Yes. The Ford Mustang is reliable. It is more reliable than my first car, 1989 Holden Astra SX, my second car, Daihatsu Appaluase 1999 and my current 1991 Honda Accord Exi 1991 with zero airbags. The Ford Mustang is reliable.
You're right about the way the previous owner took care of his ride. My father had his '72 Mach One up until 15 years ago and when he sold it you could eat off the engine. Pony love forever! 👍😎😍
I bought my 2018 Royal Crimson Mustang 6 speed manual transmission brand new and it’s got 50000 miles on it now. The only thing I’ve had to do to it was oil changes and tire rotations and a new set of tires. Even though I drive it in triple digits at times I’ve had no problems with the car. It gets compliments on its looks all the time 5 years later. I park it in my garage and wash it and polish it regularly.
Engine - depends who took care of it. Technologies, nannies, and sync - time will tell. Leather seats crack on 3rd year, depends where the sun dont shine. It really depends what is defined reliable. My ‘96 neon was reliable coz it never left me stranded while my civic’s headlights died during night drive home.
If you like your car and take care of it then any car will be reliable. I haven't had any major issues with my 2019 so far and I'm not to worried about it. I do drive it hard sometimes but it's also a daily so it's a good mix.
I know this a year later but I have my truck I fully rebuilt but at this point in my life a mustang gt gets a lil better gas mileage and has enough speed I’m happy with all motor wise I’m just scared to take the jump n sell my truck to get one of these. Due to not knowing how reliable they are.
Mustangs are reliable but only if you take great care of them. But regardless it’s a money pit. If you don’t mind spending money on it then go ahead. But if you want a fun car that’s reliable and good looking I recommend getting one of these options: 08-17 v6 accord coupe manual or auto. Lexus is250/350. Lexus is300 Honda Civic si. Those cars are fun and reliable as hell.
Sooo, I bought a new 2018 GT. Just went over 40,000 miles and had zero issues. Change of tires and oil changes... runs great, dealership gives the car an A+. Not a money pit if you take care of it... do not need to red line on every drive.
@@Greg_call well yea because you bought it brand new. I’m really talking more about mustangs with 60-70k plus miles on them. Buying a used muscle car is always a risk. Most people fuck them up when driving them.
@@Bendejo6517 Plus... I'm over 50 and don't take the vehicle to its limits during every drive. If I had this vehicle at 17, well, I would be in the hospital 🏥. With age you gain a better understanding of temptations. Cheers!
results for this car will be skewed because the majority owners are kids that dont take care of their cars and modify them to the detriment of the vehicle's reliability
Wow, two different camera angles inside the car. Always looking into the camera! Well done! :) Sounds reasonable that it can be a reliable car! What is the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger? I thought it's the same thing... :D
I know this is an old post but figured I'd reply anyway. A turbo and a supercharger are both similar in that they achieve a similar goal. Forcing more air into an engine. Having said that the turbo uses exhaust gases to spin a turbine that is connected to a shaft driving another turbine on the intake side. Meanwhile a supercharger uses belts connected to pulleys on the front of the motor driving either a turbine or a roots style blower. The turbo is more efficient but has more lag compared to a supercharger of a similar size. Basically each has pros and cons so it depends on what you're goals are.
Any car is reliable if you take good care of it. It seems Mustang enthusiasts uses this line to hide the fact that Mustangs generally don't last anywhere near as import cars. Unless you enjoy fixing and performing maintenance on your car, this isn't a car that lasts for a long time without hefty charges in parts and labor. Mustangs are known foe their power. As for their longevity, they fall flat on their faces. Any manufacturer can build a powerhouse. Not every manifacturer can blend power with reliability and this is where mustangs fall short.
Really interesting topic Gold Pony! I have a 2018 GT with PP1 on it. I bought it used with 7,000 miles on it. So far we're doing okay. The battery has died one time and that's it which can happen in any car really. I have a very subtle version of the BBQ tick and the 2k rattle.... do you have any of those in yours? I've seen pretty much any 2018 has that.
