@justpray365
@justpray365 Год назад
@@justdoinit2378 I know I did. My first car, (in 1972), was a 1970 Dodge Charger with a 440 Six Pack. Every time I got in it, it felt special. Looking at how the gauges were arranged, the tactile feel of real buttons instead of an info screen. The raw unrefined feel of driving it. Opening the hood and knowing that you could easily do maintenance. I have a new Challenger Scat Pack with a Shaker hood, and while it feels good and will outrun the 70 Charger, it feels different. The 70 Charger was a “manly man” ruff around the edges machine. The new cars are so refined that they just drive you instead of you driving them. But I’m glad I got to experience what some call “muscle car 2.0.” And as I age, refined helps me continue to drive.

The 1970 Z/28 is one of the most beautiful classic muscle cars, IMO, and the LT1 is a legendary engine. The RS appearance package with its bumperettes made the front end better looking as well, and I definitely prefer the Corvette inspired quad round taillights of the early second-gen F body Camaros. Great video, and I love the car.

If I could design a 2025 Camaro, it would have a front clip similar to the first gen RS/SS hidden headlights, and a rear clip with round dual taillights of the early second gen.

Old cars have so much style. Yeah they're a little more crude but driving cars like this really make you respect the power they put out. Because new cars have so many electronic controls people are under the impression they are a good driver when in reality they aren't. If you can handle an old muscle car then you can handle a ton more. Great review Joe and team.

I recall it was referred to a 70 1/2 model because it came out mid year. His was copper colored without the stripe. Mods back then were a set of Centerline Auto Drag wheels, Mickey Thompson S/S radials or some BFGs, Lakewood slapper traction bars, Hooker headers and a must is flipping over the air cleaner lid to get the nice induction sound when you opened up the 4 barrels on that carb. Can't forget the JVC tape deck, equalizer and some 6x9 Jensens in the back shelf! Let's go cruise the strip!

As the proud owner of three early 2nd gen Camaros, I'm happy to proclaim it one of the best looking muscle cars of all time. Something that doesn't get talked about a lot is how much better the 2nd gen handled over its predecessors. As much as I love the 1st generation, unless that front linkage has been modified and modernized, I'll take the sure road hugging feel of a 2nd gen any day. As for styling cues, search youtube for any number of videos on restomodded early 2nd gens...can't beat a modern powertrain and suspension when paired with a phenomenal chassis.

Thanks Joe! This may be my favorite video you produced. Why? Bcuz this was the car IN my dreams back in the day. I'm 66, so this was my era.

I had one of these as a teenager in the 90s. I had some of the best times of my life in that car and this example is similar to mine but it was blue and had an automatic with a B&M shifter

Although I’ve loved all Camaro’s my whole life I remember seeing a 1992 Camaro Iroc Z at the age of 2 and fell in love it was black with the chrome iroc z wheels. Keep these older cars coming Joe love the video idea

I like you reviewing old muscle cars vs every year of Dodge Hellcats that come out and are all the same. Thanks for this one!

My first car that I purchased when I joined the Navy in 1988, was a 1971 Camaro Split Bumper Rally Sport. It was a cool car, but slow. It had a 307 with a 2 speed powerglide. I ended up getting it bored and added a Turbo 350 tranny. Woke the car up. Wish I would have kept it.
