Kym. Don't forget to use the First Class terminal in Frankfurt on your return journey. It is just sensational. Make sure to pick up a duck as a souvenir.
Kym, this video has everything. I see content with your son in it, your reference to an imaginary friend so you can have a second Southern Comfort, and your glee when you got your vegemite sandwich. It made me smile. I rate this video....a 9.5!
As a Swiss frequent flyer, I really enjoyed your compilation of the travel segments. So far I've only flown Swiss' 1st class on the A330 and notice that a lot has changed with the 777. Glad to see they've finally caught up with the Middle Eastern airlines. Thank you for sharing.
One vegemite and cheese sandwhich and three Southern Comfort and Cokes later... You, sir, are my hero! Probably the most relaxing 15 minute video of the year... Keep 'em coming! Cheers!
Lovely work Kym and in 2003 as a poor recently graduated uni student from Brisbane doing my tour of duty in London, was upgraded by Swiss (somehow) from Economy to Business on a return flight from Zurich back to London which included lounge access and after living off two minute noodles, made the most of it and the free plonk! A great experience. See you in Vegas.
One of my fav airplane stats. The 777-300ER has the most powerful engines ever fitted to an aircraft. Almost 230,000lbs [combined for both engines] of thrust! The nacelle [cover] of the engine has a larger diameter than a 737 fuselage!
I always love your videos: you show us the world! Joined you for a glass of wine (skipped the southern comfort - too much for a video). The amount of totally unnecessary waste produced by all the creams, etc., even headphones, socks and slippers shocks me. Doesn't everyone have their own favourite stuff with them anyway? (By the way, Elmex is one of the best toothpastes in Germany.) But it's interesting to see what we miss as low-class passengers, when travelling on holidays. Been around the world (also Singapore and Australia) more uncomfortably, but that's totally okay once or twice a year. For you it's part of the job and 24 races per year, so I don't envy you (well a little yes). 😊♥
Flew with Swiss a bit when i lived in ZRH (never first) but always with SGP back to Melbourne. You can use the outdoor pool in transit airside. one of life's greatest luxuries!
Kym, I can’t believe that you didn’t have the sales and pepper squid in the Qantas lounge in Singapore - it is to die for and available in all their first class lounges around the world apart from that another great video😊
As always, great video Kym! a 9.5 out of 10 WOW! One of your highest ratings, right? You might have given a bump in ratings based on how much you missed Vegemite. :-) Have a great summer break!
Welcome home Kym to a lovely windy winter! Couldn't wait another 6 hours for a vegemite cheese toastie hey? Looks more tastier than the cafes back home. Hahah!
Kym it is always a pleasure watching your VLogs, some great tips and feedback, good to see you enjoying a bloody cheese and Vegemite sanga buddy, take care, be safe and good bless 👍👍🙏✈️🏎️
Lucky you got the roller on board. I use a backpack on domestic flights. Horribly overweight, but nobody suspects it. 2x 1D X Mark II, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 2x Speedlite 600, MacBook Pro 16“, iPad Pro 11“, Chargers, Cables… 12-13kg instead of 8. The 150-600 lives in the checked bag. They even didn’t check on the tiny CRJ-900 from FRA to Dresden (Lufthansa with Cityjet)
Feel like I'm tagging along on your trips. Some of your dishes would not appeal to me. But that sandwich near the end looked good. Enjoy your time off and do a video of how you kicked back and took some time off and don't forget to show us what you ate!!!
I'm exhausted just watching this. I flew from Los Angeles to Tokyo on a 16-hour business class flight for a Super GT race at Motegi. That exceeded my limits, and that was before 9/11. I don't know how you can do it without sleeping for a week when you get home.
Elmex is a brand by the Swiss manufacturer Gaba. Gaba was bought by Colgate-Palmolive in 2004. But elmex as a brand is very well known and probably one of the biggest brands of oral hygiene products here in Switzerland.
I travel to Belgium semi-regularly and I haven't flown into Brussels in years. Always so much more expensive. Usually, I fly into Charles de Gaulle, sometimes Schiphol. The trains tBrusselses are quicks and relatively cheap.
Great Episode as always!! We just returned with Swiss from Zurich to Miami in Business. Great crew but underwhelmed with the seat and the food. Had a few problems on the flight and three suitcases were damaged. Food was not as good as Lufthansa on a similar route three weeks earlier. Where is Emirates when you need them?
What route and airlines did your son take? could you do a video on how you search and book your flights because you do a hell of a lot of random mix and match ways to get around. Id be interested.
You ask in the video title 'Is SWISS FIRST CLASS worth it?'. I would respectfully suggest that if a person's financial situation is such that they have to ask themselves if a product such as this is 'worth it', then, to them, it probably isn't. 'Worth it' is of course very subjective. The vast majority of First Class passengers are either travelling at employer/client expense, therefore don't care if it is worth it or not as somebody else is paying, are too rich to care or are frequent travellers who have decided to treat themselves to a points upgrade.
Have you tried the Swiss First Class lounge in Terminal E in Zurich? I prefer it to the one in terminal A (though ‘I’m not sure if they have fondue😊). Lounging on the terrace overlooking the waiting aircraft is a nice way to spend some time in good weather.
The heart attack video! Scoffs a fondue in 8 minutes, then (few hours later)has a cheese and Vegemite toastie washed down with a large so co and coke! Gives the delicious veal 8.4, the toast a 9. Omg 😂 a better way to sleep long haul is to eat less. Just a thought, have a good break.🏎️📸
Mr. 1A, I really enjoyed that video interview you did recently, and I recommend anybody watching your videos to check it out: "What it takes... with Olly Fawcett". Lots of early days stories and behind the scenes details. Have you done many of these kinds of interviews or are you blowing up on us?
This looks pretty nice for a first class, but have you tried Singapore Suites yet? So much better than Emirates or Swiss, and top notch service. You have a lot of Singapore A380 options from Australia (lucky!)
How come you weren’t picked up by a private car at the remote stand? That’s always been the case the times I have gotten remote parking connecting in F at ZRH, MUC and FRA.
