One thing I've noticed with larger wheels, it's that they work better with older/stronger ESC braking curves. Tends to tame the braking suddenness.

@@squirky787 @Scott Davies It arrived today and I'm stoked, this Board is Amazing, the Torque is Insane! Max Speed is about 46-48km/h, Drove it 14km today and I had only 80% on the Battery, still about 30-40% left. (I've ordered the Extended Range Version) The only thing which annoys me is the Remote because i like Pistolgrip Remotes and have to accustom to it.

@@evorider3689 in gravel it’s probably better cuz with the normal v4 shuffle it loses all traction and slides when it goes in gravel

Yes these new ones are really what I’d call a “convenience wheel” they make riding over crap like small stones twigs etc easier, also when you get bad cracks in the footpath they pass over a lot easier, They do certainly hurt your range and torque a little but for that little extra smoothness a lot of people like them.

Hey ScottyD long time lover of the reviews first time commenter I’m getting closer to the position of affording an e-skate and I need the functionality of not being too heavy or large (to hide in the office). This looks like it could potentially be it or the latest mini from either Meepo, wowgo or Miles. I swear I’m missing a good entry level brand. Do you have a favourite yourself? Do you know what would fit in the standard enclosure? Or better to build a custom enclosure and build a better battery pack? I brought the standard model as I didn't think the ER looked like that much of a step up for the price difference and I would rather go 10S3P M50 or similar

As someone very new to all this (I'm in the market to purchase an entry level board atm and don't currently have any electric boards yet), is there any real benefit to having that type of wheel? From what I've seen online, it seems to be up for debate on if they're actually better or worse, but I definitely do like the look of them. Great video btw! ^^

The wheels depend on your situation. They will shorten your range by a mile or two compared to a regular board but will make the ride more comfortable if you are going to be riding on bad roads

Nice video. Off topic question - what is the best AT hubs and tires you’ve tried vibrations wise? It seems like they all are a bit unbalanced and that kills all the joy.

Hmmm the Meepo Cyclone racing are amazing but depending on your boards power may be a little big, Also, love the new wheels on the Zeus pro, no wobble and the new Hota tyres are beautiful

Hi, so nice video! Is meepo V4 more powerful with 620W hub motors than V4s with 540W hub motors? Does have Tynee board pro more torque and power to uphill than meepo V4? Thank you!

Honestly the motors feel the same as it’s the esc, so same amps etc Yes the Tynee pro does feel a little more powerful (plus has a little more comfortable deck)

Maybe it's just me but the motors going from 620W to 540W seem to be downgrade and Meepo need to bump up the Wh on the battery for something to be called as "upgraded" board.

Hello Is it okay to keep my meepo V4 fully charged? so it's ready to go when I am???? My review on the V4 after one ride freaking awesome started on mode 3 and left it there throughout my whole ride I rode for about 2 hours Non-Stop and still had battery when I was done I felt very comfortable on the board within minutes first time riding electric skateboard... but I have skated for most of my life.. I think my next purchase will be the meepo Mini I think that's what it's called, the board that still has a tell I think would be awesome to have a tell on Electric Board so I will definitely be looking into that but for now the V4 puts a huge smile on my face super super fun

Awesome man so glad to hear stories like this . to your question, No its not good to leave the batteries fully charged for more than a few days, FULL or Empty is bad, best to leave around the 40-60% and charge the day you ride

I just purchased a meepo V4 lasted a whole 2 days so freaking depressing spend that kind of money for something that I only last two days and meepo will not respond I've emailed them for the last 5 days attaching the receipt every email still will not respond to me and I just purchased the board

Hey Scott Davies on the website to order these standard shipping says ships by June 30th but the $130 option says delivered in 3-10 days, I ordered mine on the 25th so around 10 days from then it should be delivered to me? Or will I still have to wait till June 30th when they ship out?

emailed them on june 25 that i wanted to buy it, asking what shipping would be. Today july 8th, after emailing each other 12 times, i still do not know about shipping prices, and they certainly still have not understood i want one today. Imagine something breaks ,which will certainly happen, like with all other e-boards, how long it then would take for MEEPO to even understand your Board broke down ..and that you need help ,i would assume after 50 emails MEEPO would still not understand that You have a broken board... soooo..i am walking away from this brand....and i recommend anyone else to consider this as well, what a shame, the specs look so well ....

The standard is not good, Their ER model is a lot better Personally for that price I’d be looking at the Tynee range I think SCOTTD gives a discount

the V4 has 620 Watt motors, whereas the V4S has 540 Watt. does it feel any different in terms of power output? I feel like a less powerful motor + bigger wheels would make your torque take a hit.

I think that 620w was a max number, like peak, the V4S feels like it has a little more torque especially when your already sitting 5-10kph it really kicks

For me the original flex was a little uncomfortable with its large concave on the corners. I have their new flex about to arrive nest week, apparently it’s a lot better , I’ll be able to try then

Hi mate both are great boards Personally I like the internals of the Tynee a little better. Samsung 25R cells Hobbywing 9028 esc Hobbywing motors Aldo’s the battery size 180wh Vs 140. If you choose the one Tynee, use SCOTTD for an extra discount Cheers Scott

I only made it 200 miles on my v4 before it crapped out. It's totally anecdotal, but ymmv. Just word of warning. It's a 450 dollar eskate, it is what it is but dont expect ultimate reliability

Took mine apart and turns out that the reason it isn't working is because the cables are unsleeved and so they've been crushed to the point of splitting... good job meepo

Not impressed. They should of upgraded the esc to match the new wheels. Bigger wheels need bigger motors. The braking distance is far too long - that's brake 4! Acceleration is slow as well. As for the range. Wtf!

I prefer a slower acceleration because otherwise it can be dangerous if it accelerates accidentally

@GeeKIllerThanks for the heads up. Much appreciated. I got a set of the "upgrade" 105mm for my v3 and yes it was not good on range, braking and acceleration. Had to upgraded to the v4 esc and use an extended battery to get near similar results to my old v3 set up with 100mm sleeves. I chose the 105mm as I wanted my urethane around the motors.

@GeeKIller my first ride the motors were 🔥 Not impressed! I completely forgot to check again. Will do a check on my next ride. The 105mm burned through my old 10s2p sanyo cells much quicker than the old 100mm hubs it replaced. Fortunately I had a 10s2p Molicels laying around. The v4 esc is quicker than the v3. I can testify to that. That's why I bought another v4 esc and will install on my other v3 board. There's a YT video that compares the 2 escs.
