Now that Rolex has stopped selling to watch enthusiasts who are not rich like us, I support Seiko, which once ruined the Swiss watch industry with its Quartz revolution, and I will buy a Snowflake soon.
I have the SBGA497 (pink snowflake) on, and it's truly stunning, just like the 211. It's not as vividly pink as depicted in the photos. I've observed that under certain angles or lighting conditions, the dial's shade almost transitions to a white hue. The Shunbun (spring watch) dial is also appealing with its lighter pink tone, but I must admit, the design of the SBGA497 feels exceptionally unique, evoking various emotions and I appreciate the gold GS logo. Additionally, I noticed that when wearing both, the crystal of the Shunbun protrudes slightly more from the case and I didn't like that too much.
Wearing my Grand Seiko “Ushio”! Loving it! Just returned from a business trip and wanted to strap a sports watch. It is an amazing watch! Very good review. If I was ‘in the market’ for a pink dial,…I would opt for the Shunbun instead. The dial pink appears to be much more subtle compared to this model. That said, the “Snowflake” at 41M and in the proprietary titanium is tough to beat. I’m thinking I would really be buying this because it is a) an interesting derivative of the “Snowflake” and 2) is a limited edition. Otherwise, I would add a traditional “Snowflake” to the collection.
If you like having an unusual variant of the Snowflake, the SBGA259 aka Golden Snowflake is a good choice too. I love both this pink one and the Shunbun too. It’s hard to go wrong with any of the nature-inspired GS models tbh.
Wearing a boring Classy Date just with white dial. Loving this watch because it is no nonsense. Time, date, good movement, comfortable bracelet, doesn’t try to be something else. Grand Seiko is for me a weird designed watch. Want to look like cherry blossom or like snow on mountains… trying to be something or look like something, why?
I would think by now, grand Cisco would offer bracelets that have micro adjustment. That may be the only thing that would keep me from buying this thing.
