@@Jaeno311 great, thanks! Will make it my aim to not pay any cent over MSRP too. The 2022 K5 EX also has the 360 parking cam correct? Should be so easy to know to be within the lines and not hitting anything.
Seen your first review on this car and feel in love with it. With hard work and saving I was able to get this same model as my first car! Love everything about it, color, driving, interior, added security
I bought this exact same Kia k5 gt line back in November of 2020 with 23 miles on it and now I already slapped 21k miles on it. So far so good, no engine/transmission problems whatsoever. Hopefully it stays that way🤞. Great car so far
@@bigess Honestly for the 1.6 inline 4 turbo I think it's got enough pep. If u want something fast I would recommend the 2.5 GT kia K5. But the 1.6 gtline isn't bad at all.
Just picked up the 2022 Kia K5 GT line, Wolf Grey, red interior. It's the most beautiful car I have ever seen. The rims, the curves, amber light, and the silhouette are all amazing on this vehicle. Plus the AWD & Pirelli tires. I watched your review 100 times until I finally got it this past July. Thanks man!
This is a good approach, Joe. It's nice to see what is working (and what's not) on a vehicle after it gets some miles on it. Things like squeaks and rattles that develop over time, or scuffs on plastic trim, etc. Thanks for sharing the details on this used K5!
Love to see some long term comparisons between all the major competitors and see how they hold up past 100k miles and then see some engine tear downs to look at wear issues. I know this takes time, but it’d be a great public service for those people that like to keep their cars for a long time.
Maaaaaaaan oooooooooh Maaaaaaaan!!!! Kia absolutely brings the business with this K5 GT Line!!! I see them all over the place and they do look great!!! Thanks a ton for bringing this updated video here Joe and Lori!!! #RaitisRides #OnThrottle #Kia #K5 #GT_Line
Had a 2018 Blue Stinger GT , but traded it in for a 2021 Kia K5 GT Wolf grey/Black interior , love it . Always loved the options like Self-Driving , Driving mods , Heated/AC seats , and being a Canadian needed the AWD version , 1500 Miles on it since Dec. 2020 .
Just had a K5 rental base line, stunning car! I was so surprised with the auto smart steering, I thought it was the cruise control button until I felt the steering wheel steering itself! So nice, love it from what I got to see and use!
My dad passed away and had this car. I drove it while I was home. Labored over buying it for 2 months before I bought out the loan. Waiting for the title now. Can’t wait to get behind the wheel of this again. 💪🏾💪🏾
Just ordered my 2022 K5 GT line (which is the 2nd highest trim level here in Canada) in wolf grey last week. Can't wait for it to get shipped to my dealer
15:14 I’m dying lol! Smh, never fails. But anyway, I have the 2021 K5 EX. Only about half that many miles but still feels like the first day I got it! Great car.
Bought my k5 GT LINE with premium package in passion red in may of 21. 25.000 miles now, no issues. I gave it a good hand wax last week, and that lower black trim looks new, as does the whole car! Southern California car car so no snow or salt issues to deal with.
The K5 GT-Line, especially with AWD, is a strongly appealing midsize sedan. Internet fan boys will immediately want the K5 GT with its stronger 2.5L turbo engine and DCT but apart from the fact that most won't be able to afford either one they should be careful what they wish for. The biggest weakness of both the K5 GT and the Sonata N-Line is the absence of AWD or even a limited slip differential (either mechanical or electronic) in a vehicle with about 300 HP and over 300 ft lbs of torque. (Even a FWD GTI with far less power has an LSD.) What that means is that the power of the larger engine is difficult to access without wheel hop and torque steer. Some may think those "features" are essential to "performance" but experienced "enthusiasts" know better. All in all, the GT-Line with substantial cost savings and the capacity to access the full power of the 1.6L turbo makes a lot of sense.
Had 3 Optimas...loved them (still have the 2017 SXL) Traded the 2012 EX for a 2020 Stinger RWD GT-line and looking forward to buying winter tires if we ever get snow again in Reno! Thanks JOE! Harmon kardon sounds system rocks!
I am at over a year on my 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT.Not a hiccup.Plus if anything happens and you can check the forums--you have a 10 year warranty and KIA is getting great scores on honoring it.
It’s funny. I recognized the overpass and saw YaYa’s. Joe your knowledge is outstanding and definitely helps me in my decision making for a car. Thanks
Hey Joe! My folks and I checked out a K5 in LX and GT-Line and both times I did not wanna leave unless it was in that vehicle! It's awesome! Plenty of room for me if you skip on the panoramic sunroof which I probably will. I think the LXS is the sweet spot!
