If you want a V8, get the SS. If you want better MPG’s, lower cost, cheaper insurance, fun to drive, get the RS1LE. Plus , get this color if you have trouble spotting your car in a crowded parking lot. Nice job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
@@fzr1000981 oh yeah dude it has over a 100+ hp then the the v6 but brand new base ss is still about 7 grand more then then a base rs. Which I totally get i would love the power of the ss but brand new I could only afford the rs. Still fun af to drive and faster then most cars on the ride
Pepe Ramirez with the 8 speed auto it makes a really cool almost spit sound when upshifting at high RPM’s too, doesn’t show that in this video since it’s a 1LE
For the price, THIS is a great package. I really think Chevy engineers nailed it with this ride. Good handling and performance and even managed to make it sound great. One weird thing though is that the aggressive look of this particular car definitely suggests that it has a V8 in it... also i agree that the visibility in these Camaros isn't easy to get used to.
"there was even a bird who flew by and hit the side of a building because it was looking at the camero" hahaha this is part of why i like your channel, youre funny
I am all about V8’s, but I read somewhere that a non-1LE SS Camaro got absolutely smoked around the Nurburgring by the 1LE V6, and it was by quite a considerable number. Goes to show how awesome the 1LE package is.
Just realized that this is actually my first time watching a video solely showcasing a Camaro. I love Mustangs and Challengers, but never been a fan of Camaros. However, after watching this video it really makes me realize some of the things that I DO like about these cars. Namely those gorgeous tail lights, which funny enough Joe kinda Zonked lol. +1 for the hood struts as well! EDIT: Lmaooo Joe kills me!! When he started talking about the rear seats i was dying of laughter oh man 😂😂😂
I LOVE my 2016 RS. Plenty of power and the handling inspires confidence. A supercharger adds 100+ HP keeping the same low insurance and higher MPG for about $7000.
I own a ‘14 Challenger and love it. With that said...she’s a big girl. Been looking at the 1LT w/1LE in crush. Its beautiful. And as others have commented yes! The folks at Chevrolet nailed it with this pkg. And although I’m a fan of the Chevy v6 I am going to opt for the turbo. I just want to say I have a turbo. No seriously its all about weight savings and handling for me. Love it!
Still debating between a 3LT V6 Or a 2SS. I drove a 4CYL turbo, did not really liked it. Also tried the 2SS loved it, there where no 6cyl available to try so hopefully after this covid situation I can drive one and compare but this review was really helpful.
I'm old school! As the previous owner of a '94 Z28 and a '99 Z28 I wouldn't be caught dead in a Camaro without a V8 under the hood!!! Even thought this V6 would run rings around both of my Z28s! LOL!!!
This looks like a great car to buy if you can't afford the SS, or you're looking for a daily. The sound is ok, but definitely leaves something to be desired. Considering it's around the same price as a v6 Camry, but has the 1LE package, it's a bargain!
@@RaitisRides Actually if you order the same car you tested in the 3LT level you will get the rearview monitor plus heated and cooled seats among others.
I love the v6 in these and it honestly is a good combination with the car but I still just get that sour feeling when I see a v6 in a camaro or any muscle car. I just can't get past it for some reason 😂 maybe someday I will
I totally agree. But I had to have that E-Force Edelbrock 15995 Supercharger with the Bilstein B-14 PSS suspension which has more FEEL than the 1LE. It is not the thickness of the sway bar that makes it feel so...connected. it is not the Alcantara Wheel Wrap ($34.99) but IS the BMR ELK-016 front adjustable end linkst han the 1LE RS package which is a cheap 1LT 3.6 and 1" larger rotors and 20" wheels so that the BRAKES: 4 piston "CHEVROLET".........."by brembo" in tiny writing will fit. Just so u know. I get it Chevy. They are Brembo spec'd and built by Chevrolet. SO WHAT?? As long as it is made in USA or N. USA (Canada LOL). So here is the $$$. 2020 Riverside Blue Camaro 3.6 1LT with TREMEC TR3160. 6 SPEED MANUAL. Stock power is 335 HP SAE NET. 274 LB FT SAE NET. FUEL CUTOFF 7200 RPM!!!! The problem I inherited was the kid who thought he knew how to drive stick.....he didn't. It cost me $729 in parts and $1200 to crack it open The trans was abused in every way possible. After flushing it manually once with it completely disassembled and using a pressure washer with transmission interior cleaner. we found that the kids dad had taken the car from the kid, and the kid destroyed the clutch on purpose. So after we made sure there were no metal pieces on/in the tranny; we reassembled it and replaced every piece of the clutch. So, $2000 lesson there. But all in: $24,250 car (after I talked seller down since they would NOT help me with replacing the clutch). All this effort put into the slept on, underrated v6 engine. Ford does not do this and of course dodge doesnt, the dodge community sees the v6 as a 4 cylinder its so ridiculous but this make the camaro stand alot. i respect chevy for going the distance such a great value wow. this will Definitely be my next car, a v6 is enough power for me. My '17 Taurus limited only come with 240tq compared to 280 tq and it gets outdone by by more than 40horsepower even when you compare the same v6 found in the mustang it still doesnt compete as well
Honestly more interested in the LT1 package, which is essentailly a 1LS base trim but with the 6.2 V8. Basically its the cheapest possible way to get the V8.
Wish that Chevy would ditch the 2.0 turbo, and give a little more oomph to the V6 models. Just needs a little more torque imo. Make RS actually mean something, like 350 horse and 310 pound feet of torque would be golden
hats off to gm for keeping the v6 in its line up...ford made a huge mistake getting rid of the awsome 3.7 mustang ide buy one of the perfectly balanced v6 camaros
kind of got my eye on these now. it looks great. depending on how you option it, you can get a v6 1le cheaper than the ecoboost hpp. which one do you prefer joe?