@@goldpony Nice! When I say mine is very subtle, I really do mean you would have to get down and put your ear behind the left front or right front tire and really listen for it...... I mean it's really nothing. Your reviews really helped me get my first Mustang, a 2016 EcoBoost one years ago and now a GT. I give you a ton of credit for that. Love your work as always man. Be well.
2018 GT manual PP1 Convertible with 11,200 miles here since exactly two years, the battery died this week and I called the dealership today, they accepted to change it under warranty. No barbecue tick but I had the 2K rattle for a while but it is mysteriously gone since I switched to Mobil One.
@@mederic999 You got me there! Normally if that 2k "rattle" is around, it typically is around to stay. I definitely want people to know what we're talking about is normally pretty subtle and would never discourage me from getting a Mustang. I love my car and wouldn't trade it for anything.
@@BSchoon55 The rattle was there for a year under load when going uphill, like if I were using low octane gas, then it was gone after I switched engine oil. It is definitely an awesome car and MagneRide makes it confortable for daily driving. Here is a video of the car: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dMEo-KsMvqQ.html
This video has good information. But would have been great if the content were spoken then the car was parked or from outside the car keeping the car as a backdrop. I can understand that vlogging while commuting is a good use of time, dont know what other commitments you have. But the engine noise really in this case is purely unwelcome noise. I am interested to hear your words, truly am, but the voice to noise ratio has genuinely done this video a disservice. Good luck for the future videos.
Genuine question, why do people say the 2018 is the worst year to buy a mustang. I want to get one because I like the looks of it. A more aggressive and mad look than a gen 2. Yet people say gen 2’s are better. Also saying that 2018 is the worst possible year for a mustang gt.
What do you think about it now? After a year of driving it …I am buying a used 2019 mustang gt with 36 000 miles…. And I want to daily drive it …. Can you pls tell me what do you think about the reliability and the maintenance?
"Is it reliable" becomes "how to buy a used mustang" But i wanna know is it reliable "just look up for the consumer report" .... Dude, get your title right pls
I lease cars. I finally decided to venture out and thinking of getting a mustang, buying it because leasing deals on it sucks. Now I am not sure of all the things i hear about not only Mustangs but almost every other car as it ages. Jesus just think I am gona stick to leasing and stick to very affordable Lexus or Infiniti.
@@GT47179 Your right especially with gas prices I would not want to pay 60 for a tank of gas a week here in Orlando Fl, I am considering a 370Z or possibly the new one if it is priced right really enjoyed the Supra but over priced

I’m Aussie, we bought an 18 GT in April 19, just a poor pony no one wanted but was the perfect car for us, it was considerably discounted from original price, plus negotiation and trade in brought it down to a much more acceptable price but as the salesman said, Ford Australia over ordered on the FN S550 due to the popularity of the FM S550 so there was a shitload of them still available, ever thought that sales have dropped because most of the people that wanted them have already got them? And tbh, resale value on cars always sucks, everyone knows you take a hit as soon as you get the tyres dirty but have you driven an S550? Who gives a shit, Australian delivery, right hand drive 5.0 GT Mustang with Magnaride, 10 speed auto and 340kw in a car the size of a Mazda 3 for under $50k? I’d happily buy another one
@@lunch2102 Sorry to say many for sale in car yards prices have dropped more then any other car in that price range.up to the individual better to have a car that is worth the money to me and many others not worth a cent.
Like I said, the Australian market was flooded with them, Ford Australia messed up, its as simple as supply and demand, the anticipated higher demand and now they’re paying the price.. like I said, I don’t care, I drive 1 daily and it’s worth every cent I paid! What’s the alternative it the same category, 2 door 340kw.. ? Euro? BMW, good luck getting one of them for under $100k with $400 capped price servicing..
@@Yammie_Moto671 I drive a 2018 mustang 5.0. It’s got over 35.000 miles on it. The only thing that’s been replaced are the tires. 0 mechanical problems.
