Is The Canon EOS R5 Worth It In 2022? | Long Term Review 

Fell in love with this camera on day one... and still loving it on every shoot I go. It over-heated on one occasion because I forgot to turn it off in between a couple of (long) takes. Using it with the Ninja V at the moment and haven't stubled in that situation since. I shoot 24p in 4k/1080 most of the time when I do video so it's not that big of a deal for me. But using it for stills most of the time... (95%) of the time. Can't complain. At all.

Of course it’s still worth it. Every “RU-vidr” these days want to do a “is it still worth it?” Video and it’s hilarious that people try so hard to make this camera sound like it’s old. It’s a year and a half years old let it hit 3-4 years at least 🤣

Hey Man, that was a really great video; you gave the good & the bad and even suggested a cheaper competitor version, (though I’ve always had a thing against that make cos back in the day I always felt their ‘hi-fi’ stuff was over priced and not as good as less expensive makes and that opinion has stayed with me ). Hi Alex, yes i am switching between 4K fine and 1080p with the R5 and sometimes i like the 1080p image more , i am thinking that there are so many cameras in this market witch makes the movie to sharp and that's not natural from my eyes . take care from a Canon R5 lover :-)

I’m brand new into photography and picked up the R5 in November as my first “real” camera outside of phones or disposables when that was a thing lol. Yes I’m old. I’m finding the true cost are the lenses and that makes the cost difference between R5 and R6 very insignificant. I was debating between the 2 also considered Sony options for some time but decided to go with the R5 and I am glad I did. Those 45 megapixels along with the R5 colors is much better for the uses I want to get out of it. I have no desire to shoot much video and definitely not 8k, I really don’t get the point of doing 8K video actually. People are not going to notice a difference unless there hardware can process 8K and even then there is the law of diminishing returns. People have a hard time between 1080P and 4K, so going from 4K to 8K will be even harder to differentiate I think. Not like human eyes are getting better just because our technology is. Haha. Not sure of the point of my comment. 🤣 Thanks for the video.

Would you choose the r5 over the fx3 for video documentary work? Any overheating issues since the 1.6 update

Hi, a question. Can the R5 make an internal time lapse video or it just saves the pictures and then you need a pc to make the video?

The R5 is fantastic. I've been using it for a wile now too and it's easily the best camera Canon has ever made. but ya that overheating is pain if you're using the high end video modes.

How long can you shoot video before it begins to overheat? (In minutes…less than 30?) Also, how well does it shoot lowlight images? Let’s say I was shooting sport photography at night or indoors…do you believe this camera could produce the same incredible results as your examples in this video?

Do you shoot in 4K or 8K. 8K is generally what overheats or 4K 120. On youtube with it compression you can't tell HD 4k or 8k

So, do we get to know if A was 1080 and B was 4K? Or vice versa? Thanks for the video. Been debating on this camera for at least a year…

Hi, I'm preparing to film a documentary (interviews) about immigrants for a student project. I got a fund of $3000 and will have to pay some more from my pocket. I'm struggling to buy Canon EOS R5 vs. Canon R6 Mark II. I want to film 4k 24 fps (and sometimes slow motion 60 or 120) with a length of 45 mins. I wonder which camera will be less overheated when filming? Can I buy this lens for either of the two cameras? Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens I mean, I am trying to choose the best affordable camera and lens. Can someone please give me some advice? Yes, I'm a newbie/beginner!
