I completely forgot to mention that now you have to spend a FORTUNE to get an exhaust for the 2024 model. Slip-ons are a thing of the past! ---- but anyway... older gen or new one? Leave a comment below!

New one. Better colours, IMU, brakes, horsepower/torque and engine refinements, suspension changes, ability to add cruise control.

I only bought the RS Moto2 Edition was because of its limited edition and because I also have the Daytona Moto2. I don't really have a way to bring both out to San Diego for you to try. I'm 65. October/November it's great in Tucson. If my buddy Mike Hall in Long Beach comes maybe you can hitch a ride. We can take all the bikes out. Bring the Ape! He's got a good size trailer. Something to think about. You're 2020 RS is definitely worth hanging on to. Good video bud! 😊

RE: " I only bought the RS Moto2 Edition was because of its limited edition and because I also have the Daytona Moto2. " Same , here. Got yellow. Looking into an ECU flash and full exhaust. As it is, the 2024 is slower than my 2018 was.

Same sentiments here. I got a 2020 black version of yours instead, fully suped up with all the protection and a Zard Slip on, and on bnew Rosso 4s to boot. As I saw it, it was incremental gains on an already great bike. True on the Stylemas vs M50's. You wouldn't even get to the limit of the M50 to warrant an upgrade. The only thing to ponder for me was the IMU, and even that you could compensate for with your own IMU (better throttling and butt feel). I'll probably ponder in the future, maybe around 2 gens down the road.

Every time I ride the bike, I’m smh thinking why I am even thinking of selling it. The only bike that can replace it (in 2023) is the new one but I can’t justify the 6K upcharge.

I don't have a good historical comparison, but I can comment on my Street Triple RS Moto 2. I have found this to be an excellent bike. The colors, the torque and HP, the quick shifter/blipper, the braking capabilities and tech package is great. I do love this bike...and (like you) I have many in my stable. Is it worth the money? Maybe. But if you do have the cash then I say...do it! But if you are low on cash...maybe go with a lower level/cost bike.

went from 2018 RS to a 24RS, paid $12k for the new bike, the new colors are pretty sick. Got cosmic yellow, it really stands out. More realistically only a $2k-$3k price difference, at least around here. The engine, gearing, quick shifter, are all slightly better. I love the new bike and glad I moved into the 24. The tank and other parts are now plastic, which is a bit of bummer.

@@PetroHead I'm still on the R6 so I won't take any of it personal! Joking aside, it's always good to hear an honest opinion whether you agree with it or not. @PetroHead

@@brianweir1366 Power isn't everything my boy... If it was, I wouldn't even buy another 600 or even own my Striple anymore. @brianweir1366
@brianweir1366 Год назад
@@PetroHead I fully agree with you, I don't think I'll ever sell the R6. What it may lack in power compared to a litre bike, it makes up in engagement and fun factor! I'm considering a second bike as I'm not sure how long manufacturers will keep producing 1000+cc sport bikes given the rules and regulations keep getting more restrictive.
@PetroHead
@PetroHead Год назад
@@brianweir1366 as long as motogp, motoamerica and BSB exist, they will always make them. However, regulations will make them a PIA to own and work on.. thus, the fun factor will be gone. At that point, bikes like R6 will skyrocket.. maybe a decade or even two.. who knows man.. just enjoy what you got. PS: one thing is for sure.. we have reached the peak. All downhill from here. It’s the ‘boiling the frog slowly effect’ you’re currently witnessing.

Old school rider here, against all the intrusive electronic aids. And not a lover of the new graphics too. So for now I'm thinking about getting a 2016/17 Speed Triple R (latest sold here in Brazil, unfortunately), or a 765RS, or a MT-09, wich blew my mind on a recent ride. Never rode the Speed R. Please, if you guys have rode the Speed R, let me know your thoughts against the RS and the MT-09. Best regards.

9k-10k for a used 600 class To be honest I thought this was a bit high for the displacement. So I bought a used gen2 bmw s1000r. Which has QS up and down, blipper and cc and higher displacement. Also has brembos and active suspension. Soo seemed more value for me personally.

@PetroHead

edit: in response to your IMU comment which you removed IMU's weren't developed for safety, they were developed for track performance. The only thing it will do is prevent front wheel lift by cutting power but I've never been able to even purposely get my wheel up and I ride pretty hard. In 2024, IMU's have become cheap and standard equipment like power windows for cars of yesteryear. Feeling safe is a placebo effect. For everything else, you have to be on the ragged edge of performance to see benefits. As I mentioned, electronics are more a hindrance than practicality for most riders.

Some oil leaks are easy to fix. Might need to tighten the filter, change the gasket or the washer. Change oil, replace filter and washer, check the bolts for tightness around the crank/engine. Try to find the source, of course.

The 2024 has a new, smoother quickshifter/blipper the geometery is different, a bit more power (the gearing makes more odds) and its got an IMU so you get cornering ABS and far better traction control. TBH 95% of the time you wont be able to tell. You can tell the change in gear ratios, it feels a fair bit snappier. Oh and btw the TFT is still utter shite. Why the fuck they don't give a software graphic analogue tacho as an option display a la the 2018 version is madness. It's so frustrating. I'm honestly tempted by a 2021 765 R with the old school LCD and dial tacho. Spend the extra on going on trips up the alps....
