Is the 2020 Honda Accord LX a BETTER value than the Toyota Camry LE ? 

It's funny because the LED high beams are actually worse. The base headlights are rated acceptable. The Touring headlights are rated marginal by IIHS.

John Williams Toyota currently has the best standard LED headlights.

I always thought the bigger wheels make the Accord look a little awkward. Plus with the additional rubber on the 17 inchers you get a better ride.

The 1.5T is mated to a CVT (Regular Shifter), the 2.0 is mated to a 10AT (button shifter)

The pearl white looks too good. Ex has some nice features however, imo it's not worth the extra $5000 plus the increase in the lease unless you wanna outright buy it.

Dante Everheart They did. My mother had one. I wasn’t a fatal flaw, but an issue nonetheless. They’ve since fixed it.

I actually got a 2018 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback last year and when I'm done with that I'm planning to get an Accord Touring 2.0t or the final year Accord Sport manual.

I've test driven the LX and Camry LE and SE 3x in the past 2 weeks. I'm just terrified of the turbo into a 1.5L tiny engine, with potential oil dilution issues (that they claim to have fixed) combined with a CVT where we don't really have a great sample size of long-term reliability. 3 risks, compared to Camry's weird 8-speed auto risk. Camry's headlights are better than Accord. I prefer the Accord's seats/driving position. Accord LX handles better than Camry L (discontinued for 21) and LE, but SE is a tough call. I though the LX was more nimble, and SE feeling a little heavier- both handle great. SE seems a little more refined inside, probably because it's noticeably quieter, but it's a sporty look too and the fake leather seats mixed with fabric are nice. 18" wheels on the SE, 17" wheels on the LE, and 16" WHEEL COVERS on the L. However, you pay 2k more for the SE compared to the LE and Accord LX.. so there's that. The SE is more comparable to the Accord Sport, but handling and power.. is the same on the LX as Sport, minus the 17" vs 19" wheels. SE and LX is still comparable. The LX doesn't need to have "sport" on the back to handle great (infinitely better than the previous gen LX that I had). CVT is nice never having to search for the right gear.. but 8-speed SE is nice simply having gears, though it isn't the smoothest.

That’s exactly my concern as well with the oil dilution. I’m up here in Michigan. If cold weather has a negative impact then obviously I would have to think long and hard about purchasing this model. I do maintain a very high opinion about Honda still.

KamronHD I still wouldn’t buy any 1.5 turbo from Honda, they haven’t proven they’ve made them reliable.

Ron Nestman I’ve read that Honda is building the new cars that have the 1.5T engine with the oil dilution issue fixed. I think they’ve been doing this since the 2019 models but anything before that, you’d have to get it fixed but Honda will fix yours if you live up north

Same in my opinion. I'm not digging the current generation with the Stapler taillights and the sloping roof on the back which makes me think of it as a hatchback from the side profiling even since 2018.

The Accord engine is tuned differently from the Civic's and CR-Vs and seems to be less prone to oil dilution for some reason.

@Brad Penet FYI, my wife drives a 2018 Civic Sport Touring 6MT since November 2017, and the oil dilution we observed is very minimal. And it purrs like a kitten...

2 mos ago I decided on the 6 in GS trim (Sport in US version) and glad I did! 2.5L NA engine, 6-speed auto, LED low & hi beam headlights, heated front and rear seats, power driver seat, rear air vents, 6 speakers, AA & AC, dual auto climate control, etc. I live in colder climate and afraid of the 1.5T engine due to oil dilution issue and just don’t like CVTs. Best part was I got $7K off MSRP on a clearance 2019 6! Not only did it come cheaper than the Accord & Camry, it came cheaper than a 3, Corolla, Civic, Elantra, Forte & Sentra! Talk about value!

nothing spells reliability like a Kia. My girl's neighbor has an Optima and they've had an engine replacement and another issue. I've had a rental Forte for 3 weeks.. 26k miles on it and it's starting to make some interesting sounds when I give it gas. Also.. check out crash test ratings. Idk about Optima, but the Forte had some 3 and 4 stars, compared to straight 5s everywhere on Civic.

Dean D i have the 2020 lx and personally i like them better. since they’re smaller you get a smoother ride and they make it look less awkward than the bigger ones but that’s my opinion.
