I purchased a certified pre owned 2019 Honda Civic EX sedan in January 2023. It only had 18,000 miles. Really happy with it. Almost wish I had purchased a new one because the price was so high for a four year old car.
I just bought a 2017 civic ex trim, like yours. I have never had such fun driving. The handling is so responsive, and unlike so many people, I actually like the smoothness of the cvt. It feels as if the car "knows what it's doing". I'm 74, and have had lots of cars. Had a civic 20 years ago and wanted another for its zippy feel. You made a great video; articulating my own ideas about this great little car. Mine has only 64,000 miles. No rust, and I had it rust coated. Rust claims more cars here in Maine than engine or transmissions, though I am a little nervous about the cvt. The second thing I did was to have the transmission fluid and filter changed. I'm hoping this car will last the rest of my driving years. Thanks.
Beautiful car! I drove my ‘02 Civic LX for 18 years. It only failed to start once in 18 years, but only because the battery was dead. 🤪 (It was waaay past time for an upgrade!) Just bought a brand new 2023 Civic Touring last month. The 11th gen is toned down quite a bit from the racer boy look of the 10th gen but I think it looks elegant and classy. (Some say boring. 😉) It’s a beautiful car too: a meteorite metallic gray color with a two-tone black/ivory interior (ivory seats). I buy Hondas primarily for reliability and longevity. I want a minimum of 10 years out of this car, preferably 12-15 years. It drives and handles beautifully and feels really solid. I’m super happy with it. You can’t go wrong with a Honda. Honda really knows what they’re doing. 😊
Even though I'm partial to my 10th Gen, I think the 11th is very nice looking and I especially like the hatchback. And yes reliability is great. I plan on keeping mine until it dies, which could very well be after I do 😂
I picked the civic EX-L for my parents to buy me over Memorial Day Weekend 2016, as a university graduation gift. The original intent was to pass on their old Camry V6 XLE, but that pile of junk had so many issues it wasnt safe to drive. This car, in 7 years, has only had 20k miles put into it, but it has been wonderful. AC evaporator broke, but repaired under a recall, and thats about it. No honda sensing either, but there are pros/cons to that too. This car has taught me so much about driving dynamics and racing alone that i will never forget this work of art. Selling it now, i could get about the same amount of money for it as we paid 7 years ago... Which leaves me to a hypothetical question...i could drive this car for 20 years until the wheels fall off, or....i could sell it and buy a model 3 for basically the same amount of money. This thought has needled itself into the back of my mind and I havent been able to shake it yet...
I agree with you that 10th gen would be a good used car. One plus it has is very good safety features and I could see parents buying a used 10th gen for their teen that reason. I have the Sport Touring and the 1.5 turbo has been extremely reliable (knock on wood). A lot of people mod these so that's the only thing I would beware of but a mechanic can give you a heads up.