The Ecoboost sounds terrible, and doesn't handle as well as I'd like it too. It is a better daily though imo, and feels higher quality inside. The V6 Camaro sounds SICK, and feels extremely sharp in 1LE spec, it is a true track car. The interior leaves much to be desired though.
What are your thoughts about the rumors the Camaro is going to be discontinued again? I hope not. Once GM brought the Camaro back, Ford and Dodge stepped it up big time
@@RaitisRides as a car guy, this is hands down the best time to be alive, but those rumors worry me. Chevy was the brand I felt was keeping the muscle car market honest. Ford didn't step it up until the 5th gen Camaro came out swinging and look what it gave us as a result
He had me all the way up until the stick shift 😭 One thing I wanna point out tho is that he keeps saying he wishes the car had this and that. It's a really nice car for the money, and if you really want those "added" features, you gotta "add" money to the payment 🤷♂️ Also a car like this isnr meant for grocery shopping and running errands, so the trunk space is not really a feature. You drive a Camaro for bragging rights! I own one and get compliments all.the time! I love it!
I have a 1LE with 3LT interior. It comes with leather seats heated and cooled, as well as, the sunroof. The 1LE you’re showing in this video is only a 1LT interior package. That also explains why that one starts at only $34k. I love my 1LE. They are definitely fun to drive.
@@chickenmuffin It depends on the mileage and which interior you’re getting. If it’s base interior that’s probably about right for the price. You could get the vin# and check with your auto insurance before you buy to see what the exact value of the car you’re looking at is worth.
Hey Man I think you are by far the most energetic and intellectual young tough Man anywhere on You Tube . What Watch are you wearing ? I owned a mint 1968 SS 396 Camaro back in my College days ( 1979 ) . Cheers. From Mississauga Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
You can also mod a v6 to be faster than as SS while still maintaining the mpg, less weight and spending less than the difference of an SS, so truly, more for your money, this which i have done
Price is almost the same as the V8 Lt1 Camaro he reviewed. V8 hold their retail value more but gas mileage takes a hit. Had a couple of V6 Camaros and loved them. V8 has a 3.5s 0-60 time vs the V6 5s time.
This car is perfect only thing I'd do is opt for the stock recaro seats colored calipers get non run flat tires for better traction and blue exterior 😍... than auto cross it a lot lol
A car this beautiful for $34k is zonk proof IMHO. 😀 The shock color looks yellow with some green it. Chics will dig this car. They’ll think you have money. Hopefully my wife won’t see this comment.
V6 in a Muscle Car ( Crickets Crickets ) ☠. Don't get me wrong or nothing Joe but I kinda do like the sound & not at the same time 🤔😵. U know Joe in every Mustang & Camaro video I always go to the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack cause its the only true blooded Muscle Car out their & always has been that way since 1970 💪💪❤❤🤠🤠. Would love to see a 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Manual or Automatic 1 day 🙏🏼❤. Thanks Joe.
Except the Chevrolet Camaro trophy case is much much bigger than anything from Dodge. Dodge completely went away from muscle car building during the mid seventies. And pretty much stayed away from that for almost thirty years.
@@RaitisRides Hopefully u can get your hands on a 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Manual 👈 or automatic 🤔 in those beautiful unchanged classic colors from 1970 🙏🏼❤ !!.
Edelbrock makes a supercharger for the V6 that’s 50 state legal (you cannot install turbos on these cars that I’m aware of) and makes it faster than the V8 so that RS 1LE with more power sounds fun
Why void your warranty by adding a $3,000 -$5,000 supercharger, when you could of just spent the added $5,000-$10,000 and bought a V-8 in the first place?
A Stanton1966 it’s not for everyone, the V6 feels significantly lighter to drive and even with the supercharger it gets much better gas mileage and costs less to insure. Having a warranty is GREAT though you have a point lol but if you get one used it’s a nice plus
I drive a Mustang V-6 and just when on Mafia Racing and watched him install a supercharger on a V-6. My head was spinning by the end of that video. With all those added parts, you are just asking for trouble. My recommendation would be to buy a V-8 and forget about the supercharger if you really needed those 100 additional ponies.
I'm not a camaro guy but that is a nice looking car. GM continues dropping hints that this may be the last gen camaro. Sales aren't good at all. They killed it once before. Ford has never killed the mustang.
The current Camaro is a little too heavy for a NA V6 but the concept is good overall. I drive the OG BMW M2 which is similar in intent. If Chevy could add supercharging to the 6 then the whole picture changes.
Smoked out lights. Oldhead. I get the biggest compliments on those rear lights. I see mustangs trying to have that look. 330 i 's 2020 come with smoked rear lights. Hip hop killed rock and roll a long time ago. 2020 new era look. Have to compliment chevy for something's they do. They don't do much. Peace
CommanderMau9 I got you; If you want a big, fat, slow car that looks good and rides smooth it’s the perfect car for you... just don’t get it and expect decent performance as you will loose to things like V6 accords and Ford Fiestas
The V8 auto still need PREMIUM fuel though. The V6 runs on 87 octane. The difference between 87 and 91+ can be significant, depending on where you live.
@@Victic005 dude, what? You are very much mistaken. There is no place in the US where premium fuel is only 20 cents more than regular. In most places premium is 80 cents to a dollar more
How would people take it if GM built a new Camaro with a vw Arteon style hatch instead of the small trunk opening? I know it would be a drastic change and I know there is serious talk that the Camaro is done again in a couple years. I hate to see it go away again, this gen has been a great vehicle. Wish there were a way to keep it going.
