I'm using it and I love its battery endurance and Fast charging, with USB Type-C😁 The only complaint I have with this device is that it only has Bluetooth 4.2....so the range is not good...JBL Should've gone with Bluetooth 5.0
After 15 months use of JBL Flip 4 the battery doesn't last long as it used to before, if played on high volume the fully charged speaker last for only half an hour. But the sound quality is legendary,really love the sound quality❤️❤️❤️. Flip 5 is a skip cuz I can't pair it with flip 4 & lack of Bluetooth 5.0
My flip 4 has the same problem and mine makes a distorted noice if it plays to hard becouse of the bad battery and if i put it on the charger it is fixed. And i bought a sony xb41 for 120 euro's as a replacement

no backward compatible with other existing jbl flip units, no headphone jack,no Bluetooth 5 , no microphone for assistant like google and siri and also no speakerphone for making /receiving calls on this on the flip side you get rich sound and better battery life as well as charging time is also less ....this is called a review...nice work....
Hey Pratima. (Sony SRS XB12 × 2 speaker ) vs (JBL Flip 5). Both costs the same and packed with 20 watts I guess. So. Can you please help me which sounds better and provides the better sound effect? 2 speaker from sony can provide a better sound effect than a single JBL Flip 5?
Very helpful video. I want to order one tomorrow but the only thing I'm worried about is video latency, I watch a lot of random videos from my phone and my laptop and I want to know if the latency is that bad or it's just ok (manageable)? Please help. I wouldn't want to waste my money

Good review on the technical side. But how loud does the speaker gets, if there is distortion at high volumes, bass response, reproduction of mids, highs n lows hasn't been properly discussed in it. What genres of music sound good etc Codecs etc is fine but the review should be mostly from a listeners / consumer's point of view and not an audio engineers point of view :)
The *Flip 4* is still the best speaker in the JBL Flip line-up without any doubt, though the Flip 5 sounds marginally better... less bright. I got mine in India for $91 in November 2019 but the price went up to $110 after that and has pretty much remained there. (In India) The reason is, while the Flip 5 sounds good, it is not better... in fact it is a major step backwards. . The Flip 4 is stereo, the Flip 5 is mono. . The Flip 4 has a mic, it is an excellent speaker phone. The 5 doesn't have a mic! . The Flip 4 also has a bass boosting feature. Press the Bluetooth and the Volume down button for about 10 seconds and you enter Extra Bass Mode. . The Flip 4 ports are covered with a watertight flap. The 5 has them exposed. How waterproof can that be? . Flip 4 has a 3.5mm / Aux In port. The 5 doesnt! Though it is BT 4. The Flip 4 has a bright sound and a very tight bass and open mids. (I reduce the treble a tad, with my phone's eq, just a small step and it sounds perfect. For speech and muffled recordings, it is crystal clear as is. It also has 2 active drivers and 2 passive bass radiators. The Flip 5 has one active driver, however it charges via type C, sounds good and looks as good as the 4, though slightly larger. The 3.5 aux input is essential for watching video without lag / latency. This speaker is a perfect blend of sound and size, portability, compatibility, style and ruggedness. It has an IPX7 rating and it lives up to it. Battery life is fine, not great, for either. The price, at $90 is fair. And if you can by any chance place it in a corner, it blows the lid off much larger speakers! This is a small speaker you will fall in love with, can carry around and never tire of! 4/5*. 1/2 off for the average battery and 1/2 off for being a fraction too bright. Flip 4 rules! **** 😊 _
when you said that the bad things “raise red flags” you make it sound like it’s such a horrible choice; idk why y’all old people are mad asf about it missing a 3.5mm aux jack and mic. there’s something called “evolution” for a reason and nowadays people want less wires to carry around and no one listen on private phone calls bc if it’s a private call then people are gonna hate that they’ll have to turn off the speaker if they don’t know how to change the audio output on their phone calls themselves. so don’t get mad😌🤚🏾 just stick with the Flip 4.
