GOOD MORNING! There is no better way than to start your day with some ON THROTTLE! Let me know your honest opinion about the new Type R in the comments section! Thanks for being super supportive!
Last gen price was lower, but my dealership had three at 52k, now all three had some upgrades, each were sold within two weeks. What a beautiful car Joe, awesome review 👍🏽
That type R looks amazing Joe. Honda did an awesome job making sure they put out a good product. Those rims are probably my favorite thing about it, I love the black on black with the red brake pad.
You can tell Joe was in his element on the track… laser focus and he meant the business. Definitely held back by the driver in front of him. Great review!
@@RaitisRides Yup and here it is again.. "Elantra N is a faaaaar better value especially with its DCT auto trans .." .. I know the Type R has more hype and respect and Honda is a better brand but the Elantra N is still a better car
So glad they put a proper limiter at red line instead of the hard fuel cut from the 10th Gen. That has to be my one of my bigger performance complaints of my 10th gen Type R on the OEM tune. Great review you two! Can't wait to see one in real life so I can make my final judgments. Seems like they did a lot to help with the heat under the hood. Curious to see how it holds up on the track with higher ambient temperatures.
@@gorgonismztruth1551 That it very well may be but man I would be lying if I didn’t say it’s hard to look at. I’ve been in a few of them and I definitely see the value it’s a shame we never got the i30N in the states that may have won me over when I shopping around and ended up with the 2019 Civic Type R.
Manufacturers are making great affordable performance sports cars. Your last few reviews on these cars just brings a smile to my face. I feel like we're all slowly coming back to having fun on the roads, while making great looking cars. As always, great review Joe and Lori!
@@winstonwinston3487 Not just for a car...for a performance sports car. For a performance sports car, I think so. We're not talking about a Hyundai Elantra, here.
I’m 6’3 1/2 “ and I would like to lose 3.5 inches …..so I don’t bang my head on stuff. Great looking car ! Looks like the official car of Raiti’s rides R. Awesome review ! 👍
I'm just gonna go right ahead and ask you to load this CTR onto that expedited Massachusetts bound transporter please and thank you very much!!! As a repeat Civic owner this checks all the boxes for me and I am ready for a Type R...This Type R in my driveway!!! Amaaaaaaaaaazing review Joe and Lori and Steven!!! Truly appreciate the detail you guys put into covering every single car!!!
Hi great Vlog as a retired Master Motor Mechanic mostly Euro cars and everything thing else but I’ve been Major Honda Fan/Convert. Myself and also my wife drive Honda’s for reliability and also resale valve. I got my order in for this car it’s looks and sounds amazing for the money leaves everything else in the water. Thanks to you and Ms Lara for the great footage your both one of my favourite car Vloggers on RU-vid. Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul ( live in Australia/Thailand )
Found a couple of them at my local dealership in southern LA and the asking price with all the jingle bells and no trade in was over $62K. Thought I’m in a position to get one I’m not up to spend that much money on it, instead I went to a bmw dealership and got me a 2021 bmw M2 competition. 👍🏻
2007 Vette for $60K? Just get C7 Grand Sport with a few miles and call it done. CTR is not even close performance wise and GS is a much better car with better materials and chassis.. everything really.
People need to go see this car in person. It's just stunning. I'm not a fan at all of the red seats but I don't even mind that. I just bought the 2022 Honda Accord 2.0t and I love it, so I know the engine on this car won't disappoint a single soul. I still prefer the 3.5 engine on my older Accord but this 2.0t engine gets the job done in a very impressive way. Every car enthusiast should agree that this new type R is an amazing car.
Mr Rattis haven't seen you glow like that in a while Fantastic job as always in California beautiful roads there wow ridiculous car the type R is back baby can't wait for you to Full Throttle here in Florida.
Great review Joe. Very well done, love this new model liftback, looks so cool. Also Lori camera work is amazing sharp and beautiful, you guys are legends when it comes to cars reviews. Congrats !!
