Totally agree. If you bow tank against HE spammers and BBs you're gonna die. Stalin is much scarier as a roamer.

Stalingrad kind of patented the bow-in, island-hugging playstyle Petro revolves around today, because you have to remember when it came out, the meta was less HE-spammy and the captain skill rework hadn’t happened yet, which made it incredibly tanky compared to most cruisers and the supercruisers that preceded it. It’s only been upstaged by Petro since the captain skill rework hard nerfed supercruisers by removing FP on cruisers.

@@optimalkfrt if you stay angled and have good situational awareness yes, you can do it. Stalingrad is very tough when angled, even backwards. And reverse stern tanking is a very viable option.

Heard rumors of her being removed sometimes in the future and replaced by another new TX RU heavy cruiser.

Of course right It's better than Petro at long range, but once you're close within 12km of a target Petro just beats the Stalingrad because of that 360 deg turrets and low and angled freeboard that troll shells from getting citadels.

Do you have the Bourg? Cuz Bourg and Stalin should be the two one gets.

Austin is meh. Sure in ideal situation it’s devastating. But you don’t get that so often. And the rest of the time it’s a very tricky ship (no mistakes allowed) to play if you are not an unicum player. So depending on your own taste for different playstyles as well, but Stalingrad is a waaay better investment, it will not let you down. And if rly you enjoy CL and feel good at them in T10 games, you might consider Plymouth first. Imo it’s way more reliable than Austin is, and so on the long term, way more powerful than Austin. Austin it’s just that fancy gimmick dropping your payload in one go with the reload booster and dev strike the noob that is naive enough to put himself in that situation first. But other than that, Austin is not that good and hard to play for avrg players. Up to you to see, but I would go for Stalingrad first 10 times on 10, no doubt about that.

Depends, but if ur a light cruiser guy, pick the ragnar. Stalingrad is for those high skilled player because u need cits to make that ship effective

And braindead Stalin/Petro/Kremlin nose in play you call "high skilled player". Holy shit well you have no idea what you are saying. DDs die in an instant if they overextend in wrong place at wrong time - not so much for Petro or Stalin unless they show side (and even then Petro ... sits so low that is may not take cits). How sitting nose in shooting AP every 20 sec in Stalin against broadsides (or not really becasue improved angles so you don't even need to aim well ...) - is somehow peak of skilled gameplay now ? 90% games in ranked are decided by how bad DDs are on each side - who is going to eat first torp and just instantly throw game for team. You only hope your DD is "just bad" not "THAT bad". You should play some DDs yourself to see that it requires substantially more skill to play than sitting nose in as Stalin.

Honestly if you want Shiki go for it, but there's nothing she can do that legendary upgrade Yammy couldn't do better. You are basically paying 33k steel for a gun sound mod

@@windborne8795 Plymouth is a very good ship, but since I have all of the other british cruisers at T10 already, I won't try to get it next. I'm sure I'd enjoy playing Plymouth, but the gameplay-experience is not unique enough for me ;)

Realy? A lot of people are telling me not to get Moskva, because she's "useless". I already have research points for ger legendary upgrade and i'm just waiting for the 25% coupon to get her.

My favourite radar ship too. Prefer it over both Stalin and Petro - Substantially better DPM , massive HP without 60 sec burn and 30 second radar (up to 39) - that ship isn't worse Petro - in many many scenarios it is superior boat.

@@RenanSAbreu it is not useless but its one of the hardest ships to play, but if you know how to position your self with her it is very efficient. Moreover i wouldn't recommend buying legendary module in research beaurou even if its very strong for her.

Moskva is stupidly strong in 2nd part of the battle, if you remain relatively healthy when 40to60% of all players are dead, there you can change the fate of the game significantly. But I also saw countless Moskvas disappearing in less than 2mins in early battles, even angled or bow in, at mid to long range, just bcoz of focus fire and badly concealed or stuck in open waters, etc… It’s a strong ship, but also a juicy target, so it’s not so easy to play overall (specially in 12v12). I would always see a Stalingrad as a bigger threat than a Moskva I guess, but it depends of the situation. In good hands, both are equally deadly.

Regardless of how good it is, Bourgogne is just fun to play. There's not much like it at tier X. You're fast, you don't stick with one ammo type. You have reload booster. You're hard to citadel, but you have low hit points. Your secondaries and AA shoot a lot, so even if they're ineffective, they feel fun. It's a unique, fast-paced experience that leaves me grinning even if I do something dumb and die early.

