still employed at SA to this day. The original Springfield Armory went bankrupt and is defunct. These clowns just bought the trade marks and logos. They are crap. they are a crap company. They make crap products and their customers are all noobs. That is my opinion. There are millions of shooters and 2nd Amendment supporters agree with me. Integrity matters. Even on RU-vid it matters. Think about that. Let it marinate and sink it a minute.
Personally i do believe in buying and supporting American made products. I'm a 10mm man and unfortunately the American made Sig and Smith & Wesson have issues. Sig might go off if you drop it and the Smith has feeding issues. And then there is glock that does not have full chamber support and some of them blow up in peoples hands. Thats why i choose Springfield. And i believe the XDME with 3.8" barrel is the best "out of the box" gun at this time. Thats why i have it in 9mm, 10mm and .45 acp. Recently i bought my wife the Hellcat Pro. Maybe the Echelon may edge out the XDME due to all of the upgrades but only time will tell with all of the tests that will be coming out on youtube channels. If they come out with a 10mm Echelon ima be looking real hard at it. If you look up Springfields track record you will see that they've donated to many charities before and after the 2a debacle. So i do not think they would cut their owne throat by supporting non 2A agendas. That would be company suicide. So for me i'm a springfield man.
my first handgun that I bought was the Springfield Armory XD service model, the original. Ran 1000s of rounds through it and loved it. Stupidly I sold it years ago for a Glock that I ended up hating; been kicking myself in the ass ever since. Now I have a Hellcat Pro and man do I really enjoy that thing. Springfield Armory makes a great product.
SA made one mistake years ago, it does not negate that they make/sell good firearms. HS products make the majority of the SA line, and they are all great guns.
All great points. My oldest Springfield is a 15 year old XD 45 tactical. Lost count on rounds through it but never had an issue. People do sleep on these firearms but I think with the release of the echelon that might be changing. The hellcats were a major turning point. The first time I held a hellcat pro I was really impressed. The stippling going all the way up the grip seemed logical but nobody else does it. Several thousand rounds later with no issues and it has become one of my favorites in the collection. The Hellion is awesome too. I am really looking forward to seeing more innovation from HS Produkt and Springfield.
I've seen good and bad on certain items. I like the 4.25 prodigy. Very smooth and has been flawless. They also have some nice carry options. I want the ronin 3.25 model. Great video.
I have two hellcat osp. One in stock and the other with the DPM recoil kit, apex trigger, and and true precision threaded barrel. The hellcat is amazing when suppressed. The osp version is best for ecd.
Great points! All of my Springfields are amazing pistols. My 3" XD mod 2 impressed me so much i got one for my lady and one for my daughter. Any one i let shoot it falls in love with it as well. I never understood the hate.
Springfield was totally cancelled by that BS. I am so tired of hearing that crap from supposed 'Pro 2A' fanatics. It's just as bad as the BS about the Sig 320 shooting people out of no where. Most cases are being dismissed without prejudice. I even watched videos (frame by frame) every time, it was because the user's booger picker was on the trigger. But yes, Springfield Armory has gotten a bad rep because of these disgusting "tacti-cool" misinformers. I own Glocks, Sigs, and Springfields too. Out of the 3, I have actually had the least amount of problems with my HC/HCP/EDMEs.
I won’t buy Springfield ever , for what they pulled. The I didn’t know part i don’t believe , especially if someone is sent in something as crucial as a bill. The details has to have been discussed previously.