The new Civic Type R has definitely come a long way from the 5th gen FK8 that's for sure. More interior room. More power. More fun. I'm not a hatchback fan by any means, but still believe they are pretty cool when they are enthusiast-performing. This is definitely one hatchback I could definitely see myself getting behind the wheel of long term. Now that the Civic Type R has shown itself in its entirety, it'll be the turn of it's luxury cousin the Acura Integra Type S to make headways to see what it will bring to the table. Anything the FL5 6th gen Civic Type R is missing, I think the Acura Integra Type S will make up for it in a huge way and I'm definitely looking forward to that when Acura announces it and when it comes to life. The 6th gen Type R cannot be called a boy racer from its 5th gen predecessor sibling. The FL5 is definitely is grown man racer.
Yeah, Lori always does a good job. He's a lucky man and has a great job. I'm a Twinkie fan too. The "twisty bends" and the "on throttle" is where it's at. I also can't forget about the functional front ends of these cars and trucks.😕🙂🤓🤠😎😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
@@trumpisastump9382 it was either pay the 10k over and it’s mine, or don’t pay it and let somebody else buy it. I wasn’t going to pass it up. I’ve owned it for two months now and don’t regret it at all. It’s worth every penny
Great review! FL5 will be a classic JDM car to keep Dont forget to hit me up when youre back in LA - My 640hp R is in the shop - will be well over 700hp with the new cams/ported head upgrade - go on throttle with me lol
yes we get the higher horepower model, torque is 420NM as well. it will be a bit quicker then the US version. Also the US version gets many standard options, wich makes the car heavier as the JDM and EUDM. JDM and EUDM get lesser options wich makes the car much lighter as well. i believe my honda dealer said 100 KG lighter then US model.
@@lexburen5932 I suspected that we’d get the more powerful version in Europe, considering that for the outgoing model, we got the more powerful version.
Joe,you want to why this 11th type r has more horsepower than the 10th gen? It’s because of the red seatbelts and the red type r floor mats. That’s an additional 10 horsepower for both the floor mats and the red seatbelts. Incredible on throttle action joe and incredible camera work Lori! I wouldn’t mind this as my first car. I really wouldn’t. Although I would get it in the premium gray. 😊😊😊
Hi Joe and Lori great Jobs botha yaz... Well I would have liked to hear your honest take on performance per dollar between the Honda Type R and the Hyundai Type N's. Even if it it's a tie in your opinion. Are they worth their entry fee? Thanx yew2. Perfect content for people who love cars and love to drive sportingly.
Yes : third brake light very clean .Look up and now here is this 'beautiful' black appendix that I would put on e-bay immediately... and it's not the wiper.
Worth the money? Not when Honda dealerships are price-gougin ….. oops, I mean utilizing “market adjustments” of $25-30k. 70-80 thousand for a Honda? No thanks.
I had to pull the "eenie, meenie, miney, joe" as to whom review I'm watching 1st and here I am.Here We Go "On Throttle"YEAHHH..Awesome Awesome review my guy and remember ur #1 fan from Toronto da-6IX baby.👊🏼👍🏼
Nice Xivic Type R I think it's a dandy. Let R stand for the 0 to 60 miles per hour. Love the video.and there is a 6 speed manual transmission or a 0 speed automatic transmission.
@@RaitisRides Warning! This is not a luxury car, but At least the Type R has rear windows to roll down but really, the back seat passengers are going to suffer. There's cup holders for rear passengers but I think it's missing some content but hey, it's a performance car not a Mercedes S class you can't get everything perfect.
Do you think this is a good car to get if I am not interested in using it at the track, but mostly interested in filling a void of love and acceptance? 🔥 🚗 Currently my Kia Soul is not impressing people around me.
The problem is throttle house proved the old one is quite a bit faster in a roll race, and with the same tires as the new one probably has the same track times
The car itself is amazing; Honda outdid themselves with the FL5. Unfortunately with dealership mark-ups being what they are the car is being priced into luxury car territory and those cars just outperform the Type R in almost every metric. Not sure I'd choose a civic over a car with equal horse power, better road dampeners and more creature comforts (e/g heated/cooled seats, less road noise, etc.).
