Yep! the way i finally managed to get into the game(few years back before steam) was to just start throwaway fortresses to figure out the mechanics. im gonna use these dwaves to figure out how to farm properly im gonna figure out how to get crafting to work etc
Surprised you don't have more subs.... Great video. I subscribed and will watch more in the future. You should take complex games like this and talk about why or why not to play them!

Yeah I agree, you can definitely see the inspiration in rimworld from dwarf fortress. I played rimworld before dwarf fortress so I might be a bit biased, but I think rimworld did enough to stand on its own feet and not just be a blatant rip off.
