Is the HUGE Native Titan kayak STURDY enough for a motor?!

Glad to finally find your very informative video. I have the same set up just haven't had mine out with the trolling motor. hoping to run my Titan 10.5 with trolling motor and not need to use my kayak rudder. Thanks Ron!

Having this option may have just made my decision on a kayak. I definitely want a pedal drive kayak and this model is in my top 2 picks, but having this option is great for those longer distance trips. Awesome.

I have Bkc tandem pedal drive. I made a transom mount similar to this for my trolling motor, but scared it may cut the bottom of my kayak pulling in and out when in shallow water. Also wanted to avoid the trolling motor in the way while fishing. so i decided to use the steering part in the rear of the rudder instead because the kayak already had a hole made for the rudder steering mount itself. Also added a propeller safety cage on the trolling motor blade as i mounted the trolling motor to be level like how the stock steering rudder use to be mounted.

Excellent video Ron!!! If you get a trolling motor stand where you can clamp the motor upright, then let it prop sit in some freshwater, or chlorinated pool water. It'll keep it salt free! Tight lines my brother 👊

I didn't catch your speed, Ron. I'm seriously looking at doing the same thing on my Slayer Propel 13 with one of the Newport motors - either the NK180 or NK300. With battery I might be sinking in close to $2k, but I'm 70 yo and looking for longer range, etc. I can't believe that anyone else has not shown a similar rig on RU-vid with the Natives.

That battery should be at the stern of the boat. The bow is the worst possible spot for it. If you ever find yourself in rougher waters... I like your 10.5. I have the same model.

I am looking to buy a Native Titan 12 with that exact setup. How did that set up end up working for you? Did the handle get in the way when fishing. Was it easy to maintain boat position? I am used to the pedal drive in my Slayer, but I would like to extend my range with an electric motor .

Did you use the rudder in the titan to steer or turn the motor to steer?

Also look at a lithium iron phosphate battery half the weight and it lasts longer

Can you steer with just the motor, or do you have to use the rudder too?

Are you steering with the tiller or the rutter?

Just drop the shaft down a little more and the water won't come in ... I have one on my titon 13.5
