Steve Jobs said a phone should never go past this size otherwise it just becomes intrusive. Personally I think the iPhone 6 to SE Gen 3 design is the best.
I bought my iPhone SE 1st generation in December 2016 and I'm still using it !! To keep it in good condition, I have changed the battery myself, and I have cleaned the inside of both the front and back cameras myself. I run the lastest iOS 15.8, and it works like a charm !!
What carrier do you use? I'm thinking of getting a 1st gen iPhone SE but not sure if it will work with Verizon, or how much longer Verizon will support it.
I kinda miss the size of the 5s and the original SE because those were my first two iPhones. And there was something so simple and uncomplicated about them. While I love new iPhones too, the older ones like the SE just felt like a higher quality.
@@janchalupa9276yes. Apple 1st gen of SE still usable today. And it can even update the newest system. The only things you need to fit, are the type style on small screen, and you need to buy a new SEbattery and install on. love from China 🇨🇳
Im still using my SE 1st Generation since January 2017. Running on iOS14 and it’s my main phone. Im 40yo and I just do texts, calls, emails, surf, youtube and other social media platforms. It’s still doing fine.
definitely keep it on ios 14, i have like 30 of these things and my ios 12 se is very very fast, i main my perso se on ios 14 tho and its nice but facebook doesn’t work
bought the 2016 SE in 2016; It's my daily. Runs the latest iOS, can use it with one hand, battery is great (installed new batt 2 years ago), the phone fits in my front pocket and it's plenty fast. I actually bought the 2020 SE but then 'upgraded' back to the 2016 SE - size matters.
@@coganada2468I don't now how long it will be supported but with the 64bit A9, it's made it to 15.8 thus far. I'll run it until I my iCloud stuff stops syncing with the phone.
@@ittbelitt8409 I got my replacement battery from iFixit - i trust them and NEVER had an issue with anything I bought from them- they even send you the EXACT little tools to do the job plus the adhesive strips. The absolute key to a successful install is PATIENCE. Just take your time- good luck.
4:46 The first-generation iPhone SE and the iPhone 6S actually have 12 megapixel rear cameras. I would like to see a video about your iPod touch 6th generation! The first iPhone SE also does overheat and lag badly on iOS 15 compared to iOS 10.
I’ve been using a 16gb SE for a lil over a year now and its been absolutely fantastic, love the compact form factor and its still very snappy. Just snagged a 128gb model in rose gold for like $90 bucks and I’ve upgraded the battery, which lasts me the whole day easily.
I have my iPhone SE since 2017, it was my brother’s iPhone on iOS 13. Great LCD screen. Bright, no flicker at all all white doesn’t get warm, photo quality is great
Got this phone for my niece who’s turning 6 next January this will be her 1st iPhone I think there’s nothing wrong with it and she doesn’t need an expensive phone with Face ID
Still have my original SE and my original 6s as well. The SE is still my favorite because of the size and easily to use in one hand. However, the 6s gets used the most.
@@Marvix_vidz The last flagship iPhones with a headphone jack are the 6s and 6s Plus, released in 2015. The last iPhone EVER with a headphone jack is the SE 2016, from March of 2016. No iPhone released since the iPhone 7/7 Plus (September 2016) has a headphone jack.
@@Marvix_vidz iPhone SE was released AFTER the iPhone 6 and is a bit more advanced but the features apart from display size are more or less the same. iPhone SE has a better primary camera than the iPhone 6 as well as better processing power...
SE 2016, with 4" screen, 4 oz weight is perfect shirt-pocket phone. Using Safari Reader Mode and Adobe PDF Reader Mode allows me to enlarge font. Even RU-vid is good - small screen but I'm very myopic (short-sighted) so I hold the phone about 8" from my eyes.
