One small thing regarding the recent update we had in Europe with Lexus Link+, we now share the same 2.5 version number ! Otherwise, our respective apps offer different functions, although the screen layouts seem to become more similar. Thank you !
Lexus and Toyota are pretty far behind when it comes to UX, especially in comparison to newer companies like Tesla and Rivian. This latest update is not an improvement; it feels like a reskin of existing features. It would seem they were trying to make some of the features more intuitive with delineated tap targets, such as the migration of the change vehicle feature from tapping the center vehicle tab to the top vehicle name, and the box button around the vehicle range. Likely their feature engagement metrics weren't ideal, or they got a lot of feedback about it being confusing where to find those features. Unfortunately the visual design of the refresh is now worse than it was in the prior version, which although had some usability quirks, felt better crafted. I think the worse part of the app is the use of prime real estate of the 4 other tabs for things the user does not frequently need; users aren't scheduling service or managing their vehicle subscriptions on a daily basis. It defies typical app conventions.
It definitely changes to the number of touches needed for an action and removing the confusion. They added the walkthrough to hopefully get ppl to know how to use the app. But you are right that the bottom menu doesn't add that much value. But I guess they want ppl to pay and subscribe for the services. Around the end of the year some owners are done with the 3 year trial.
Oops ... I have a NX350h 2024. My Android app updated today. In seeing your video, there is one status item that is included for you but is missing on my app - the Key Fob status under the Health menu.
I've had my 450h+ Ultra Premium (Canada's Lowest Trim) for a week and my app's climate control only provides me with the temp adjust, no heated seat or steering wheel temp adjustments even though I have those features. Anyone else have this issue? It was the same with the previous version prior to today's update.

@@lsft - confirming that this worked. I emailed them and today someone from Lexus phoned me and told me to try it again while they waited on the phone. As soon as I logged into the app and opened the climate controls, everything was there. I'm impressed.. not that they fixed it but that someone actually phoned me.. is this normal Lexus customer service? I've been an Acura customer for past 16 years, (3 vehicles) and this is my first Toyota/Lexus
@@uopercival Great to see that this worked for you and now you have the full functionality. What you experience is the Lexus experience. But I do feel it doesn't happen all the time nowadays. Great that you got that experience. Some times the bad experience comes from some selected dealerships.
The biggest problem with the old app is that it freezes from time to time. Hopefully the updated app won't freeze as much. I wish there's better integration between Lexus app and Google/Apple Maps. It'd be great if I can add location from my Google maps to the Lexus navi like I could with the Tesla app.
That shouldn't be too hard to do if they do the magic within the app. Share the location to the Lexus app and let it sync to the car. You can suggest that feature in the app.
I just tested with my iPhone. When you are in Google maps, you can share the address to Lexus app and then it will launch the app to the destination screen where you can send to car or save it.
@@lsft Hum.. weird. I'm an iPhone user. From google maps I cannot see the Lexus app as one of the option available for sharing. Maybe there's a setting somewhere I need to turn on?
@@robwon8378 if you share a location, the first row is contacts, then second row is apps. Swipe all the way to the right to the more (...) Then a list of apps show up. Do you see Lexus app there?
Yes, it will need time to get used to it. The goal seems to be a less touch experience so that you can get things done with less touches. But from the design side, it could be better
