Come with me as a i check out Sydneys Nightlife! I visit 2 of Sydneys biggest nightlife venues IVY & Argyle to finally put an end to the conversation of if their nightlife is the worst in Australia
Used to go on weekend benders to sydney green door oxford st Rocks etc heaps of fun. I reckon young ppl are just not as interested in flippin pingas and dancing all night. If they let 50yrs olds in on their zimmer frames with huge dilated pupils Id be there with Adidas Superstars on (actually signed RUNDMC but thats another story) but they aint equiped with state of the art AED defibrillators!
Sydney nightlife was peaking up untill 2015 at best. Prices for drinks and entry fee has skyrocketed so its very hard for uni students to afford to go out on the regular!
The city is for tourists. Once the lockout laws hit, the whole scene adapted. Sydney has a really good scene but you can’t just fly up here and walk into it. We don’t really have regular club nights. The only exception is club 77 it’s an institution that has been around for over 30 years and you will always find the best talent that’s in Sydney at the time there. You can also great parties with big international acts every weekend by a whole bunch of promoters doing parties in warehouses all throughout the inner city every weekend. It’s just changed. If you’re apart of the scene you have no problem finding a great party here.
I grew up in Sydney. Sydney use to be so laid back back in early 2000s There are clubs empty RIVA under the Pitt St hotel to many in Oxford St and bayswater road
Back in Jan I went to a bar in Thornbury, Victoria that had a loud techno night and the bar had no security and no doorman. It was good vibes. Yes Sydney is hostile. NSW - Nanny State Wankers
I realised Melbournians were dead inside when Tool played at Rod Laver in 2019....and everyone was sitting in their seats and a bunch of us standing and rocking it out.....robots everywhere
You gotta consider the boat parties when judging Sydney's party culture too. Can be in Sussudio at 3am and meet someone who take you on a yacht to party all day.
That venue is not The Carter. The Carter went under recently. They modelled their venue like Establishment. Justin who owns the Ivy, also owns Establishment which you were looking at, around 10:45 in your video.
@@Dannysrants Justin built and opened Establishment in 2000. There’s even a pent house up top for him to live in while Ivy was being constructed! The Carter didn’t last long and wasn’t on Gregor Street.