If you like jean Bart, you will like Bourgogne :) However, I do love my Stalin as well, but it's not an easy ship, but with either choice you will have to practice, enjoy mate :)

very similar here. thinking of austin or stalin. will probably go for stalin since i have georgia and no good russian premium to train captains.

I still haven't gotten the Stalingrad. I am down to Bourgogne, Shikashima, FDR, Ragnar, Plymouth and Stalingrad to choose from. Austin is challenging but, fun to play. She's not for everybody. I am thinking about Bourgogne or Plymouth. Can't we just have 'em all? 😂

id say bourgogne is a lot like alsace and Wujing. Which I enjoy playing. But then again I want shiki but I ain't that great on yamato. (GUN SOUNDS from shiki is just damn nice). Still need a few steels and start to think which ship to get... very hard dilemma knowing that it is very hard to get steels.

No. Yama generally does everything Shikishima does, but marginally better. You have slightly more penetration at extreme range, but you also have a higher shell arming threshold, so you should expect a higher proportion of overpens.

there are a few ships a ragnar can be interchanged with ... there is nothing u can change a stalin to. my favourit ship since I first got it.

I went with the Ragnar over the Bourg, have the Stalingrad.

Go with Ragnar, good against everything in every type of matchmaking. CV, Radar heavy matchup, can defend itself against the likes of kleber and Marceau because of the 25mm armor, easily burns down BBs and cruisers like Stalin aswell. 360 degree turrets and pinpoint accuracy and good ballistics even at 15+ km are so nice to have.

imo ... hold. Many new ships announced including Sevastopol. I think there is chance it will be for steel. And fk me backwards if Sevastopol doesn't look interesting as hell and potentially fun to play aswell !

Bourg is fun as a Battleship. With ragnar you can carry games.

Stalingard is better in tankyness but alaska is bit better in kiting .

Well, Alaska is T9, so you cannot compare them directly.

Because Thunderer just HE spams and lights u the fuck up. Oh you damaged coned? Here's another fucking two fires in one salvo. The sense of defenselessness pisses people off. Ain't much you can do about it, especially BBs.

Because most people don't hate playing against Bourgogne all that much? For all the power that ship has in the hands of a skilled player it still has a T9 HP pool, 32mm everywhere, easy to break French quad turrets, wonky French quad turret dispersion and last but not least the opposite of the lolHEspam that made pre nerf 24km base range Thunderer so toxic.

Because Bourgogne requires at least two braincells to work properly

@@alphax4785 You clearly haven't met a HE-spamming Bourgogne. Actually, if you look at the top-5% performing player base, the Bourgogne is _much_ stronger than Thunderer. 76.58% vs 69.99% WR. That's not a trivial difference (23.42% loss vs 30.01%). Actually, the top 10% of players are better in Bourg (73.46%) than the top 5% are in Thunder. Clearly, Bourg is a stronger ship. So why is that? Well, the weakness of low HP and 32mm everywhere is shared between them, so good players are clearly able to play around that. The guns on the Thunder looks better on paper. At least when you don't factor in the booster. However, Thunderer's great accuracy is mostly an advantage when you aim for citadels. When you spam HE, the Bourgs accuracy disadvantage is less keenly felt (multiple shells hitting the same part of the ship can still only light one fire). With the threat of the booster, you are able to "lock" players who can't turn away between salvos. And you can use the booster to re-light fires immediately that gets put out. I think the real difference is speed. Thunderer is 31 kts with flag, which is ok, but nothing special. I feel safe when fighting a Thunderer that I can withdraw if things go south. Bourg is 38.6 kts with flag and booster. Against Burg, I can't expect to get away. They will be much better at getting an advantage through position and then turning an advantage into a kill. I think that is also why I hate them so much.

as pq said, stalin was never broadside tanky and is not fire tanky anymore. you pay for the guns and the speed. it's not a petro.

Bagration 180mm AP have similar pen to what Nevsky have... which in turn is in line with the best 203mm guns in game - Zao and Venezia - in terms of penetration. So scoring citadels on ship with merely 180ish milimeters of citadel plating isn't saying that much.

I'd venture to say that Austin gives her a run for her money in the fun department.