I seen this car on the road the other day and it was stunning! I had to look it up and research I must say KIA have out done themselves with the Kia K5, Stinger, Telluride, Sorento, & Soul they all look very nice and great modern interior as well. I think I’m gonna go with the Kia K5 over the Chevy Malibu 🥳🤩
Heard a lot of bad stuff about KIA Customer Service at dealerships… especially from the Stinger owners. From their words that the 10 year warranty could be a 20 year warranty and they would still find a way to blame you for the issue
I just bought a GT line a month ago. Rides like butter and I get more comments on it than any other car I had. A guy thought I paid 60k for it yesterday lol. I used to have a kia soul back in the day and it drove exactly the same as the day it was new when I traded it in at over 80k miles.
Recently switched from KIA to Mazda. Greatest decision I have ever made. There is a reason why Genesis, Hyundai, and KIA have dropped substantially in ratings according to consumer reports.
Love my 2022 K5, going to be driving it 15-20k miles a year. Easily one of the most reliable brands today. Having owned a 2010 Kia Forte previously, I'm sure this thing will last to 200k and beyond!
I had a 2016 Optima SX Turbo and now I drive a 2019. Both cars are perfect. Not one problem in 90,000 of driving. I got a Kia because you get more for your money and the reliability is great...and they look great too.
I actually like the way these cars look I was really looking into one but went with the Camry instead because I wasn’t sure about how reliable the Kia was
Really love the design of this car, I've been seeing them appear more and more by where I live. The full blown GT model could use an LSD and an extra pedal though 😏
No MT in the K5 future, I'm afraid. Midsize sedans are already stagnant in terms of sales and adding a third pedal wouldn't help. But the absence of any sort of LSD (electronic or manual) in the K5 GT is its major weakness. Perhaps KIA will see the error of their ways on that score. As far as a V6 is concerned, that's a non-starter. Period. A naturally aspirated would only add weight and no performance advantage compared to the 2.5L turbo 4 and a turbo version of a V6 wouldn't come close to justifying its cost in terms of sales.
Kia reliability is hit or miss. I have a 2013 Rio and I’ve never had any major problems with it, but my friend has a 2015 Soul and has had to take it to the dealer 3 times. She even needed a new engine. This is all before 100,000 miles.
If you want a reliable daily and looking within the midsize sedan category It is always good to play it safe and go Toyota or Honda or their higher class variations Lexus Acura
When I’m ready to trade in my forte, I want to look at getting this car. I’m not ready yet because I just got it in June and I’m not ready to trade in but I know that I would want another Kia because these are good cars.
I love it. I recently bought a Kia Optima 2015 EX trim, and maaan I am falling in love with this car. It's so good looking car and it's so smooth. So my next new car most probably will be the Kia K5.
I have this exact same car and I’ve never been more in love with a car in my life the only thing I don’t like is you can’t change the temperature of the heat in the car when you use the car starter it stays at 72 you can’t make it stay on high so your car is super warm when you get in but besides that 10/10 highly recommend
Joe, have been following your channel, like the way you present these reviews / walkthroughs. May I request (If possible) drop a couple of (insights) lines on the resale values of the cars you review. This would help us better understand the value hold capabilities of various brands.
@@jesuscervantes5353 freaking LOVE IT. Drives like you’re on a cloud. I caught myself going 90 on the freeway last night on accident 😂 I’d also look into the Kia stinger if I were you. That’s what I wanted originally but I didn’t want to wait 6 months for them to get them at the dealership
@@adub6637 I was looking into a stinger but my wife is the main driver, I have a company truck. And I definitely don’t want her driving that one with my daughter in there lol I’m going to take a k5 gt line for a test drive this weekend, let’s see how it goes!
If I could get any car (mind you I have to pay for it and I am an E-3 in the Marine Corps), it would be this. In black on black. But it is $27.5k brand new and even with a $10-12k down payment I do want a car payment of around $300/mo or less, and it is difficult to make happen. Thank for the review, love that you always get to the new cars unlike many other reviewers who opt for things they like, which may consist of $50-60K or more cars. Liked, and still subbed as always.
Thanks for the review it was very detailed I’m kinda for a bit of a crazy driver so this helped a lot…. Lol…. I’m looking to buy one this month and I’ve been looking at reviews for about a month now and haven’t heard any bad reviews from Kia… so I’m definitely getting one….!!! Thanks ❤❤
While I looked at this car when shopping I ended up going with the 2021 Toyota Camry SE And glad I did. I had a Sorento and between the 6 recalls during its lifetime and the creaky ride after only 6 years I just don’t trust the brand like I do Toyota. Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them.
