Agreed I felt the same, I bought my 2023 in black, and it blends in very well. The new engine is phenomenal, my last Subaru was a 2007 WRX STI. I think an STI transmission swap would be all this car needs if you plan on making big power, the chassis and engine are fantastic to build on 👍🏻

I think it is insane that a stage 3 E50 WRX is able to beat a forged internal + G25 660 turbo + intercooler + Ethanol boost cooler EA888 Audi TTS my friend has without touching the internals and turbo. It really shows how this engine is a cost efficient power house. I wish there is an STi with FA24F.

Nice video man. People are definitely sleeping on the fa24 because they're too busy crying about having no sti. So glad I bought a 2022 wrx instead of a 2021 sti. I'm running e40 and intake with a jb4 tuner and the car rips. As far as the cladding, I personally love it and think it looks ridiculous when painted. You said exactly what I've been telling people for months now. The sti always had a better motor than the wrx, with the fa24 here, there is no better motor to put in an sti and the money savings you get from not buying sti badges can be put into performance essentially making it the only smart option when it comes to performance and dollar for dollar amount. Don't get me wrong, after having my 04 wrx it was my dream to have an sti one day but I'll gladly give up the dream of an sti badged car for the best motor subaru has made. Why go back in time when you can help lead the future..... Check out some of my videos of my vb and I'll give you a subscribe, hopefully I'll get one back... peace

@@KushestWRXproblem is it hasn't been around long enough for reliability statistics. Not many 300k mi fa engines out there, the people that praise reliability typically are the ones doing proper maintenance. Reliability and maintenance go hand in hand as you're aware some don't even change oils regularly or check it until a light comes on(by then it's too late). Doing donuts starving the oil pump, mods without proper tuning, etc... then they complain reliability when it's broken. With that said, I'm not saying it isn't reliable just give it time and stats will come out in a few years like every other car. Unfortunately there's no stats saying if he/she trashed it causing it to be unreliable.
@matthewwain9958
@matthewwain9958 Год назад
Yes and no. Those performance essentials like brakes, gearbox, diffs, better seating, better suspension etc ate all gonna cost to upgrade. Saying that, I would love to see a decently modified VB with brakes, suspension, trans etc to see what it can do. The chassis I assume is an improvement over the VA generally, so very curious.on track capabilities. Would also love to see an FA24'd STI,. but I suspect that will be an extremely involved mod since the fuel system I assume is so different.
@ranran2218
@ranran2218 Год назад
@moditfromday1 and if we are all being honest the wrx and sti are the least reliable subaur vehicles. So even if the vb is better than the va that doesn't make it reliable. Most wrx and sti even when not modded don't make it to 100k miles.

I love Subaru I have a FBO VA WRX with a STI DRIVETRAIN SWAP I’m very interested to see if these FA24s can withstand that type of power over the course of 50k 60k 70k cuz most people who buy these cars use them as a daily so we don’t just need power we need reliable power also these cars still have the weak link which is the split case 5 speed that Subaru just added a 6th gear to when I was going for power in my WRX first thing I did was the drivetrain swap best 6k I could have spent turned the car into a different animal but these FA24s make great power just interested to see them over the long run can it handle all the HP and TRQ for 50,60,70 k miles being fail driven? And I KNOW that split case transmission cannot handle that type of power over a long period of time even with a aftermarket clutch it has been the week link in the WRX for some time now that is where that extra $10-$12k comes in at when buying the STI is having that amazing STI drivetrain anyway I love Subarus have owned quite a few still own my FBO WRX with the STI drivetrain swap but I really want to see the longevity of these FA24s over 10s of thousands of miles but all I have to say is I’m glad Subaru made a motor that responds so well to Tunning anyway great video man and I hope these motors last making that type of power it would be awsome!!! In time there will be plenty of options to fix that issue if its that big of a deal for you. I own a 22 and in the 22 circles there is already an aftermarket back bumper in the works that will ditch the cladding. Personally, I like the cladding. Its unique and if you ask me the stance is where these cars hurt the most in the visual department. Lower it a few inches and slap some good wheels on the car and it starts to transform. In time I hope to swap all the plastic with carbon but that is a long term goal.

I love my VB but the empty spot where the DCCD knob would have been still makes me wonder the potential this car could have had under true STI engineering 🤔. Kinda sad.

Hey! The VA is still an awesome car. I would take a 2019+ STI over a VB wrx. I just like the character the EJ motor brings

huh, odd, I didnt think that much could be different from the other subaru platforms, that being said, I saw a guy at a pro tuners shop, bought EVERYTHING AVAILABLE for his 2023 wrx and got WAY UNDER 400hp they esplanane, new platform, not many aftermarket parts available and with no new cars on the horizon, no new support is coming, why would aftermarket companies build a 1 off part for 1 year car only? or am I wrong I have a 2017 sti at 350hp and a 2005 sti at 550hp

LOL! Honestly why not, can we retrofit a 4th cylinder cooling mod?? I can imagine subaru engineers seeing us putting uel and just face palm

I have a 2007 WRX STI Hawkeye and a new 2023 WRX in black. The STI has better steering feel, and more raw and enjoyable to drive, but the 2023 has a far better chassis and motor than my Hawkeye. The 2023 would need an STI transmission if you plan on making big power, but out of the box this is the best WRX (non STI) by far.

It take more than just having more potential to make more power, that ugly shit will never be an STI killer ❤
