Hi Alex! First of all what a great video and regards from Mexico! I was remembering when on 2022 I was deciding on buying the iPhone SE 3rd gen or the iPhone 13 Mini and at the end I chose the 13 Mini due to many features such as the cameras, MagSafe and Face ID but, I realized I don’t take a lot of pictures and I really miss the Touch ID but the main reason is how thin this iPhone SE is. I’m very happy with my13 Mini but it was a very difficult decision when I bought it cause my previous phone was an iPhone SE 1st gen and I loved the form factor and design.
That is a tough decision! The mini was, also, a great phone and powerful. Mini has already been chopped from the lineup so it's life expectancy will be less. The SE is looking like will be the last model of it's kind after this year. There are rumors of a new SE with it being all screen and 6.1in, which doesn't make sense. I wish they'd bring back the mini and make that the SE. I know I love touch ID and wish it would stick around in newer devices.
To be honest, they could keep that form factor for 10 years if they’d increase the thickness and put a 4000 mah battery and a slightly bigger camera in it.
Great video. I'd still happily use a C100/C100 mark II today myself, despite the kit that I have at my disposal. I would say to anyone looking for a workhorse that won't break the bank, get a C100 or C100 mark II and spend the rest of your money on the things that really _do_ add production value; lighting, sound, talent (if doing narrative), travel fees if travelling for good documentary stories, good glass and so on. Plus, you'll save a small fortune on storage with these cameras. I use a pair of C500 Mark II and a pair of C300 mark III for all my work, often shooing RAW, and it is a nightmare where storage is concerned.
Exactly, the C100mkii is definitely STILL a workhorse. I will say I actually have a C200B now, but only because I got a great deal off it…like an insane deal. Still, the 8bit out of it is really good and if I want to shoot RAW I have that option. But yeah, I always tell fellow cinematographer friends to invest in lights with the extra money they save. I think lighting and knowing how to light it far more important than the camera you’re shooting on.
Funny thing. You probably weren't around when the only thing the guys at the office bragged about having the smallest was their cell phone. They went from the brick to the best little flip phone, Motorola Razr. Then the cell grew to the size of a small tablet. Love my newly acquired Se3.
It’s a great phone for the everyday user, if you use the phone for your business and need the extra capacity and ability to then it’s available. I bought one of these for my wife and a year later needed to replace my outdated phone and got one also. Love it and the battery life is great.
We use an ipad air and macbook, so it’s pointless to have a flagship iphone when those other devices will do all the heavy tasks. That way you can have an se and just keep it simple, i am still using the 2020 model, for everyday tasks, it’s perfect, and the size is great.
Absolutely agree. Really can’t beat the pocket image quality for the price. Now that the C100mkii is discontinued completely I’m sure the used market will be cheaper too.
I got this phone after my iPhone 11 kicked the bucket. It's a great little phone, I'm not a heavy user anymore so it fits my needs. It's difficult to hold a huge phone so this is ideal with my arthritis. It's light weight too so that's grand. My company uses these as work phones too and the are magic. I tried a Samsung but they aren't for me.
Ive been using SE as my Daily Driver for almost 2 years now,,, BH is 87% now ,,,, im also a heavy user and SE is love And perfect Replacement of My old Iphone 6s ,.., The Way Some of youtubers said its actually not outdated for everyone ,,, It still feels new in performance like When i first bought it
The major issue with the SE 3 is that tech RU-vidrs feel as if it’s almost the exact same phone as the SE 2 (same build and camera system). I think they would hate on it less had it had the design of the XR.
But it’s meant to be the budget phone. In my opinion they should leave it the way it is because if people want an all screen iPhone there are already plenty of options to choose from in apples current lineup.
@@alexshotthese I totally get where you’re coming from. Personally I think it’s a fine phone. However, tech reviewers feel as if the midrange android counterparts offer so much more.
@ashortguy24 the android midrange 100% do offer more so I agree with you there. This phone is designed to get peoples foot in the door with Apple as well as the people who really don’t care for the new all touch screen phones. We prefer our Touch ID. At this point Apple are selling really good phones but they’re selling an even better ecosystem.
Reviews seem to concentrate on camera quality and gaming for some reason. How about how they actually function for a pertinent use: mobile productivity. I’m a heavy user of Microsoft 365 mobile apps for work: Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, etc. Reviewers never seem to test these real world practical scenarios, instead it’s all about taking photos and playing games. The only reason I upgrade phones is either because the battery cycles has reached the point that it no longer holds sufficient charge, or because an app I use requires a more recent OS than the phone supports. Both of those requirements were met when my original SE only lasted a few hours per charge followed by no longer receiving iOS updates to the point where certain apps would no longer update, requiring a more recent OS. So, I got an SE2. Still does what I need.