To me the first generation of the iPhone SE was the best phone Apple ever made. It's amazingly compact, has an actual flat rear and straight edges so it can properly stand on its side (it also gives off a feeling of "something so small that can do so much"); its camera is very good and makes MUCH more natural images than the more recent iPhones; It has touch ID, which I personally really like; it has an actual 16:9 screen instead of the wider screen with smooth edges nonsense in more recent phones; as of today, it's still supported by Apple and recieves software updates. It is an overall amazing phone, and I think it's a shame that nothing like it has ever been made again.
wish they bring back the iphone SE1GEN design with todays full display. I will definatly buy even if it costs more than a pro version. i have the se1 and the portablity is amazing
I still have my 1st gen se but i replaced the battey 3 times already and used it as an secondary phone im currently usin my iphone 12 mini as my main cuz i like small phones
I have this phone from new and it is awesome.. I wish apple made exactly the same thing with more power and a touch bigger screen.. but no sadly they lost the button and the headphone jack and the better charger port. And they make lots of the same model with flash bells and whistles but no models with those features that I really like.
Because my iPhone 11’s back is completely cracked I thought about buying a new phone. And I’m really interested in buying the iPhone SE 1st gen but I’m kind of worried that it might be too small and because the selfie camera only has 1,2 MP so idk how bad the pictures are
My 2016 SE is great as a news reader, using Safari Reader Mode especially. Also as walking step counter and website browser. Never far from home charger so small battery ok. Shirt-pocket size is great.
@@RandomStuff18181 I don't exactly know what ur saying, but if u are intending to buy an iOS 15 device, don't do it. it may be usable right now, but that won't last long at all
I have my Iphone SE since 2016 iOS 13.3.1. Great LCD screen: Bright, top contrast (even in bright sunny daylight), no flicker at all and it is white (no yellow or redish tint! It doesn't get warm. Photo quality is great.
In 2023, how can I buy this iPhone SE (better with ios old version), please let me know, I very like this iPhone's design, I had an iPhone 5s space gray.
@@minhtri6113I can get only in RS - 7500, 64 GB, Rose Gold with shipping charges extra. SEALED PACK BOK, BUT IT WAS REFURBISHED BUT IT LOOK LIKE NEW 🆕 IF U WANT 😴
Thinking to get it as a 2nd phone. Never used iphones before, only androids, winmobile and symbian a loong time ago. Thought to get something small and maybe weird to carry around with not much effort. I'm not going to replace my main android phone with it, but kinda curious how it works. And if I'll go with it would be very convenient to have ability using Airtags. So question- would airtags work with this iphone? I've read in requirements it says minimum ios 14.5, but besides not any other things I'd need to know?
Honestly, people who like touch ID baffle me slightly.... I use an iPhone 8 and because I have sweaty fingers, it almost never reads my fingers, even when I quickly dry them..... It's a huge pain to use....
Thanks for this video. I loved the 5 series sized phones. It took my forever to upgrade. I went from iPhone 5 to iPhone XR. Took me while to let go. Kinda want to get a new SE. since I don’t use socials, or play games or anything heavy no longer. Small phones are missed. I found an old otterbox case for the iPhone 5. So small.
I have a question...can i still use this for 5 years without things like apple making old ios versions unusable? I owned this phone before (2017) and I love it so much (tho it broke). I'm planning to get it as a secondary phone to my Poco F4 GT.
If its on IOS 15.7 you shouldnt have any issues for the next 2 to 3ish years. Id say 5 years is pushing it due to the hardware thats on the phone. Battery degradation will be pretty bad for a phone at the 10 year mark. From my understanding, Apple had a lawsuit? and isnt slowing down older devices with updates.
I’m using one in mint condition with 96% battery health on 15.7.8 and it sucks for the most part. Battery drains insanely fast, phone heats up doing the most basic shit, slow and choppy performance. I love the physical design and it’s the best ever, imo. But I’m about to just put it in the drawer and keep it as a backup because it just can’t handle most of what you throw at it, and I’m just doing basic stuff.
Try replacing the battery even if it’s in the 90% range. I bought one that was at 96% and it had the same issues that you described. Once I replaced it it now lasts me all day with no issues. I just assumed cause the battery was old even if it was at 96% that it drained quickly
Um no it’s not it’s an old peiece of junk! I use the newest Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and I used it comment this video like I dislike this video because it’s saying Apple is good and I hate iphones
