Is the 36MM too small for MEN?! 

I'm 5"11, 195 pounds and love a 36mm Datejust. Very classy and comfortable. For a sporty watch I prefer a little bigger, but for dressy watch I like the elegance of a small watch.

36mm is king. Big wrist or not. Classy and elegant.

I’m 6’ but only have a 6.2” wrist. All my watches are under 40mm and the best fit for me is my 38mm Aqua Terra. When choosing an Explorer 1, I went for the 36mm option and it looks great on my wrist. I could’ve worn the 40mm but going a bit smaller was right for me. By the way, it’s worth mentioning that the lug-lug length is important, sometimes more so than case width.

A lot of people don’t even wear their watches properly but will be focused on mm size I’m 6’1” 215 and have watches ranging from 33-42mm and all them look great on wrist

A 36mm 18k day date is a flex period

36 mm is the best. Most watches look to big and people think everyone is looking. So a new Roli at 40 or 41mm is extra bling but too big in my opinion. At 36 mm people who know the will see and be just as pleased. Understatement is cool. I go for vintage all the time 1940s to 1960s, so I wear 33 to 37 mm. Omega, Universal, Certina or Dugena and you can get a nice piece and keep 2/3 of the money that a Datejust Roli will set you back

I've got a 34.5mm vintage Omega, a 42mm Tissot and a bunch of sizes in-between. Like I tell people looking to get in shape, don't focus on the numbers, focus on the look. If you see a watch you like, try it on.

Honestly I love some of the variations that the 36 day date comes in that might not always be in 40-41 and 36 does feel more classy at times

Depends on the wrist. 38 seems to be my sweet spot. I thought it was 40 until I tried 38 and 36 mm watches.

I wear a 36mm Datejust everyday and I'm a skinny guy at 165 lbs and I get compliments on it all the time..anything else looks too big on my wrist

I’m 6’1 and 225lbs and I think anything larger than 38mm is pushing it for me. I have a few 39mm-40mm watches I still wear, but after just following along with the big case trend of the past couple of decades I realized a couple years back that 34mm-37mm is kind of the sweet spot for me.

If you have less than a 7 inch wrist stick to a 36 mm. 41mm is perfect for 7inch+ wrist size. Lug to lug size matters too.

So I live with acromegaly. So what should I do if the watch won't fit. And you can come measure. Been arrested once for an answer of a lawsuit. And the hand cuffs didn't fit. So is extra links a thing or that's ugly.

I didn't know this was a thing😂 I usually wear a 42mm just because my first watch was that size that's what I usually stuck with.....now I might go try a 36mm just to see😂

Think of a 36mm Rolex as a classic Mercedes Benz 300 SL all original so beautiful to look at. A 41mm is a modern S500 with aftermarket market extra large 30" wheels and tinted windows with LED glow lights lol

My mom owns presidential day date that she got from a friend that owed her money, she doesn’t wear it, however the problem is the watch is on the smaller side, it’s smaller then 36mm. I’m not sure as a male it would suite me wearing, would feel kinda embarrassed if it were to small, it although it’s a nice time piece.. anybody has dealt with this type of struggle prior? Can a person wear even smaller than 36?

36 mm is fine. I have a 7.5 inch wrist, and prefer watches that have a lug to lug, anywhere between 43 mm and 48 mm.

I don't think I could wear a 36 mm. I am 5'10 220 with 8 inch wrists. I have worked with my hands my whole life. Most recently, I was a jet engine specialist. It really thickens the wrist.

All this 36mm coping. 41 all the way. You got all these points on the aesthetics however people who are about their money view rolex as an investment that they can flex. Investments you want them to perform well. A 41 will hold value and sell way better than the 36 if you decide to liquidate in the future. Anything 36mm/diamonds/two-tone = watches for women, niche market, harder sell than plain jane rolex 41mm steel.

Its not a ladies watch...ladies watch is a 26mm...if you have to wear bigger than the 36 mm then most likely youre over weight....

I think large watches, anything over 36mm, are ugly and cartoonish. Some people having legitimate different tastes, I’m willing to push out to 40 mm for agree to disagree sake. I think it is mass hysteria that people think otherwise. Think about it. Large rings are clunky and garish. Large bracelets? Thin ones, ok in isolated cases, but remember thick ones are called manacles. Why would big watches be different? Unless your arms are 10 feet long and you need to read the time from a great distance, it makes no sense. Which is the reason why fundamentally it looks stupid. You don’t need a watch face that large. Since most of the time in the history or watches they have been smaller, even when making watches larger would be easier to produce, i predict most larger watches will decrease in value once people get back to the median and insanity breaks out somewhere else.

36mm is TOO SMALL!! It's definitely too small for me. 43mm is bare minimum for me. And using a Rolex as an example is not a good way to prove this point.