Now yh there are many people bashing this phone , but others also just say that it's not a smart choice , because you can get another better iphone for around the same . Correct me if i'm wrong .
A better iphone is still more expensive than the SE. Granted, not that much more expensive, but still more money. I would hardly ever tell anyone to get the 64GB SE model, which is $429. So I suggest getting the 128GB model, which is $479. The iPhone 13 is $599. Over $100 more expensive and to some people they don't want to spend that much more because the SE and iPhone 13 have the exact same RAM and chipset.
Unfortunately most fans of the franchise seem to disown it as well as normal movie goers. It really wasn’t that bad and after watching the latest Indy film…it’s actually better than that one.
Plenty of other videos out there showing the footage of the C200, but if you look through my videos you’ll see a doc I did with the C200 if your curious to see what I shot with it.
Hi I am thinking to buy a peek design backpack for traveling and everyday so I am thinking to buy this one, do you think there is enough space for a 2 weeks of light packing of only clothes and use it as personal item ?
YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!! This iPhone is incredible for $429 or with some carriers, $189.99. RU-vidrs just get it wrong (except you), I don't think they understand that everyone doesn't need an iPhone 15 Pro Max and not everybody wants to pay like $1299 for it. You did a spectacular job with this video, keep up making these HONEST and TRUTHFUL tech reviews!
The problem is that people are right that its bad for most consumers. The screen is bad (60Hz IPS in a phone that costs almost £500 for a usable storage config is very bad), the camera quality is shocking on a phone that expensive and besides the CPU/GPU being good it just isnt really competitive in any way with phones in the same price bracket. When tech youtubers look at the Iphone SE, they see it in the smartphone midrange price bracket and they view it as apples attempt to offer a more mid range option to Iphone customers. The problem with the SE is that for more than 90% of the people in that price bracket, there are multiple android phones from huge brands (including Samsung) which have: 90-120 Hz Amoled Displays High quality Cameras More affordable storage Bigger screens Better front cameras Enough CPU and GPU power to complete their daily tasks Face Unlock Basically, Why not just buy a samsung A53 or a Oneplus Nord 2t and use the change to buy a case. The CPU's in those phones might be worse but thats not going to affect most users to much, whereas the other cuts apple makes have a substantial impact on user experience The biggest issue is apples flat out refusal to offer an midrange or budget phone for an average consumer. There is a niche in the market for the SE, but apple also has a huge segment of underserved consumers who get their phones on huge stupid contracts because they can't actually afford to buy them, or who are forced to buy pre owned phones and have a worse expereince. This is even worse now that its been over a year since the SE came out. Apple need to sort their strategy ou.
These android phones are cool, but this phone give another option, for those who prioritize performance over everything else. This is really valuable for some users.
@ThibautMahringer I actually agree, I'm just trying to explain why in the tech review space they it tends to get overlooked or dislikes. It's the only "new" offering for apple in this price bracket, but if you are looking at it as a midrange phone it makes the compromises in all the wrong places.
@@Drakshl Your point of view is not wrong either, my comment was just to bring some nuance. I would personally not buy a midrange phone with lower performance. That’s why I value an Android flagship as my main phone, and the SE 2022 as a secondary phone. Both have hign end performance, but I’m not paying massive amount of cash for both. I wouldn’t get a 15 Pro as a main phone and a midrange Android phone as a secondary phone. And see no value in getting two flagships either. To each their own ! I’m sure Android midrange can and do please a lot of people.
I would assume most people buying an SE are either getting one as a first phone into apple or are already part of the apple ecosystem. That is one reason why I won’t leave apple, their ecosystem and how all devices play with one other. It just works and works smoothly.
@@alexshotthese I’m personally not invested in the Apple ecosystem at all. I just see massive appeal from the performance their phones put out. Apple chips are just so good ! Perfect for a secondary phone.
Totally get it. Hard to ditch something you're used to and love. I've never experienced higher refresh rates on screens so I'm not really missing much myself.
Holy crap that's a great deal! I just picked one up used as well for around that price but had 702hrs. Body was in pristine condition though so my guess it was just a studio cam. These cameras are meant to go for a long time so I'm probably good for another 700hrs, but I doubt I'd ever make it to that with my style of shooting.
I was going to buy se but I've never had a iPhone before. So I decided to go to utube for advice and all I heard was this phone is sh*t don't buy it but I couldn't find anything similar to my needs so I got it anyway and I love it 😊
