Love my S5II, I also love and continue to own my S5. The GH5, S5 cameras both helped me to perfect manual focus pulls, now I can rock Cine an Anamorphic lenses so easily. Yes, the PDAF is absolutely fantastic, especially post v 3.0 firmware, but most of my professional lenses are MF.
I’ve always joked around that the GH5 is manual focus boot camp haha. But thanks to that running cine glass and anamorphic is a breeze like you said! I just invested in my first set of cine lenses and pulling focus still feels great especially cause lumix has so many great focus tools in these bodies. We are spoiled hahaha
I've stayed with the S1 so far.. love the idea of the S5IIX but I would really wait for Lumix to bring out a model with 4K 120P without crop before upgrading. The features on the S5 II X are, of course, incredible. And if I didn't have the S1 it would have been the easy choice. But for now... I'll wait
@@cesarlorca_ I somehow doubt about the Internal ND unless it's an electronic one of some kind, just because a physical ND would bump into the sensor with the IBIS. Possibly in a cinema size camera though
It was pretty damn fast - four and a half minutes, but thanks for your opinion! And now we're waiting for May 23 for compact Lumix camera for travel photo/video and social media content! Thx again
@@cesarlorca_ Haha. Mine arrived 2 weeks ago 🤣 Already loving it coming from S5. The 6K open gate hits different. The new high setting IBIS is crazy good too.
It’s wild right?! Something about that open gate I just 👌 And man, If lumix does something right it’s IBIS hahah I don’t know what they put in there but damn does it work 😂
I cant find one video on youtube about S5IIx live straming capability on the ease of setup, wired ethernet throught usb adapter, bit rate, color depth etc.
what about the hdmi latency. i am sure you use a external monitro right? because lumix latency was also huge compared to sony or BM. what do you think about that? second doy ou turn the ibis off when shooting sport content for the more shaky look?
I exclusively shoot with a monitor on top for the false color but honestly the latency has never been an issue when I’m shooting I did find a trick online that if you turn off the audio going into the monitor it reduces the latency a bit And I do! I have ibis on my custom settings so I turn it off and on depending on what’s going on to fit the shoot!
@@cesarlorca_ Hey. What do you prefer more - Canon FD vintage or modern Lumix 50mm 1.8. Is there is a big difference in vintage look after aplying dehancer to the footage?
@@cesarlorca_ I also have the R5 which I personally think has the best AF. This is about 85 percent to that maybe more. I even think it’s better than Sony and I’ll tell you why the Sony seems a little bit more sticky but many times you get the eyelashes or the eyebrow with the Lumix you always get right in the middle of the eyeball. 👁️ It’s just a little slower than the R5. Also this is after the latest firmware before wasn’t as good as this.
That’s crazy to hear because both canon and Sony have been known for their autofocus I think we are definitely going to see LUMIX making larger strides! Did you see that they just signed to have ARRI Log in their cameras ?!
I have a problem when I shoot in S&Q. So when I turn on the rec button it will record after 1 or 2 sec can I know what is the problem plz help me with this
My edits tend to be more on the quick side so it’s usually not noticeable but if you’re pixel peeping you’ll see the rolling shutter. So the answer is… I just deal with it 🥲 hahaha
I hear you on that! The 20-60 isn’t my favorite either. A sigma 35 on this is so good 🥵 I’m not gonna lie Dehancer isn’t cheap man so try the two week trial first!
@@cesarlorca_ Got it. Quick another question. Do you find 24-28mm range ofter used in your work? I am choosing right now between sigma 24-70 and 28-70. Not sure that 4mm wide range is worth of extra 400gramm. But maybe in full camera setup heavy lens is actually usefull in terms of balancing the V-mount and ohter stuff?
I do find myself using 24 pretty often for wides since it’s my widest focal length I personally I love the look of it! It’s now crazy wide like a 20 and it’s a nice sweet spot The extra weight will definitely help balance but just make sure it’s something you’re comfortable with!
Considering switching from canon for this little best. How is the 60fps crop, that’s the only thing holding me back! Can you shoot 24fps in super 35 mode? The crop doesn’t bother me, it’s the changing framing when switching back and forth between normal and slow motion.
@@cesarlorca_ I do have 1 question. How do you expose VLOG? do you expose to your face using luminance spot meter or just the entire image 1 stop over?
@@d2kinu874 I always use false color on my external monitor! But when I don’t have it I usually go a half stop over but I think you could get away with 1 stop over just make sure you don’t clip your highlights!
Watch out your eq move mate, if you want to boost the hell out of the highs put a de esser after at least, try buying monitoring headphones it will be the best investement for the money/ratio youll make
@@cesarlorca_ Buy beyerdynamics 770 (better for recording or noisy environnement) or 990 (open back better for mixing but you can ear noise around you) youll have better audio everytime, Its like color grading with a bad monitor.
@@cesarlorca_ Cheap Tier : ATH-M20x Radio Tier : beyerdynamics DT770 Pro Closedback / DT990 pro Open backj Pro Tier : Any Audeeze Studio headpones Closed back for noisy environnement, Open back for better monitoring but let outside sound pass through
It’s the dancing kind of texture on repeating patterns! I think the compression of the video made it look minimal in my example but it’s definitely there
I've had mine for a little over a year. Great camera. I use it for run n gun travel videos. Stabilization is perfect. I shoot everything exclusively handheld, I don't carry any stabilizers or a tripod with me. I combined my S5IIx into a rig with Blackmagic VideoAssist and SmallRig V-mount batteries. BRAW is wonderful to work with in DaVinci.
I also like to shoot exclusively handheld with it, even though I still have my crane 4 combo leftover from my old BMPCC 6k setup… I find myself unrigging it all the time just to use it regular lol I have the video assist 7” HDR 12g , smallrig vmount battery plate, side handle and top handle and find it’s amazing when shooting raw but since I’m always unrigging it I got 2 512gb v30 cards for 15 bucks and have started shooting in the long gop codec to keep it even more incognito
Ooooof, that sounds like an amazing set up! I still haven’t been able to get my hands on the monitor to shoot BRAW but I’ve graded b raw from the black magic and it’s so so so good
Love the video! Ik you've used Blackmagic Cameras too, do you miss BRAW when it comes to grading? or would you say what this camera gives out is enough?
Thanks for the shout out, I noticed some moire on some shoots I did recently too. A screen door, pillow and a shirt. Not the worst Moire I've ever seen but still. No camera is perfect
I came from the background of iphone and i already use this camera indoor only, but when i tried to use it outside, the stability was not like the iphone and the colors are close ! I what lut do you recommend?
Great video. Once in s35 mode 4k50 the rolling shutter becomes so much less. So even for sports handheld you can use this camera. you just need a wide s35 lens like the sigma 10-18, and use your FF lenses cropped in after that (24mm turning into a 35) … Your images look amazing. Great contrast and colors, I love how you aim for radical shots. You edit on resolve ? Never been tempted to shoot braw? Would love to hear about your lens selection too
That’s great to know! I’m going to test it out and see! And I can’t get myself to get another lens but honestly it might not hurt if it reduces rolling shutting shooting s35 Thanks for all the love! I do edit in resolve and I am tempted but I can’t get myself to get the black magic monitor 😭 I shoot the majority of my work with the LUMIX 24-70, sigma 35mm 1.4 and recently the DZO 35!
